Yun Jiao opened the door and saw what Pei Xi had brought.
“Thank you!” Yun Jiao took the fruits and was very moved.
“Alright, Aunt Yun. I’ll be leaving now,” Pei Xi greeted her and left.
“Okay!”
–
A loud slap echoed in the quiet room.
A rough voice of a man rang.
“You stinking woman, hurry up and find something for me to eat. Do you want me to starve to death?” Bai Xiong cursed Bai Mu angrily.
It was as unpleasant as it could get.
Bai Mu, slapped to the ground, had a swollen right cheek.
Tears streamed down her face as she looked up at Bai Xiong in fear.
“T… There are… monsters outside. I… I can’t go,” Bai Mu replied tremblingly.
Upon hearing that there were monsters outside, Bai Xiong became furious.
Bai Xiong, who had been hoping for freedom, had finally been released from the prison.
Years ago, Bai Xiong accidentally killed a couple while drunk.
As for him?
He miraculously survived with only a head injury.
He was forced to compensate the couple’s daughter with ten million, depleting most of his remaining money.
After that, Bai Xiong spent over ten years in prison.
Originally plump and chubby, he now looked emaciated, losing his beer belly. With his small triangular eyes and flattened nose, he looked extremely ugly and even repulsive.
However, Bai Xiong’s luck took a turn for the worse. Shortly after his release, the apocalypse struck.
Bai Mu has a delicate appearance and big eyes. She looked very much like Bai Xiaolian when she was young.
Later, Bai Mu saw that Bai Xiong’s family had some money and schemed to become pregnant with Bai Xiaolian.
Now, Bai Xiaolian had turned out to be just like her mother when she was young, cunning and greedy.
“I told you to go, so you must go!” Bai Xiong turned furious and grabbed Bai Mu by her collar, frightening her into silence.
Ignoring Bai Mu’s cry, Bai Xiong lifted her by the collar and threw her outside. He showed no mercy.
“Bang…”
The door was slammed shut, leaving Bai Mu sitting on the ground outside.
Bai Mu, covered in injuries inflicted by Bai Xiong, revealed hatred and resentment in her eyes. She had numerous wounds, large and small, all from the heavy-handed beatings of Bai Xiong.
Since Bai Xiong’s return, Bai Mu hasn’t experienced a single good day. She faced his abuse every day.
The strong smell of blood on Bai Mu’s body attracted many zombies.
“Roar…!”
Hearing the growls of the zombies, Bai Mu was frightened and started banging on the door.
With a trembling voice, she said, “Bai… Bai Xiong, quickly open the door! I found something to eat.”
Sitting in the room while drinking a little wine, Bai Xiong believed Bai Mu’s words.
He didn’t think twice about how she managed to find food so quickly after he had just thrown her out.
As soon as Bai Mu entered the room, she was bitten by a zombie on the arm. Feeling the pain, she endured it silently.
Bai Xiong became scared when he saw the zombies outside and quickly closed the door tightly. However, Bai Mu’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
Bai Xiong felt that he had been deceived and cursed angrily, “You stinky bitch, come out right now.”
Locking herself in one of the rooms inside, Bai Mu was terrified as she looked at the zombie bite on her arm that was slowly turning black.
She rushed into the bathroom in fear and began to clean the wound, but she seemed to have forgotten that tap water could no longer be used.
Without caring, Bai Mu used tap water to clean the wound, not realizing that as soon as the tap water touched her arm, her injury turned even worse.
Bai Mu stared at her completely blackened arm and smelled the faint foul odor.
At last, she fainted.
And her body was undergoing a transformation.
Her fingernails gradually grew longer, slowly losing their original appearance and turning into sharp, black, and long claws.
Bai Mu had lost consciousness and fell into a deep coma.
Meanwhile, Bai Xiong continued cursing in the living room. When he got tired of scolding, he went to sut on the sofa. He was completely unaware that Bai Mu had been bitten by a zombie.
When he was young, Bai Xiong had a weak personality and low self-esteem. Later, after demolishing houses, he went from being poor to a nouveau riche.
His personal life also changed gradually. He pretended to be rich, despised others, and had an arrogant temperament.
While things were good for a while after marrying Bai Mu, his temper soon became bad again.
Bai Xiong sat on the sofa for a while and noticed that Bai Mu hadn’t come out. He started getting angry again.
His temper escalated, but he couldn’t curse any longer as his hungry stomach growled loudly, and he felt weak.
He felt extremely thirsty, but the tap water was contaminated, and he could not drink it.
Bai Xiong was on the brink of collapse. Dang it, there was no food, not even water. Even if he didn’t starve, he might die of thirst.
Thanks for the chapter
I thought this couple’s ending deserved, one more greedy than the other and blaming each other
Well, I can’t wait to see Bai Xiong be killed by his zombified wife, lol. He certainly deserves it, but I wonder if the wife will become a zombie with a human consciousness/intelligence or just a mindless zombie because so far I haven’t heard of humans changing into zombies after being attacked by them.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
