I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

Special 6. Dream

Since becoming pregnant, she had slept more and dreamed a lot more. However, it was rare for her to remember her dreams, but one day when Sandal was approaching, she had a truly vivid dream.

‘Uh? This smell…’

There was a smell that she had long forgotten, but could not forget at all. It was the damp, damp smell that came from the landing of an old multi-family house.

“Fuck, oh, really, fuck!”

Someone was muttering. And somehow she felt like she knew who it was.

“Is she really dead? Oh, I’m going crazy!”

As expected, it was her brother. Every time he opened his mouth, the smell of alcohol wafted out. Her brother came down the stairs and put his hand under her nose, which was lying on the floor, then went back up the stairs and walked around again.

“Calm down, let’s calm down for now… I have to run away.”

It was then that her brother, who was looking around to see if there were any witnesses, turned his gaze to her bag on the floor.

‘There’s no way he can just go.’

She was looking down at her brother rummaging through her bag, as if she was expecting something to happen. Even though her brother was shaking, he found her wallet, put it in his arms, and then ran away. She didn’t feel any affection as a blood relative. However, as expected, her brother was quickly caught. He got cash advances from various places using her card, so there was no way they wouldn’t be on his tail. Her brother was captured on CCTV at a convenience store with a CD machine. He even bought cigarettes with her card at a nearby convenience store in the early morning after being addicted to gambling all night…

‘Ugh, that idiot.’

Her brother ran away from the police who came in, but after he was caught, he was dragged away obediently, as if he had given up on everything.

The scene changed and a familiar place unfolded before her eyes. This was the company she worked for.

“What is really going on? This is the first time in my life that I have been a witness to an incident that was on the news.”

One coworker whispered to another classmate. However, the expressions on their faces were closer to interest and curiosity than regret or sadness. Rather, Ahn Young-eun, who hit her on the back of the head, and Manager Park, who was irritated with her, looked even worse.

“I feel so bad. The day Sona died, I did something really mean to Sona.”

“What? What happened?”

“There is such a thing. But I didn’t know that would be my last time with Sona.”

“Hey, it’s already happened, and even if you regret it, she won’t come back. Forget it quickly.”

While Ahn Young-eun was talking to someone in her company via messenger, she sighed.

At that time, Manager Park hung up the phone call with someone and slowly stood up, looked around, and said.

“Well, after work today, I’d like two or three people to go to Sona’s funeral as a representative… Is there anyone who wants to go?”

Then Ahn Young-eun raised her hand.

“I’ll go.”

“Uh, yes, Mr. Young-eun. Well then, me and Young-eun… Is there anyone else who can go?”

Even if everyone was watching nobody raise their hands. In the end, a new person who didn’t even know her well joined the mourning ranks.

‘This is also funny. None of the people I thought were close to me came.’

She half expected it, but seeing it with her own eyes gave her a sense of disappointment. They said nothing the entire way to her funeral. Then Manager Park opened his mouth heavily.

“Why was I so irritated that day?”

“Yes? Manager, what?”

The newbie, who knew nothing, seemed to be trying to please the manager by following his opinion.

“The day Choi Sona died… I got really angry over something that really wasn’t a big deal. Even though I could see that the child was embarrassed, I was annoyed at the time…”

“Chief…”

Ahn Young-eun, who was sitting next to him, couldn’t even say that she had turned on her and was only chewing her lips.

“Did you really think it would go like this… ha… Still, she said those were her last words to someone who had worked really diligently since joining the company, so… I’m so sorry.”

Manager Park’s face looked really confused. At that time, she heard a sobbing sound next to her. Ahn Young-eun was about to burst into tears.

“Me too… I also feel very sorry towards Sona… Ugh…”

Manager Park nodded his head as if he understood everything and tapped Ahn Young-eun on the shoulder a couple of times, leaving the rookie who knew nothing confused. As expected, there were not many customers at my funeral. She didn’t have many friends, so most of the mourners were relatives. Her father was smoking a cigarette, and her mother was complaining to her aunt with tears in her eyes.

“I don’t know why my arms are so fierce. There are only two children, one who is sick and upset from a young age, and the other who is upset because he behaves like a fool… Oh my, I really like it, sister.”

“Ugh… Sona, don’t just pretend that I’m already gone. Soo-chan, what are you going to do with that?”

“I heard that if the family pleads for leniency, the sentence will be reduced, but by how much…”

Nobody mentioned the fact that her brother killed her. They were just worried about her brother waiting for trial.

‘I wasn’t expecting anything special, but… It’s bittersweet.’

As she sighed, the scene in front of me blurred and another familiar place appeared. It was her room. The funeral must have already ended, as her mom and dad were packing up her belongings.

“Oh my, Sona… Sona…”

“This desperate thing…!”

She wondered why they were suddenly like that, but her mom was crying while looking at her household account book, and her dad was looking at her closet with red eyes around his eyes. In the household account book, it was written when and how much money was stolen from her by her brother and how the money was split and spent. On the days when she couldn’t resist the urge and ordered something, she even put an asterisk to emphasize it out of guilt…

“Ugh… The only thing you eat outside once a month is a pizza worth 10,000 won, you bitch…!”

Mom wiped her face with her handkerchief and cried. There were some of her clothes hanging in her closet that her dad was opening and looking at.

“This damn girl… When on earth did I buy these clothes? Still…”

Her dad cried when he looked at the coat he bought her when she graduated from middle school.

‘Now that I think about it, I’ve been wearing that for over 10 years…’

The coat, which she deliberately bought in a generous size because she thought it would be bigger, was a piece of clothing she wore sparingly and took care of. At that time, it was the first and last expensive clothes her dad bought with great enthusiasm. It was a coat that still didn’t look out of place as it had a decent design, but the polished sleeves and hips looked a bit out of place.

“Oh, Sona, I’m sorry! I’m sorry for not being able to be a mother to you, Sona!”

Her mother cried bitterly as she hit the floor, and her father also covered his eyes with his hands and turned his head away. It seemed like her parents were finally feeling her absence. Seeing that, she actually felt at ease.

‘Thank god. But I… It wasn’t a meaningless existence.’

She felt sorry for her parents, but she felt like all the resentment from her past life was finally relieved. As she was smiling with satisfaction, the scene before her eyes changed again.

‘Uh?’

It was her ex-boyfriend who broke up with her right before she died. He was sitting blankly in his room with a somewhat mesmerized expression. His cell phone kept spitting out messages.

“Hey! I heard that Ms. C, who lives in ○○-dong, has died. Doesn’t your girlfriend also live in ○○-dong? I’m sure she’s not your girlfriend, right?”

“They said she was killed by her own brother. But didn’t your girlfriend have a brother too? It’s a bit creepy.”

“Hey, but what are you doing today? I heard you closed the company?”

His friends joked about the story about ‘Miss C who was murdered by her own brother’ that was spread on the Internet. It seemed like he had no idea that Miss C was her. But my ex-boyfriend seemed to be slowly realizing that it was her.

“Sona… Please answer the phone, please…”

He picked up his cell phone again and called her. At first glance, the screen read “Sona Choi (42).” She thought he called her about 42 times.

[The phone is turned off, so it connects to the voice mail…]

He hung up the phone after hearing the voice guidance he had heard several times, then opened the last message she sent him again.

“Honey~ I’m confirmed to work overtime and on the weekend todayㅠㅗㅠ I’m sorry. See you next week. I’ll buy you something delicious♡ (6:08 PM)”

[Pretty girl♥Suna: Ugh, okay. I’m fine, so don’t overdo it. (6:09 p.m.)]

“Yes. Thanks for understanding. (6:09 p.m.)

[Pretty girl♥Suna: You said you were working overtime, but it looks like the woman you are holding hands with is your boss? It seemed like the two of you were working really hard. Bone buried in your rectum. Please do not contact me in the future. (7:42 p.m.)]

Water droplets fell on it.

“Sona, I’m sorry, I’m sorry… I was really wrong… Suna… Ugh, what should I do, what should I do, Suna…”

He cried, shaking his body and holding his cell phone tightly. She had never seen him cry this much. Well, if she had gone on a date with him that day as planned, she might have avoided the fate of dying at her brother’s hands for a while. He seemed to think that her death was his fault because of that. But unless her brother came to his senses, it could have happened at any time.

She stood there for a while, listening to him constantly apologize.

‘Thank you for being sorry. I’m doing well, so you can forget about me and live well.’

For some reason, tears came to her eyes, but she knew. These people would eventually overcome the sadness of this moment and survive. Just like she was doing.

When she woke up and opened her wet eyes, Killian was sleeping next to her. He massaged her limbs and feet until she fell asleep, but that might not be easy after a tiring day at work. However, Killian gave her a massage every day.

‘Okay. This person is the man I got.’

If it weren’t for her past life experiences and memories, she might have missed this person too. An ecstatic love that she had never dreamed of in her past life. Now that she had received this kind of love, she had no regrets left over from her past life. She lightly kissed Killian’s sleeping cheek.

“Hmm…? Edith…?”

She loved Killian calling her with a deep voice.

“I love you, Killian.”

“I love you, Edith.”

Killian didn’t even wake up, but he told her he loved her and hugged her warmly.

‘I will truly live this life without regrets. Even Choi Sona’s part in my past life, without regrets.’

She felt overwhelmed and made a firm resolution.

These chapters are very soothing. This author knows exactly what I need, even showed what the people in her old life went on after her death. It’s exactly how I wanted them to be! And I hope her parents regret the way they treated her very very very much.

Only good things for my girl Edith! She deserves it!!!

  2. Bubbly_BingeReaderRN says:

It was nice to know how the people in her past life were when she passed away. Too late for their regret… Im so glad Edith is with someone who really knows her value.

  3. Astarria says:

Oooh I’m glad she saw what happened after she fell and see all the people regret their treatment of her. It’s a lovely way of closure and letting go so she can move on without thinking back on it. And Killian sleeping telling her he loved her is killing me.

  4. Solan says:

Ok now im crying again for her..

  6. Izza says:

Im happy we got to see what happened in her og life after she died, but its also really sad to me.
All these people who cried or felt bad in the chapter didnt cry because they really missed her, or were sad because she died, but feels more like they’re sad because they feel guilt after they treated her like trash.
Im glad they’re feeling regret tho! Edith deserves to be happy in her new life with no regrets
