My Child Is A Villain

MCAV I Chapter 01

Chapter 001

Adele was afraid of her own son.

When she was pregnant, she thought of him as a blessing. But when he was born, he turned out to be strange.

From birth, his body was always burning with heat, and fires would frequently break out wherever he went. At first, she thought it was a coincidence, but it wasn’t. The fires followed him.

Though she had longed for a child, she grew terrified of him. She didn’t want to get close to him.

A few times, she was so scared that she even tried to abandon him. But no matter where she left him, he always came back. It was horrifying.

The villagers called him a cursed child and ostracized him. Slowly, they began to avoid Adele as well.

She had no choice but to move from village to village, but the same thing kept happening. Adele’s once strong resolve had long since crumbled.

“This can’t go on.”

She trembled as she made up her mind.

This time, she would abandon him for real. She’d leave him deep in the forest where he could never return. That would solve everything. If he disappeared, she wouldn’t have to keep running.

“Ronschka, let’s go on a little trip today, just you and me.”she said, suppressing her shaking as she grabbed his hand. She was afraid he might try to run away.

At first, the boy hesitated but then gripped her hand tightly. The sudden pressure startled her, but she forced herself to stay calm, just for today.

Just one more day, and I’ll be free.

Holding his hot little hand, Adele walked a long path. Her worn-out shoes hurt her feet, but she kept going. The boy quietly followed her.

‘Good.

When they reached a treacherous, overgrown path, the sound of an animal growling echoed in the distance.

“This is far enough,” she thought.

She loosened her grip on his hand to let go, but when she glanced down, she was startled to find his red eyes staring at her.

“It’s… okay,” the boy said, his voice low and trembling.

“You can leave me, Mom.”

Adele, shocked, yanked her hand away and stumbled backward.

“You held my hand, so it’s okay.” he said, his lips curling into a twisted smile. At his feet, the grass burst into flames.

“Monster,” Adele whispered, then she turned around and started running. She didn’t look back, too terrified to see what kind of expression her son might have.

She ran and ran until she tripped on a large rock.

“Ah!”

Falling to the ground, she hit her head hard. As pain consumed her, unfamiliar memories surfaced—memories of another life.

She remembered her past life as an ordinary modern woman and a novel she had loved before she died. It was her past-life memory.

“Ronschka!”

She suddenly realized.

Her son was Ronschka, the villain of that novel. The boy, abandoned by his abusive mother, was left to die in the forest. He narrowly survived but was later captured by a cruel magician who experimented on him.

Over time, Ronschka awakened his powers and became a powerful fire mage. Yet, despite his strength, his life was filled with suffering.

He tried so hard to hold onto something, anything, but in the end, he was left with nothing. Not even love.

His mother, his accidental father, the heroine he loved, even his one true friend, the male protagonist—none of them have stayed by his side.

Adele didn’t know why she was reborn in this world, but one thing was clear.

She didn’t hate Ronschka as much as she thought. She had loved him once.

No, even now, though she had denied it, the lingering ache in her heart was proof that she still cared about him.

She endured the pain and stood up, turning to look back.

The path she had run down seemed impossibly far. The dark forest loomed, like a terrifying monster with its mouth open.

But she had to go back.

Adele retraced her steps, running as fast as she could. She tripped and nearly fell several times, but she didn’t stop. She was too worried about the boy she had left in the forest.

Ronschka wasn’t a monster. He was just a child who had been loved too intensely by the fire spirits.

How could I have been so blind? He did nothing wrong. Adele ran, her breath ragged.

Please, please let him be safe.

When she finally arrived, she saw the boy standing with his back to her. In front of him was a large bear,

Knowledge of bears flashed through her mind. She had no weapon, no fighting skills—there was no way she could win against it.

Running away was the only way to survive.

But she couldn’t.

As the bear’s paw came down, she threw herself forward, shielding the boy.

A burning pain slashed across her back. She gritted her teeth, stifling a scream, and grabbed the child.

Holding him close, she grasped his small hand. It was so small and dry that it brought tears to her eyes, but now wasn’t the time to cry.

“Ronschka,” she said firmly, her voice steady.

“My child.”

“M-Mom?”

Ronschka looked up at her, startled.

“Run.”

The bear wouldn’t chase him as long as she was still alive. She could at least buy him some time to escape.

She squeezed his hand one last time and let go, putting all her heart into her final words.

“I love you, Ronschka.”

She pushed him away, feeling the bear’s menacing presence behind her. Without turning back, she forced a smile.

Smile.

She wanted him to see her smile one last time. She gave him the brightest smile she could muster, even as fear gripped her.

All she hoped was that this wouldn’t become a traumatic memory for him. She wished for him to forget the horror and live happily.

“M-Mommy…” Ronshka’s voice trembled behind her.

Adele stood firm, blocking his way. “Ronshka, run! Don’t look back—just keep going.”

The bear loomed in front of her, enormous and terrifying. But she stood firm, her legs shaking.

“Run, Ronschka,” she repeated under her breath.

Hearing small footsteps behind her, she felt a surge of relief. He was finally running.

But the bear didn’t chase him.

“It’s over now,” she murmured, her arms dropping weakly. Her vision blurred from the blood loss.

But then, something clung to her leg. Turning slowly, she saw a familiar head of red hair.

“Ronshka?”

Why are you still here? You need to run. I told you to run.

So many words filled her mind, but none came out.

“I-I won’t go!” Ronshka cried, holding her leg tightly. “I’ll stay with Mommy.”

Tears welled up in Adele’s eyes. Despite everything, he still considered her his mother.

He refused to run, desperate to stay by her side. Her heart ached, knowing what was coming, and tears fell uncontrollably.

“You have to survive.”

Adele tried to push him away, but her strength was gone. Her body had bled too much.

Her vision faded entirely, leaving only the warmth of the child in her arms and the endless flow of her tears.

“I’m sorry, my child.”

With a bittersweet smile, she pulled him into a hug, lying back on the ground.

If you refuse to leave, then I won’t force you anymore. Let’s stay together.

The boy, perhaps understanding her silent thoughts, stopped resisting and simply buried his face in her arms, smiling as though content.

“My mom said she loves me,” he murmured.

A mother who loved him.

No matter what pain awaited him, this moment of happiness could never be taken away.

Ignoring the faint sounds in the distance, Ronshka rested his head on Adele’s chest.
