I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

Special 11. Flashback (4)

‘Even though she died once and possessed a character, she was still alive in this world. Any living being would instinctively try to avoid death…’

After thinking carefully, Lise slowly decided on the third level exception conditions.

[Level 3 exception conditions have been set. Stage 3 Exception Condition: Does not resist mortality.]

It was a terrible paradox: if you tried to live, you would die, and if you tried to die, you would live.

‘The only problem is that Edith may give up at the last moment…’

She wanted to impose conditions that made no sense, such as ‘I accept death happily,’ but these ‘conditions’ had limitations. That’s exactly what it meant to not deviate from probability. The condition of not resisting the fate of death was accepted because there was even a slight possibility of Edith giving up in the story. So, there was just that much risk probability.

‘But I can’t think of a condition stronger than this.’

Feeling a sense of enlightenment, Lise decided that from now on she would try to kill Edith herself.

However, Killian, who had largely escaped Lise’s control, acted as if he was a character who existed solely to love Edith. Killian, who brought Edith to tea time, was no longer ‘the sub-male lead who has a crush on Lise Sinclair’. His eyes were glued to Edith the whole time. The two pushed towards each other and exchanged secret glances, as if they didn’t even care about Lise and Cliff. At that time, Lise asked Killian with an innocent face.

“But Killian. I’m sorry, but could you please go to Le Belle Marie Street with me next Friday? I received a call that the shoes I ordered with Killian a while back were finished.”

“Ah! So much time has already passed.”

“Yes. It’s okay if you’re busy…”

“No, no. Let’s go together, okay?”

Killian answered lightly without paying attention to Edith.

‘Yes, there is still room to bring back Killian.’

The remaining 30% of control did not seem completely useless. Lise smiled in remorse as she looked at Edith, who was trying hard to hide her disappointment. But a few days later, the Count Sinclair family suddenly came to the mansion. That too, aiming to take Edith’s place.

‘Why is the Count Sinclair family becoming Edith’s enemy instead of mine?’

This was a pretty bad sign. In order for Lise to become the main character, clear villains had to attack her, but that power was weakening. The change in direction to target Edith also meant that Edith was becoming the main character. Lise suppressed his urgent feelings and waited for her time to go out with Killian. Because she had to change Killian’s heart that day.

Lise urged Killian, who kept hesitating in front of Edith, to head towards Le Belle Marie Street, showing him a lot of smiles and charms that she did not show him often.

“Look at that, Killian! So cute!”

“Cute. Should I buy it for you?”

This was where Killian differs from the male protagonist, Cliff. Cliff didn’t ask, ‘Shall I buy it for you?’ He just smiled and nodded, and later sent all the things Lise pointed out to Rize’s room as gifts. But Killian’s attitude right now wasn’t bad. She was sure he had never bought Edith a gift like this before. However, as the date at Le Belle Marie continued, Lise began to become more and more bothered by Killian’s words and actions. She already didn’t like the thought of taking Edith down to the estate, and she also felt bad about saying in the shoe store, ‘I’ll be stopping by with my wife soon.’

‘What? I’m trying on shoes right now. Then you should focus on me!’

Lise, who was in a really bad mood, tried to find fault.

“But I think we should also take Edith’s tastes into consideration. Edith likes things a little more flashy.”

“I thought that was the case too, but it seems like her tastes have changed a lot since we got married. I didn’t know she was such a pragmatist.”

Killian’s expression as he smiled while thinking of Edith was somewhat different from the face he smiled when he looked at Lise earlier. In the end, Lise made up her mind and even wrapped her arms around Killian. However, Killian only glanced down at Lise with his arms crossed, and he did not react in any way. Rather, he ruined Lise’s mood even more by showing that he was bored even at the accessory store he went into for Lise. Killian was quite happy when he suddenly asked to stop by somewhere, and what he chose was Edith’s gift, not Lise’s.

“Did Edith ask you to buy her something?”

“No. It’s not like that, but I don’t think I’ve ever bought her anything of value…”

“Did you? I think Killian took good care of Edith… You bought her a necklace before!”

“…Are you talking about the day Cliff gave you the rest of the jewels?”

Lise never expected to receive this kind of attack from Killian. Of course, he seemed to think that what happened that day was Cliff’s fault, not Lise’s, but if it were the old Killian, he wouldn’t have even remembered what happened then. Tired of holding back and holding on, Lise eventually returned home with the excuse that she was tired.

When Killian returned, instead of taking Lise to her room, he headed to Edith’s room with Edith’s gift.

‘How can things change so much?’

Lise could no longer say she knew anything about the character Killian. He was a complete stranger. However, Lise also had a strong ally by her side.

“Wow, what is all this?”

“Cliff!”

Yes. The male lead, Cliff, was a character just for Lise. He seemed to be upset by the fact that Lise had been out with Killian, and surprisingly, he had even foreshadowed an incident that could lead to Edith’s death.

“Wishing my brother and his wife to be happy, I told her a few ways to win Killian’s favor…”

“What did you tell her?”

“Killian likes to go sailing on the lake.”

“Yacht on the lake…”

The episode of the ‘yacht capsize accident’ quickly unfolded in Lise’s mind. Cliff whispered to Lise.

“Lise, I exist only for you. I will give you whatever you desire.”

“Really… for me?”

“Of course. I will always just adore you. My goddess of spring.”

Lise smiled as she kissed Cliff, but inside she pondered a sad thought.

‘I know. Because you are a character I created like that.’

That’s why she didn’t like Killian more, as he moved against his creator’s will.

* * *

The day before Killian went sailing with Edith, Lise put his plan into action as it got dark outside.

“Oh my gosh, where did it go?”

“What’s wrong, Lise?”

“Oh, Cliff! You came?”

Lise sat Cliff, who had come to drink tea, at the table and continued searching every nook and cranny of the dresser.

“What are you looking for so much?”

“Oh, that’s… My favorite earrings are gone.”

“Earring?”

“Yes. These are the pearl earrings the duchess bought me…”

Cliff began to show interest in Lise, who seemed somewhat nervous and anxious.

“When was the last time you wore them?”

“When was it… ah! It was when we went yachting last time!”

“Are you talking about the day on my yacht?”

“Yes. Did I spill it there…?”

Lise became restless and took out her jewelry box, which she had already searched through earlier.

“I’ll go to the yacht and take a look.”

“Oh, no! It was too late…”

“It’s fine.”

After thanking Cliff several times, Lise sent the mercenaries she had purchased in advance.

Since she knew which screws needed to be loosened, it seemed like the job wouldn’t fail.

And the next morning, Lise showed signs that she wanted to go boating. If she could follow, she would be able to kill Edith with greater certainty. But Killian drew a clear line.

“Let’s all go together next time.”

Although Lise felt a little disappointed, she smiled calmly and shook his hand.

‘But still, there is no way for you to survive. Bye-bye, 13th Edith.’

She hoped that the body would be found later and look like a horrible, swollen corpse. And Lise spent the morning leisurely waiting for news of Edith’s death. As noon approached, Lise heard system guidance in her head.

[When Edith Ludwig dies as a villainess, the story returns to its original track. 3 minutes until her death.]

‘It goes as planned.’

Lise looked out the window with a smile on her face. The weather was nice. It was a perfect day for Lise Sinclair to get back on track as a protagonist. However…

[When Edith Ludwig dies as a villainess, the story returns to its original track. 5 minutes until death.]

‘Huh? Why is there another guide?’

It must have been about 3 minutes since the announcement was made earlier. Additionally, the time until death increased.

‘Something… They’re interfering with Edith’s death…!’

It was obvious without even looking what that ‘something’ was.

‘Killian!’

He was once an ardent admirer of Lise, but now he was struggling to save Edith. And after a while, she heard guidance that she could not have imagined.

[Edith Ludwig survives.]

‘What…? Oh, no!’

[Some of the original work’s flow was broken due to the original author’s excessive intervention. The original was further damaged. The control of the original author is weakening.]

It was a terrible story. Because they put all their effort into this project without knowing that it would fail, Lise’s control was already weakening even though the 3rd stage exception conditions were not met. Soon, there was an uproar in the mansion. Killian, drenched and soaked, came back carrying Edith, unconscious but still alive.

“Call the congressman right away! Right now!”

She was truly unfamiliar with Killian screaming desperately while holding a woman who was not her.

Lize is clearly a narcissist phsychopath. Wanting someone to die without a bit of remorse. It’s sickening. I hope she dies in that dungeon.
