I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

Special 12. Flashback (5)

‘Killian… It’s too different from the original.’

Lise swallowed dry saliva. She had never been in a situation like this before, so she didn’t know what to do, but she had to do something.

‘The power of the original author must be saved. So, let’s use extras that haven’t been contaminated yet.’

Lise decided to use Princess Catherine to get Edith into trouble during the Internationale Hall and prepared for it. Because the preparations for the Imperial fest proceeded similarly to the original work, Lise found a sense of stability. Cliff called the most expensive dresser in the capital and ordered her a beautiful dress, and the Duke and Duchess of Ludwig brought out her ‘Lorraine glow’.

‘Yes, the main character is me!’

But as soon as she could think that, the door to the Duchess’s office opened and Killian and Edith came in.

“Everyone is here. We just got back.”

Killian was smiling, but Lise noticed that he was very angry, and that his eyes were fixed on ‘Lorraine’s light.’

“What will you give to your daughter-in-law, Edith?”

The Duchess responded with embarrassment at his fierce gaze.

“How about letting Edith choose? Anything is okay.”

“Oh, that would be nice. Edith. How about that necklace?”

“Yes? Um, that one?”

“It’s the Ludwig family’s treasure. You will probably have priority. How about wearing that necklace to the National Foundation Festival?”

It was absurd. Although Lise lived <House and Envoy> several times, this was the first time she was in danger of losing the ‘Light of Lorraine’. However, Edith actually calmed Killian down.

“It is a truly beautiful and precious gem, but I will politely decline this time. Besides, I think it would suit Lise, who has blue eyes, better than me.”

“But…”

“And if you have a keen sense of taste, you would know that that necklace doesn’t go well with the dress you tailored today.”

Edith’s calm attitude made Killian take a step back. But Lise felt defeated.

‘I can’t believe I have Lorraine’s light that’s to Edith’s compassion…!’

It was always her who was looking down from above. These were words that meant that he, the creator and protagonist of this world, should not be pushed aside by a mere human possession. Her pride was severely hurt, so when Lise went to meet Princess Catherine, she brought up the ‘poison embroidery thread incident’ as a topic, and said that she suspected it was the work of the Count Sinclair family, but cleverly made up the story to make Edith suspicious. As Lise had expected, Catherine was suspicious of Edith.

‘If this is the case, at least she will be disgraced in the social world.’

Lise waited for the founding of the nation, expecting to see Edith embarrassed in front of everyone.

* * *

Tak.

Knock knock.

Inside the carriage heading to the imperial palace to attend the National Foundation Ceremony. Lise had been paying attention to the strange sound coming from somewhere earlier.

‘What is this sound? By any chance, does this mean the story will be twisted?’

She looked around nervously and eventually asked Cliff.

“Don’t you think there’s a strange noise coming from somewhere earlier?”

But Cliff seemed to already know what that sound was.

“It might be two friendly canaries pecking at the carriage.”

“What?”

Lise was shocked to see Edith and Killian finally apologizing.

‘How dare you show affection in front of me?’

Although there had been signs of this before, it was clear that the two were now in love and couldn’t hide it.

‘Damn. If I had had a little more strength, I would have been able to achieve this in the founding of the country…’

Unfortunately, Lise did not have much stregth left in her. Because she had to reserve a certain amount of power in case of an emergency. In the end, Lise entered the imperial palace, trusting only Princess Catherine.

Princess Catherine led the episode in the same way as the original story to help Lise stand out. The Count Sinclair’s siblings also turned an earthy color as they watched Lise being greeted by the other ladies as they followed behind the princess.

‘Yes, Count Sinclair is still a villain for me.’

Behind the princess, Lise was making various calculations while looking extremely pure and humble. On the surface, this episode seemed to flow similarly to the original, but if you look closely, there was actually a separate narrative for Edith. That was the case when the Duchess arrived wearing the dress that Edith had chosen for her.

‘I wore the dress I chose to a bazaar, but to wear the dress Edith chose to the Imperial Festival, I feel like I’m left behind.’

Both were well-received by people, but the scale of the event was different, so in the end, Edith’s victory was in the end. Not only that, but Killian and Edith were showing off more affection than Cliff and she, which caught people’s attention. Not only did they dance so passionately that they caught everyone’s attention, the two threw Count Rigelhof off and went out onto the balcony. The ladies who had a crush on Killian were always focused on them, so the level of interest in Lise decreased compared to the original work. Even Layla Sinclair’s jealousy, which should have been directed towards Lise, seemed to be completely directed towards Edith.

‘But Princess Catherine will be good to you. As for Catherine, she has never met Edith and there is no room for her to be contaminated.’

In that way, Lise only trusted Catherine. Sure enough, when Catherine made eye contact with her, she walked straight towards Edith and insulted her to her face.

“Was she the daughter of the Rigelhof family? The marriage itself was an unreasonable request from the Rigelhof family, right? That house is so shameless…”

“Majesty…!”

“Oh! I heard that too. I heard that Lise was poisoned not long ago? You knew how close Lise and I were, so why didn’t you tell me?”

“That’s Lise…”

“Because the woman called your wife is a suspect?”

Lise cheered Catherine on, measuring when she should approach. But this time, the ambusher was Killian. When Catherine insulted Edith, Killian became enraged and actively defended Edith.

“Interesting, Killian. As if you never loved Lise…”

“Just as Your Majesty gave up her feelings for Cliff because he loves Lise, the same goes for me. Isn’t clinging desperately to a hopeless love something you wouldn’t do, even to Lise?”

That was the first ‘declaration of giving up’ that came out of Killian’s mouth. Lise felt even more impatient as she watched Killian completely lose his status as a sub-male. So she had no choice but to intervene in an episode that he had originally intended to leave to Catherine alone. This was because it seemed like something much bigger would happen if Killian was left to get angry. However, even Lise was not enough to calm Killian’s anger.

“Lise, did you tell His Majesty about that incident?”

The cold gaze of Killian, whom she had never seen before, sent shivers down Lise’s spine.

‘Why on earth did this happen? Was the problem that it was left to Catherine’s hot-tempered personality?

Killian continued to protest to Katrin despite the presence of Lise, and in the end, Catherine had no choice but to grit her teeth and apologize to Killian and Edith. It would have been better if it had ended there.

“If you care so much about Killian, why don’t you stop your father?”

“I tried my best to persuade you, but…”

“You really tried to stop Count Rigelhof from joining the Archduke Langston? Are you sure you understood me correctly?”

Edith lowered her eyebrows and smiled faintly. He revealed his situation by cleverly avoiding his restrictions. Then even Catherine began to change her attitude.

“Umm… Sorry. I thought that Killian was living on a leash because of the marriage that she had pushed through through cowardice, and I also thought that Lise was being harassed.”

After apologizing, Catherine burst into laughter when Edith told her that she had wanted to go to greet her, but that she was timid and had hesitated. At that smile, she noticed a look of surprise on the faces of the nobles who had been glancing in her direction earlier. Lise realized that the ‘Princess’s Confidant’ title, which should have been hers alone, was split in half.

‘Edith is becoming more and more the main character! We need to try something quickly before it becomes harder to kill him because he’s a main character.’

Although the original author did not have much strength left, Lise felt cornered and planned the assassination of Edith. It was fortunate that the novel included a passing line about the man who followed Edith. Lise gave him the name ‘Fred Sicily’ and added the setting that he was half-crazed by Edith. As she quickly created a setting that didn’t exist, her strength drained away like water. After gathering all the possibilities she could, and even using Layla Sinclair and Duke Ludwig, Lise herself took Edith to the scene of the incident. This was after confirming that Killian was going out that morning.

‘There will be no one around who can help Edith, so she will succeed this time.’

Edith, who was completely unaware of this situation, treated Lise like a close friend. Lise would have had quite a good time if her opponent hadn’t come to ruin her story. However, what was important to Lise was the world in which she was the protagonist. Lise took the bait with her coy voice.

“Edith. Do you like romance novels that are a little bit erotic?”

Edith took the bait as if she had seized the opportunity to become friends.

“When it comes to sexy romance novels, <Millane Bookstore> is more famous. Would you like to go together?”

Without knowing that it was a guide to her death, Edith accepted Lise’s offer and entered the dark alley. The time was approaching noon.

‘Fred Sicily will appear soon.’

Fred Sicily had not been able to sleep properly for two days after picking up information that Leila had intentionally spilled at a tea party held at his home the day before yesterday.

“Edith Riegelhoff is going to the <Millen Bookstore> near Rue de l’Ebelmarie around noon the day after tomorrow. For her to use a bookstore that sells such obscene books, it’s understandable what level she is.”

That bit of information was enough to make a stalker with a twisted desire set out to find Edith.

  1. Сабира Усманова says:

Уух… а ведь Лиза изначально могла все остановить, подружиться, и жить обычной жизнью

  2. Yonshi says:

I find this very ironic. If all this time it would be real Lisa, not K, then yes, plot with Edith would be different. But girls also would be really good friends and maybe K would not lost all her authority because she would not spend all her energy in attempts to kill Edith? And at least others episodes could be just like in original.
But lol, what we have is what we have.
And a lot of thanks for translation!

    1. Zeel says:

I think you’re forgetting that Lize herself does not exist. She never did. K created Lize as herself, something she wanted to be. Lize is just an empty shell for K to reside in and pretend however she wants. Which, if you think about it, is a lot better than an actual Lize existing. Because even the real Lize was evil enough to play string along both men till the end and pretend to be a goodie two shoes while doing it. Modesty can only exist so much until it becomes willful ignorance while enjoying the spotlight.

    2. A says:

I think you’re forgetting that the author herself is Lise. Ahe created that character. Thus she herself is Lise. She was calling the shots. She made everything as she wanted.

      1. RJR says:

If you allow me to say a word, in a sense you all are right and I think we can agree she is a crazy bi*** (sorry for using hard words)

        Thanks for reading!

  3. Kari says:

    Thank you RJR!
Wow seems like they are gonna go through each and every incident in Lizard’s perspective… ok this gonna take a few more chapters. I just really want to get to the reason why she’s in the imperial prison. I’m hoping it’s her downfall and they will remove her from the duchy, exiled from the kingdom or executed. Wonder if Cliff put her there cuz he’s fed up with her 😂 we shall see.

    1. RJR says:

Yes, you are right… but at the end I think you will like it 3:)

      1. Astarria says:

Oooh RJR you are teasing! Don’t get my hopes up cuz I wanna see this psycho crash and burn 😈

  7. Yu Yue says:

    Thanks for the chapter!!!!!
Seeing K’s perspective really makes me angry. Knowing how she was in her past life and all she did after becoming Lize, the last twelve times and now, I don’t see how this could end well for her. Since she is so self-centered, mean and ungrateful, eventually someone would end her party and make her lose her powers, and, with that personality, her destiny could only be as it is now or worse.
I hope we can finish it soon. I really want to go back to Edith, Killian and their children.
