Portable Space: Little Miracle Doctor

Three New Big Brothers

Chapter 254 – Three New Big Brothers

In a place like a military camp, having four people in a tent was already special treatment.

Yan Xiaosi walked in, being quite satisfied, and tossed her bundle onto the empty bedding.

Because there were only four people in this tent, it was very spacious and the four beddings were not crammed right next to each other.

Seeing a new person moving in, the other three all looked over at the newcomer.

The three of them stared at Yan Xiaosi in astonishment.

With a slender build, a face the size of a palm, jet-black limpid eyes, crescent brows, lush lashes like fans, a pert nose, and pinkish lips – these features made for quite the pretty boy look.

How did someone like this pass the assessment to enter the military camp?

Unbeknownst to Yan Xiaosi, Long Yu had extremely strict, bordering on perverse, requirements for soldiers under his command. The weak, those under 1.7 meters tall, under age 18, or over age 35 were all rejected.

Under the gaze of three pairs of curious eyes, Yan Xiaosi felt extremely uncomfortable, as if she was some monster on display.

“Greetings to you three big brothers. I’m Yan Xiaosi, newly entered into the camp. I’ll be in your care from now on,” she took the initiative to introduce herself.

Only then did the three of them retract their blatant stares.

“Not a problem at all. I’m Wang Cheng,” said one.

“I’m Zhao Xi,” said another.

“I’m Wu Bin,” said the third.

Seeing that Yan Xiaosi was personally arranged into the tent by Long Yi, Wang Cheng, Zhao Xi and Wu Bin greeted her politely.

Long Yi said, “Young Master Yan, get settled in first. I’m going to report to the prince.”

Seeing Yan Xiaosi nod slightly, Long Yi turned his gaze to Wang Cheng and the other two. “Commander Wang, Commander Zhao, Commander Wu, Young Master Yan is new to the military camp and unfamiliar with everything. Please take good care of him.”

Wang Cheng and the other two were even more surprised as they watched Long Yi leave.

When had the Five Dragon Guards, the prince’s personal guards, ever been so polite to them, mere commanders? Today, for the sake of having them look after a new recruit, his tone was so amiable.

The three of them exchanged astonished looks.

Just who was this new kid?

After Long Yi left, Yan Xiaosi started organizing her space.

Wang Cheng and the other two watched for a bit before curiosity got the better of them and they gathered around Yan Xiaosi.

Wang Cheng asked first, “Little Brother Yan, what’s your relationship with Guard Long Yi? He seems to care a great deal about you.”

Zhao Xi followed, “Little Brother Yan, you look quite green. Not even fifteen yet, right? How did you get into the military camp?”

Long Yu had extremely harsh requirements for soldiers under his command.

Yan Xiaosi felt that these three commanders had pretty sharp eyes as she patted her smooth face.

“To be honest with you three big brothers, I just turned fifteen this year,” she admitted.

Wu Bin exclaimed in surprise, “I knew it…But based on the War King’s usual recruitment principles, those under eighteen are not accepted. How come he disregarded that rule this time? Besides, Little Brother Yan, you have such a weak and womanly physique.”

As he spoke, Wu Bin clapped a big hand on Yan Xiaosi’s shoulder.

With the strength of a soldier, Yan Xiaosi nearly crumpled under his heavy pat.

She shifted away from Wu Bin a bit and chuckled, “I’m different from you all. I’m a military doctor. Military doctors don’t need to go to the frontlines to fight.”

The three of them immediately understood. So that’s how it was!

Zhao Xi inspected Yan Xiaosi up and down. No matter how he looked, he couldn’t see how this green youth in front of them was a military doctor.

You have to know, becoming a military doctor under the War King’s command was even harder than becoming a soldier.

“Little Brother Yan, you really are a military doctor?” Zhao Xi asked doubtfully.

Yan Xiaosi sat in her space and glanced at Zhao Xi. “Why would I lie to you? The War King once had back pain and I was the one who massaged it better. From then on, the War King took notice of my medical skills and invited me to be a military doctor in the camp,” she stated.

So it was because she cured the War King’s back pain, no wonder she had Guard Long Yi’s attentive care.

The three men couldn’t help but look at Yan Xiaosi with a hint of admiration.

Zhao Xi glanced at Wu Bin beside him and prompted, “Commander Wu, didn’t you strain your back while horse riding drills two days ago? Since Little Brother Yan is a military doctor, why not have him take a look at it for you?”

Wu Bin had seen the military doctors but even after two days, his back pain had not improved. He didn’t dare go find Murong Qinjian, so he had just been enduring it.

He asked Yan Xiaosi hesitantly, “Is that alright?”

Yan Xiaosi readily agreed with a smile. “Of course.” If she wanted to get by smoothly in the camp, the first step was to get along well with her tentmates.

“Commander Wu, please lie face down on your bedding,” she instructed.

Wu Bin walked back to his space and with a twist of his back, lay down on the bedding in pain.

Yan Xiaosi knelt beside him and pressed on the areas near his lumbar vertebrae with a pair of deft hands, asking as she applied pressure, “Commander Wu, does it hurt here?”

“No.”

“How about here?”

“Yes, yes, yes. That’s exactly where it hurts.”

Yan Xiaosi breathed a sigh of relief and began alternating between heavier and lighter pressure on the spot he indicated was painful.

“Don’t worry, your lumbar vertebrae are not injured. You just strained the muscles and tendons, causing referred pain. I’ll massage it for you for a bit to dredge the meridians and you’ll start feeling better.”

Long Yi entered the commander’s tent and glanced at his master who was meticulously working on military affairs without lifting his head. He reported, “Master, this subordinate has settled Young Master Yan in. He’s staying with the three commanders Wu Bin, Zhao Xi, and Wang Cheng.”

Long Yu let out a grunt of acknowledgement without raising his head. Long Yi wasn’t sure if he had heard him.

Hearing his master grunt after a while without further instructions, Long Yi could only assume he was satisfied with this arrangement and quietly withdrew.

In the tent housing the three commanders, Yan Xiaosi massaged Wu Bin for nearly half an hour before stopping to ask, “Commander Wu, try getting up slowly.”

Wu Bin followed her directions to slowly sit up. Before, engaging the back muscles to sit up would cause him to wince in pain, but this time he was able to stand up easily with the pain noticeably reduced.

“Little Brother Yan, you’re amazing. I sought out other military doctors to needle and cup me but saw no improvement. You just pressed on it for a short while and I’m already hurting much less,” Wu Bin gushed, completely convinced of her skills.

Not only was Wu Bin convinced, Zhao Xi and Wang Cheng were as well.

The three of them clapped their chests and swore to Yan Xiaosi: “Little Brother Yan, in the future if anyone bullies you, just tell us. We guarantee we’ll beat them so badly even their parents won’t recognize them.”

It wasn’t a bad feeling, being accepted and protected.

Yan Xiaosi smiled with satisfaction and bowed with clasped hands to the three of them. “Many thanks to Commander Zhao, Commander Wu, Commander Wang.”

Wu Bin frowned in displeasure. “Hey, there’s no outsiders here. What’s with this ‘commander’ business? Just call us big brothers.”
