I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

Special 1. Territory life starting from zero

As punishment for downgrading Killian’s love to a physical affection, she had to suffer his demonstrations of affection for several days. During the day, whenever someone said something, he would make a somewhat lonely expression and say, ‘We live for our bodies.’ At night…

‘Why are you confirming with your body that Killian’s love is not a physical affection? It doesn’t make sense!’

She was pondering those thoughts even as she climaxed in Killian’s arms, who was pushing her.

“Because I can’t show it in any other way. Even when I tried to buy him gifts, you refused them all…”

Killian again responded dissatisfied with what she said as a joke. Killian kept getting anxious because he couldn’t get her anything, but she really didn’t need anything more. Choi Sona, who lived in an old studio apartment writing down household accounts in ten-won increments, has become the owner of a large castle. What was there to regret?

“You already bought me various things when we came down from the capital.”

The ruby necklace that she had given away to the mercenaries was still hanging around her neck thanks to Killian’s recovery, and her jewelry box was full of jewels of her taste. The dressing room was also filled with practical and pretty dresses, and there was no shortage of other accessories, cosmetics, shoes, etc.

“No, of course those were necessary. What… A music box, a glass doll, a high-quality scented candle… You don’t like that?”

“Do you get something like that and then use it?”

“Ha…”

Killian seemed to regret the ‘pretty trash’ that Lise coveted, but she wanted to save the money and fix the territory’s roads rather than spend it on such things.

‘But first, we have to take care of the castle’s household chores.’

She wasn’t talking about the furniture or fixtures provided in the castle. Those things were already in abundance. The problem she encountered was the hierarchy problem with the workers. The workers who had been without an owner for a long time were, to put it in a good way, strong personalities, and in a bad way, they were arrogant. Killian treated her with a respectful attitude while she treated him like an outsider. It seemed like there were probably bad rumors about her.

‘It takes a long time for rumors from the capital to spread in the countryside, so they probably still think I’m a villain.’

The rumors about her here were obvious even without hearing them. It was said that the innocent Killian had no choice but to marry a lustful evil woman due to the Rigelhoff family’s scheme, and the kind-hearted Killian killed all of the Rigelhoff family but was unable to kill his wife, so he brought her in. Maybe it’s because they didn’t know how invincible Killian was yet.

“Anyway, the attitude of the employees is a bit problematic. If Killian finds out, he’ll be in big trouble.”

“Maybe… I guess so.”

Anna answered with a sigh.

“The maids here are pure and diligent, but they also seem to be very proud and stubborn.”

“It seemed like that. He said hello to me, but his expression wasn’t very nice.”

As she was walking down the hallway thinking about what to do with this, two maids happened to pass by on the other side. They just passed by, avoiding eye contact and nodding their heads indifferently. Anna’s complexion looked worse than hers when she saw that.

“I will scold them harshly.”

“No. If that were to happen, Anna would become an outcast among the maids. Just leave it alone for now.”

“But, ma’am.”

“The human mind cannot be forced.”

Actually, she was at a loss as well, but she didn’t want to force a hierarchy by beating or punishing the servants. Fortunately, Killian gave them a clue to solving the problem.

“Something difficult has happened.”

“What is it?”

“The craftsman we commissioned the tapestry from… He died of old age.”

He was still a little anxious when he left it in. He was worried whether he would be able to make the tapestry of the size they requested before he died, and as expected…

“But don’t worry. I will soon find another place to request it.”

Killian seemed worried that she would be disappointed, but she actually didn’t think anything of it. Honestly, she didn’t even know why she had to pay that much money for a tapestry to hang on the castle wall…

‘Wait a moment. But why should I pay so much money to a craftsman in the capital? There are a lot of people in our territory who need money!’

It felt like a light bulb was going on in her head.

“It’s better.”

“You mean to cancel the work?”

“No! It’s a pity, but now that I think about it, I wonder if it’s really necessary to entrust the tapestry to a craftsman in the capital.”

Killian tilted his head.

“But local workshops are not very skilled. When I weave tapestries, I use local women as help.”

“That’s it, Killian!”

“…Are you saying you want to ask 20 questions with me?”

She said with a bright smile.

“The cost of producing one large tapestry was 5 million sena. If we leave it to the tapestry craftsmen in our territory, won’t they be able to make one large and one medium tapestry?”

“We could probably make more than that, but…”

“Good for you! Then, we will entrust the overall supervision of the tapestry weaving to a local craftsman, and we will also use the women of our territory to do the work!”

“But the quality won’t be as good.”

“It’s just a decoration hanging on the wall. Wouldn’t it be more meaningful if the people of the territory could earn an income during the farming season?”

Killian was silent for a moment. She thought it was because Killian, who was born and lived as a great nobleman in the capital, thought her attitude was too awkward, but Killian hesitated and opened his mouth.

“Thank you, Edith.”

“Yes? What is it?”

“For thinking of the residents of the territory even when purchasing luxury goods.”

Then Killian took her hand and kissed the back of it.

“I feel lucky to have a wife as kind and wise as you.”

Wow… She thought the modifier ‘virtuous and wise’ disappeared after Shin Saimdang.

“Killian. You often seem to forget, just as you are the lord of this land, I am the wife of the lord of this land. It’s natural that I think about the people here.”

Only then did Killian grin.

“Well, it seems like he has more ambitions for territory development than I do.”

“Sure! Someday, I will make it the best territory in the empire. I want everyone to want to come and live at Ryzen.”

After concluding that day’s conversation, she met with a tapestry craftsman in the estate, exchanged opinions on tapestry production, and signed a contract to proceed with production after the fall harvest. However, this work received an unexpectedly good response.

“The maids in the castle are asking about my wife more and more these days.”

“Uh? About me?”

“I guess it’s because of the tapestry work.”

“Why is that?”

According to Anna, people in Ryzen always thought there was a lack of work. Especially when the harvest was over and winter came, from then on you have to live off what you have accumulated, but since winter was cold and long, there was nothing left in hand when spring came.

“That’s why I’m grateful that the castle’s luxuries are provided as work to the women of the estate rather than being entrusted to craftsmen in the capital.”

“Then I’m really glad.”

Even though she didn’t do anything special, she felt proud that it was helping people’s lives. And at the same time, she began to think about the meaning of living while governing people.

‘If you had received news from the territory while living in the capital, you would not have known any of these detailed circumstances.’

She wanted to know everything about how people survive the winter, what they needed in the spring, what the evil practices of the estates were, and what kind of help people really needed. So from the next day, she started visiting places where people did odd jobs.

“Ma’am!”

“What’s going on here…”

When she appeared, the people covered in soot and working stood up in shock. They were the ones who chopped firewood and made a fire to heat the castle.

“It’s a lot of work. I came here to briefly check on the workplace.”

“Wow, to such a shabby place…”

“Are you lacking the equipment needed to cut wood and chop firewood?”

“Well, that’s it, I just use what I have.”

“How much is there?”

She went down just in case, and sure enough, the ax, the saw, the poker, and the ash container were all worn out.

“Tell me what you need.”

At her words, the workers first looked at the butler behind her.

“Tell me when I’m there so you can buy what you really need.”

Then they exchanged glances and then opened their mouths with difficulty.

“All the axes are old, but… … .”

“There are limits to how sharp the blade can be… … .”

As expected, they didn’t seem to be comfortable with the old axe either.

“Vincent. “Did you hear that?”

“Yes, ma’am. But what I’m using now is still usable.”

“It’s usable, but not at a comfortable level for working. Let’s increase our efficiency. “Please take good care of what you used and distribute it to people in the village who need it.”

“All right.”

“And we also add a first aid kit and leather work gloves. “It’s a place where there’s always a risk of getting hurt, so that’s absolutely necessary.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

She headed to the laundry room, greeted by the workers. It was as busy and poor as a firewood chopping place, and everyone was so surprised that their eyes popped out at her appearance.

“Ma’am!”

She looked down at them as they bowed their heads, as if they thought they had done something wrong, and then looked around the entire laundry room.

‘This… Where do I start to correct this?’

The dark interior, the damp air with the smell of mold, the hands suffering from eczema from always washing the laundry with wet hands… She thought she knew why laundry maids were the lowest rank among maids.

“Vincent.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Let’s change the laundry room.”

“Yes?”

“If you keep working here, it’s natural to get sick. We need to move the laundry room to a well-ventilated and sunny place.”

“There is no such place on the first floor of the castle.”

“If we don’t have it, let’s make it.”

Vincent unconsciously opened his eyes and opened his mouth.

“If I’m going to make it, I have to make it right, so come to my room tomorrow with the two best laundry maids and the designer.”

“Oh, I understand.”

Vincent’s voice was shaky, but the laundry maids’ expressions brightened. In that way, she looked around everywhere, including the kitchen, bedrooms, wine and food warehouses, and the servants’ quarters. Vincent was able to achieve maximum results with minimum investment, but she did not want the comfort of replacing others like that. She wanted to live happily with everyone here.

‘I never thought there would come a day when I would consider it fortunate that in my past life I was in the lower class of the labor market.’

Killian, a ruler to his core, would lead Ryzen well, but she, a petty citizen to her core, needed to pull her reins. Tomorrow’s Ryzen would definitely be different from today’s Ryzen.

She is a superstar! I hope she gets the recognition and happiness she deserves. I felt the ending of the main story to be a little anticlimactic. While I understand the point of view, I still think she should have received apologies from the Duke and Duchesses, and that Lise should get punished for what she did. I hope in the next extras we see some of that. And maybe a little bundle of joy for Edith and Killian
As always thank you RJR for your hard work!

Ah!

I am soooo glad she’s getting accepted because of her kindness and care for her people. She deserves that acknowledgement and proper (willing) loyalty from everyone, which wasn’t forced. Still hoping for some more Lize punishments….
