Would You Like to Have a Drink

Chapter 48.1

It was really difficult to dissuade Mu Yuanlong, Zong Luo half push half come and still ordered his servants to prepare a good horse, intending to go to the Xuan Cavalry barracks. (TL: Describe the willingness in the heart, but pretend to refuse on the surface.)

Originally, on the first day when his identity was restored, he planned to have a long talk with Imperial Censor Xue.

This old man was a staunch Conservative Party member. He was a hard nut to crack, had survived two dynasties of emperors, and a stable, firm and strict Great Yuan elder. He also had a lot of criticism against the current Great Yuan’s tyranny, conversely, he was very optimistic about the Third Prince Zong Luo.

Not only that, Imperial Censor Xue also helped him a lot in his previous life, including at the critical moment when the Imperial City was besieged. When the Fifth Prince forced the emperor to abdicate, at the crucial moment of the Sixth Prince’s rebellion and when he was jointly slandered and imprisoned, where he was in a precarious state. Under such circumstances, he went as far as to even risk his life to let his subordinates deliver a secret letter to Zong Luo, which could be said to be a show of exceeding loyalty.

In his previous life, Zong Luo was unable to fend for himself. The last time he received a secret letter, Imperial Censor Xue said that Emperor Yuan had regained consciousness  and had already begun to reorganize the imperial court and settle the rebellion and the rebel party. After that, there was no further information.

Assuming, since Emperor Yuan ordered him to commit suicide, and Imperial Censor Xue, such an unyielding person, could also do something like smashing his head to death on the pillar of the court hall, he’s afraid that it would be more ominous than propitious.

“If His Excellency Xue comes, remember to treat him well and not neglect him.”

He repeatedly advised the servant and placed a brocade box on the table in the study.

Generally speaking, after knowing that he was now blind and amnesiac, originally, those courtiers who were standing on his side would not rush to clarify their position, but would rather wait and watch the development of things.

But Imperial Censor Xue was upright and stubborn, did things his own way, and didn’t care about other people’s eyes. After hearing of Zong Luo’s return, there would be a high possibility of coming to find him today.

It just so happened that Imperial Censor Xue had an old problem of back pain, and he had two imperial physicians in his residence, just in time to help take a look at him, so as not to be too impolite when the master of the house was absent.

One for Gu Ziyuan, one for Imperial Censor Xue.

Zong Luo felt as if he had discovered a new use for the imperial physicians.

There were not many imperial physicians in the palace, there were five in total, but each of them was the reincarnation of a highly skilled doctor. In the past, witchcraft, alchemy, and the practice of therapy, and diagnosis were all-powerful, anything was possible. In addition, there was the Great Witch who was only directly under the orders of Emperor Yuan.

In short, these imperial physicians were very difficult to move on weekdays. Unless one had a big face, otherwise, ordinary courtiers may not be able to move them even if they bring a full amount of consultation fee. For Emperor Yuan to immediately assign him two,  it could as well be considered as generous. (TL: Refers to the style of doing things and spending money; ostentation.)

After he was finished giving orders, Zong Luo left the mansion together with Mu Yuanlong and the others.

“Oh, that’s right, this subject has heard that His Highness has lost his memory..?”

“There is such a thing.”

Zong Luo understated, “The Great Witch treated me once during the Qingsi, and now I am slowly remembering something.”

The memory should also be recovered “ in a clear and ordered pattern “, and it is not necessary to be kept hidden in front of his own people.

The Great Witch usually retreated in the Great Witch Temple on weekdays, except for Emperor Yuan, none was able to meet with the Great Witch, thus this “bearing the fault for others” is very stable.

He added a sentence, “I remember a lot of things like how I used to live together with everyone in the army.”

Sure enough, Mu Yuanlong and the several Xuan Cavalry men’s eyebrows hooked up with a joyful look, without any slightest suspicion.

“Your Highness, if that’s the case, then what about the eyes…?”

After he finished speaking, he realized that this was a bit inappropriate, and quickly turned to look at Zong Luo’s expression, immediately changing the topic. “This subject means, uh, this subject pleads guilty to His Highness.”

Mu Yuanlong felt that there were too many things he needed to apologize for.

First, he failed to recognize the Third Highness, spouted a stream of empty rhetoric in the camp and severely criticized the soldier who had mistakenly identified him. Again, because of uncertainty, as a result, went directly to the imperial court to file a complaint, using his resignation as an excuse, and wanted His Majesty to bear in mind this opportunistic person.

Recalling the past not so long ago, Mu Yuanlong wished to give himself a slap in the face.

Then when Zhao Yebai broke free from the reins and left, presumably it’s none other than for recognizing the owner. And not only did it not have the slightest doubt, but it also made so many surprising tricks which were unlike that of a horse.

Mu Yuanlong was not a person who liked to avoid mistakes.

So he stood in front of Zong Luo seriously, and counted his crimes one by one. He even thought that perhaps His Highness may not fully remember the past, therefore he provided strict explanations of several of the crimes.

Zong Luo laughingly said, “I only lost my memory, I haven’t lost my normal thinking ability yet. The few things you said just now are not big problems, only—last year, Xuan Cavalry was unable to attack Nanliang for a long time, and eventually the King of Beining took the lead?”

He’s aware that the King of Beining was the number one enemy of His Highness, the kind that he couldn’t forget even if he loses his memory.

On ordinary days, they and the Tianji Army often saw each other as an eyesore. In front of the Tianji Army, which had always been detested, the disgraced Xuan Cavalry General lowered his head in shame.

Fortunately, Zong Luo did not hold any hope for Mu Yuanlong’s usual EQ. It could be seen that the group of them carefully avoided the topic of eyes during the conversation, but unexpectedly, they still failed.

He didn’t continue the issue of the ‘pleading guilty’, but instead followed Mu Yuanlong’s previous topic.

“His Majesty has ordered the Imperial Medical Courtyard to treat me. Perhaps there is still hope.”

Anyway, at present it’s just pretending to be blind but not really blind.

Steward Liao, who happened to come over to move things, and heard this, said with a smile, “That’s indeed so, this old slave is also worried about His Highness’s body. General Mu, you must remember to repeatedly advise His Highness to cooperate with the treatment. Three doses of medicine per day, enter the palace every three days, be less angry and avoid spicy foods.”

Mu Yuanlong immediately turned serious, wishing he could take a piece of paper to record it down, and  earnestly repent and reform former faults. “This subject will remember!”

Zong Luo: “…..”

You will still keep this in mind.

When leaving the mansion, Mu Yuanlong subconsciously wanted to go up to give him a hand, but he saw Zong Luo stepping over the threshold like it was nothing, took the reins from the stableman’s hand, and blithely turned over and mounted the horse.

The general was stunned for a moment, then pretended nothing had happened, and withdrew his hand.

He actually forgot, although His Highness was blind, but his martial arts was still there.

Mu Yuanlong recalled his wild and extractable self in those years, speaking out provocatively and his extreme dissatisfaction of the “appearing out of nowhere” general. As a result, Zong Luo took him to the martial arts arena on the outskirts of the city. Qixing Longyuan came out of his sheath, and like a rainbow piercing the sun, effortlessly struck him under the sword.

After beating, Zong Luo stretched out his hand towards him.
