I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

Special 22. This is not a common transmigration

“Ha…! As expected, Ryzen is good.”

They stayed in the capital for another month after Erdin’s christening and then returned to Ryzen. Breathing in the fresh air from Mount Piliac, she felt like she was back home. There were all kinds of conveniences in the capital and you could buy various things, but the place that Nshe and Killian felt truly attached to was Ryzen. But it wasn’t just the refreshing breeze of Mount Piliac that awaited them.

“I expected it, but… There’s a lot of work piled up.”

“Because I stayed in the capital longer than expected.”

Killian and she let out a small sigh, but they had no intention of procrastinating. Because they were in a hurry to go. They also worked hard to promote medical insurance and accelerated the Piliak Mountain Trail development project. To ensure security within the territory, a police station was set up in each village, and doctors and nurses were also recruited to create a treatment center that the territory residents could use. At first, people who were dissatisfied with the young lord and his wife’s useless activities began to have hope for the improving life of the manor. Although everything was still in its infancy, she was happier every day because she felt like she was getting closer to what she dreamed of. She would probably never forget what happened when she went to check on the ever-expanding treatment centers.

“Thank you, Madam.”

A skinny girl held out a freshly picked yellow flower to her from her path. It was a weed that looked like a rape flower, but it was as pretty as the girl’s smile.

“Oh my, it’s pretty. Are you giving it to me?”

The child nodded her head shyly. Anyone could see that she was a child with an obvious illness, but there was a sparkling light in her big girlish eyes. It occurred to her that she had seen such clear and pretty eyes somewhere before.

“Thank you. I’ll make sure to put it in a vase.”

At those words, the child twisted her body as if embarrassed, and then she ran to her mother behind her. As she was watching this with pleasure, her aide, Lord Altens, spoke quietly next to her.

“She is a child who was dying from Croso’s disease. Thanks to his parents’ active participation in the airspace for medical insurance, she was able to get treated as soon as the clinic was built.”

“Ah…!”

“It is still too early to say she has completely recovered, but it is true that she has improved significantly. And after seeing that child’s case, people around me are also reacting positively to medical insurance.”

The child’s mother seemed to have heard Sir Altens’ explanation at first glance, bowing her head and greeting her in a trembling voice.

“This child is the reason my husband and I live. But if it weren’t for her health insurance, she wouldn’t have been able to pay for the treatment. I will never forget the grace of my lord and his wife.”

Those words made her feel like she was about to cry. And then she remembered where she had seen those pretty eyes of a child. As the child poked her head out from behind her mother’s skirt and smiled, she was seeing the image of the child who died from envy of her receiving her brother’s bone marrow transplant.

“Edith? What’s wrong? Why are you crying…!”

Killian, who came next to her late, was surprised to see her and asked. It looked like she actually shed some tears. But she couldn’t be happier. She felt like she could finally relieve some of her long-standing guilt.

* * *

“Mom! Lilia keeps…!”

“Brother!”

With two children, there was never a quiet day at home. The same went for today, when they were busy preparing to leave for the capital. Erdin, who was gentle from the womb, grew up to be a gentle and affectionate son. However, her second child, a daughter called Lilia, had a strong tomboy vibe even before she was born, Edith kept wondering who she really resembled.

Look, didn’t Erdin come running today with a sad face after being tormented by his younger sister who had just started running?

“Why Lilia?”

“Lilia keeps jumping on my back and pulling my hair! Here, there’s even spit on it! It’s new clothes…”

Erdin furrowed his eyebrows as if he was about to cry and pointed to his damp shoulder. Erdin’s hair, which he had combed neatly in the morning, was as frizzy as a bird’s nest, and the shoulders of his light green jacket were a dark color in an area the size of the palm of his hand. There were also scratches on his cheeks from her fingernails. Even though he was beaten like that, Erdin’s kind and gentle side was that he ran slowly to match his younger sister’s running speed.

“Lilia seems to like her brother very much. So she just follows her brother around every day.”

“Yeah, that’s true, but…”

Erdin had no way to relieve his frustration, so he rolled over to his feet. Erdin was five years old, and Lilia was three years old. In a castle without peers, Erdin and Lilia had no choice but to use each other as playmates. Under normal circumstances, you would be worried that your daughter would get hurt due to the power difference, but in their family’s case, it was quite the opposite. Lilia, who was always full of energy, clung to Erdin all day, who loved to read and play quietly, and she was often annoying. To Erdin, who played with his younger sister and tolerated her as much as possible, Lilia’s mischief became more and more severe, and recently he often came running to her with a face like this, looking like he was about to cry.

Erdin’s crying face was so cute while thinking, “What if my mother doesn’t take my side?” But if she pretended not to notice, he might really cry. She didn’t want to teach him to unconditionally accept his younger sibling’s life. So she picked up Lilia with a stern look on her face.

“Lily. No matter how much you like your brother, you can’t do this! Your brother is having a hard time.”

Lilia, who sensed like a ghost that she was in the mood to scold her, shut her mouth, which had been babbling loudly just a moment ago, and began to distract her by fiddling with the buttons on her dress. Her expression, as if she knew nothing, was like a pure angel. But Edith is not fooled by that.

“Lilia Rysen! You didn’t suddenly forget what I said, did you?”

“Ugh… Mommy, I was bored…”

Killian, not her, responded to Lilia’s tongue-in-cheek sound.

“If you go to the capital, you will have many friends your own age, Lilia.”

“When did you come?”

Killian, who had gone to meet the knight commander, entered the room without any sign.

“Just now. It looks like Erdin lost to Lilia again today.”

“I didn’t lose! Lilia is the baby, and I am the older brother!”

“Yes, well done, Erdin. You have to be especially careful and be a gentleman when it comes to people who are weaker than you.”

Killian gently stroked the top of Erdin’s head as he angrily retorted and smoothed out his messy hair. Erdin must have immediately felt relieved again, and a smile leaked out from between his tightly closed lips. Of course, it wasn’t just Killian’s praise that made Erdin smile. They were leaving for the mansion in the capital today, and Erdin was excited about the fact that he would be able to meet many friends his age.

“For some reason, it feels a bit daunting to have to live in the capital and in Ryzen at the same time.”

“But most nobles live like that. It’s the same with children’s education, and we can’t ignore the social world altogether.”

In the capital, they planned to stay in the newly purchased mansion. A rather nice house had been left unclaimed for a long time, so they bought it and renovated it inside and out over the past year. It wasn’t far from Duke Ludwig’s residence, so it wouldn’t be difficult to take the children to see the Duke and his wife. And when they heard that preparations were complete, they headed to the capital, receiving farewell greetings from the people who used the castle and the people who came to see the territory. The 10-day trip to the capital seemed daunting, but the children were all excited. Killian and she were getting more and more exhausted from the endless barrage of questions like “What is this?” and “What is that?” But she was also a little excited. The weather was nice, and eating outside was always delicious.

“Has it been two years since Cliff’s wedding?”

“That’s right. We went there in conjunction with Lilia’s baptism.”

“I hope he is doing well, right?”

“Me too. It was the same when I saw him at the wedding, and I felt like he was at peace in the letters I received afterward.”

She nodded. Cliff married a completely different type of girl than Lise. She was a viscount daughter with dark chestnut hair, clear green eyes, and a round face with a gentle expression. She was not a great beauty, nor did she have any eye-catching charm, so at the time of their marriage, there seem to have been quite a few rumors wondering about their union. But after meeting her and chatting with her for a few words, she quickly realized why they were getting married. She had a personality that made people feel comfortable and was very wise. And she loved Cliff more than anything. Not as the heir to the Ludwig family, but as a man named Cliff himself. And Cliff was also deeply in love with her. It wasn’t a burning love like it was with Lise, but that made her think, ‘He’ll be happy for a long, long time.’

And for Lise…

“I heard there is no news from Rodante Monastery?”

“Yes. Lise seems to be feeling more comfortable now.”

Lise, who had been acting strangely for a while as if she had lost her mind, became quiet after hearing the news of Cliff’s marriage. According to a letter from her abbot, her face was one in which all worldly burdens had been laid aside. She prayed that her soul would be saved too. Even if it’s by a god they didn’t believe in…

“Mom, mom! I can see the village!”

She was lost in thought and came to her senses when Erdin shouted. Two children hanging from the window with sparkling eyes, Killian half-leaning towards them in case the children get hurt, a fresh spring breeze, and brilliant sunlight.

Suddenly, laughter came out.

“Killian. This… I thought it was a common transmigration.”

“What do you mean?”

Killian, who was examining the children, tilted his head and looked at her.

“…No, there is something like that.”

It’s a common story about overcoming the hardships of the original and eventually finding happiness with the male lead. It may be an obvious cliché to readers, but to her, it was a life that was neither obvious nor common. A life like gold, achieved by risking one’s life. She would continue to work hard here for the happiness of herself and her people.

Even beyond the word ‘Complete’, until the day they took their breath away, forever.

<Complete>

L’histoire me plaît beaucoup et plus que I thought it was a common transmigration.

Edith now become my most favorite character out of all the ‘posses a villainess’ characters<3 I love how she is being nice to others but also not letting herself being mistreated helplessly. I also like the characters' development of each characters. I begin to think that the author must be a really great person😭❤

Also, thank you so much RJR for translating and uploading this amazing novel!
