Wealthy Female Partners Don't Want To Go Bankrupt

Tong Yuwu’s heels throbbed slightly, but she still held onto Fu Liheng’s arm without changing her expression, walking on the smooth, visible marble floor of the shopping mall. She was impressed with herself. She hadn’t found a suitable shawl for her outfit, which was meticulously designed by a famous designer, from the fabric to the intricate embroidery on the cheongsam. A well-chosen shawl would enhance the overall look, but the mall surprisingly lacked the right one.

However, Tong Yuwu didn’t leave empty-handed. The mall in the city center housed well-known brands, and though she didn’t find the right shawl, she impulsively bought two pairs of high-heeled sandals. Perhaps caught up in the moment, she even ended up in a lingerie store.

The lingerie store wasn’t just about selling underwear; it also had a wide variety of sleepwear taking up most of the space.

In fact, there was no awkwardness between the couple while browsing the lingerie store. After all, they had shared many intimate moments, and at this point, blushing like young girls would be an exaggeration.

Calmly, Tong Yuwu selected a set of deep blue silk sleepwear for Fu Liheng, feeling the soft texture.

While Fu Liheng appeared composed, Tong Yuwu sensed his unease. Could this be the first time he accompanied a woman to a lingerie store?

With this thought in mind, Tong Yuwu’s mood improved, and a cheerful saleswoman approached them, holding up a new sleep dress. “Miss, this is our latest design, just arrived yesterday. Your fair skin and great figure make it perfect for you.”

The saleswoman’s tone and smile carried a hint of flirtation.

She had just heard the pretty lady call the tall and handsome man beside her “husband.”

Whether they were truly a couple or deeply in love, shopping together in such a store indicated a certain level of intimacy. Tong Yuwu’s reaction to any suggestive hints from the saleswoman would hardly matter, especially in front of Ah Jiang Lock Chapter.

The sleep dress the saleswoman recommended was indeed beautiful, and Tong Yuwu instantly fell in love with it.

It was a black deep V-neck silk dress, stopping just above the thighs, with a lightweight robe draped over it like a gossamer…

“Do you like it?” Fu Liheng noticed Tong Yuwu’s fixation on the sleepwear and spoke up. “If you like it, have the saleswoman wrap it up.”

Ultimately, Tong Yuwu purchased the sleep dress, and the couple left the store, leaving behind the satisfied smile of the saleswoman.

Although the impromptu shopping spree only lasted half an hour, it successfully diverted Tong Yuwu’s attention away from her earlier thoughts about the system.

As they exited the lingerie store and ran into Qin Yi, Tong Yuwu was instantly taken aback.

Qin Yi had come to fix his watch. The treasured timepiece on his wrist had been a gift from Tong Yuwu years ago. This brand was nearly gone from Yanjing, and the only remaining counter was in this mall. He had intended to inquire about changing the watchband, but he unexpectedly encountered her.

Seeing her arm in arm with Fu Liheng, smiling, Qin Yi’s expression dimmed instantly. He, being Qin Yi, should have turned away immediately, but he didn’t want to show weakness in front of Fu Liheng.

Even less did he want to appear so feeble before her.

In the circles of Yanjing, it was both large and small. Qin Yi had to call Fu Liheng “senior brother.” While neither the Fu nor the Qin families were aristocrats, they had some interactions. Those in Qin Yi’s circle were wary of Fu Liheng, especially since Tong Yuwu married him. If Tong Yuwu had married someone else, his friends would have certainly helped him regain some footing. Unfortunately, Tong Yuwu married Fu Liheng, and even behind closed doors, they didn’t dare speak ill of him.

Qin Yi tried to ignore Tong Yuwu, but his gaze involuntarily shifted in her direction. He struggled to maintain composure, greeted politely, “Mr. Fu, hello.”

Fu Liheng’s expression remained calm. He gave Qin Yi a quick glance and replied, “Hmm.”

Tong Yuwu’s confusion did not escape Qin Yi or Fu Liheng.

Inwardly mocking himself and seeking solace, Qin Yi thought that she still remembered him, that she wasn’t completely indifferent.

In reality, Qin Yi was too confident.

Ever since they broke up years ago, Tong Yuwu had gradually let go of her meager feelings for him. It had been several years, and she had become the envy of many as Mrs. Fu. Living a wealthy and lavish life, she had little time to reminisce about a past relationship that had become history.

Her surprise was due to the plot of the novel—this chance encounter in a shopping mall was just like the storyline!

What’s going on? She had agreed to go shopping with Fu Liheng and hadn’t even thought about this twist!

If she remembered correctly, Qin Yi’s next line would be, “What a coincidence, I’m here to fix my watch.”

When Qin Yi said this, he displayed the mechanical watch on his wrist.

Tong Yuwu’s expression turned even more unsightly.

It was almost exactly like the novel, even the dialogue was the same. Could it be true?

Fu Liheng noticed Qin Yi’s gaze fixed on his wife. His voice grew lower and deeper, “Yuwu, let’s go.”

He added to Qin Yi, “Mr. Qin, apologies, we have some matters to attend to. We’ll take our leave.”

Qin Yi finally shifted his gaze, offering a light smile, “Of course, take your time.”

Walking away hand in hand with Fu Liheng, Tong Yuwu couldn’t help but feel stunned by the encounter with Qin Yi.

Fu Liheng himself rarely spoke much, usually reserved in his words. But now, he was conversing a bit with Tong Yuwu in the car. As for Tong Yuwu, her thoughts were more complex than the tranquil appearance she presented.

What was it that the novel’s plot said?

Fu Liheng would divorce her a year later, leaving her with almost nothing except a few million yuan as consolation?

A few million?

Was this what people did, handing out alms to beggars?
