I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

CHAPTER 132

“You are being deceived by this child’s mask! Do you know what she said to me earlier?”

Then Cliff looked at Lise and asked softly.

“Lise, what did you say to this person?”

“He said that as long as he swings his lower body as he wants and gives birth, he is the father of the child. Even if I’m not from the Ludwig family, I can’t recognize this kind of person as my father.”

Despite the more intense expression, Cliff did not even lift an eyebrow.

“I think Lis said the most correct things. What’s the problem?”

Count Sinclair just snorted and then screamed.

“Then you shouldn’t even use the last name Sinclair!”

“Oh, I’m not going to do that anymore. The temple finally gave permission to abandon the family name.”

Lise answered as if she had been waiting. The reason she used the surname Sinclair until now was because the temple did not allow her to be separated from the family. There was a contract that said no connection could be claimed, but religion was a separate issue. However, religion couldn’t keep its feet from reality. It was difficult for the temple to withstand the pressure of the Ludwig family, which had become close to the highest power in the empire, and Lise was finally able to part ways with the surname Sinclair.

“Well then, good-bye, Count Sinclair.”

Lise flashed her angelic smile and headed to her room, crossing her arms around Cliff.

And at the same time, Layla ran into Edith, who was walking slowly, holding on to the railing. The Duke and Killian didn’t pay much attention to Count Sinclair, who ran towards Lise, and Cliff, who followed slowly behind him. Thanks to this, Layla also became a little bolder. In fact, there was nothing her eyes could see now because the plan she had dreamed of all this time had completely collapsed.

“Oh my, who is this? Isn’t it ‘the one who survived’?”

“Ah, it’s Lady Sinclair.”

Only then did Killian send a sharp look in this direction, but Edith waved her hand as if telling him not to worry.

“I thought about it before, but you have great mental strength. Even though all of your relatives died and you survived alone, there is no hint of guilt or fear at all. You were originally a bit shameless, but…”

Even though Edith was looking at Layla openly arguing with her, Edith was just snickering.

“I thought you were coming to take my place now that my expiration date has expired, but you didn’t say anything like that? You failed, right?”

Edith tilted her head and looked extremely happy and arrogant. As Layla was trembling with her teeth closed, Edith quickly wiped the smile from her face and said,

“I told you not to look down on my husband. He is not an easy person.”

Then Layla slowly walked in front of her and lifted her chin with the tip of her index finger.

“And my husband only likes the best. There is no way he will be temped with this much.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she flicked her finger to the side and Layla’s head turned helplessly to that side, but she quickly returned to her original position.

“Oh, this is so rude…!”

“The term ‘rude’ refers to a count’s daughter doing this to me, Countess Rysen.”

Even though Edith’s remarks were even more aggressive than before, Layla could only go away and couldn’t say anything in response. Edith, who had previously been just grumpy, now seemed to have a knife hidden behind her back. It felt like if she crossed the line just a little further, she would stab a knife right into her heart, so Layla eventually hesitated and stepped back behind her.

“I think it would be best to take your father back quickly. If you don’t do that, you will incur the Duke’s anger… There won’t be a return point then.”

Edith looked like an alluring witch as she smiled and pointed at Count Sinclair, who stood blankly on the first floor with the tip of her chin. And when Cliff, who was coming up to the second floor with Lise, saw Edith like that, he shook his head and said,

“I don’t think it will be long before the Ludwig family hears rumors that her daughters-in-law are evil women.”

“Not bad? It seems like we seemed too easy-going until now.”

Killian responded to Cliff’s words, and Edith smiled once again as she looked at Lise, who was looking away.

* * *

“I heard Cliff asked Lise to hold their wedding. I guess I’ll have to go see the wedding, is that okay?”

“They got engaged not too long ago, but they’re already getting married?”

“Cliff seems anxious.”

It was sudden news that came as Killian and she were getting ready to go down to the estate. It was surprising that the heir to the Duchy suddenly announced his engagement without a grand ceremony, but the fact that he was begging to get married less than two months later did not help but feel like he was in too much of a hurry.

“Well, that’s better. Going back and forth is too much work, so if I finish everything at once and go down, I will be able to concentrate on the estate work for a while.”

She said that because she really thought that way, but Killian must have been paying close attention to her when he suddenly came up behind her, hugged her, and pressed his lips to her neck.

“Thank you for understanding.”

Why was he even thankful for something like this? It’s truly overwhelming compared to before.

“But you’re so nice that I worry sometimes.”

And she felt like they were criticizing her very quickly…

“When did you say I would become known as the Ludwig family’s evil woman?”

“No, I’m just asking you to try something like that. You have such a soft heart.”

“Me?”

“If it were me, I would have slapped Layla Sinclair.”

Killian still seemed angry about the incident, which had been going on for almost two months.

“Did you spread such rumors in social circles because you were dissatisfied with my response? That’s what you did, right?”

After Count Sinclair and Layla returned, instead of spreading malicious rumors about Edith and Lise in the social circles of the capital, mocking rumors about Layla spread. Layla Sinclair tried to seduce a married man, and she failed miserably… A rumor that wasn’t really a lie.

“Well. I’m not really interested in social rumors, so I’m not sure.”

“You knew my rumors well…”

“I guess I’ve been somewhat interested in you since then.”

“You speak well.”

They kissed lightly, sat across from each other again, and checked the list of items to be provided in the castle. She was excited because it felt like she was getting married and moving into her newlywed home.

“I think the furniture for the bedroom and drawing room is almost done. I heard that some people started using Ryzen the other day.”

“What about silver cutlery and candlesticks?”

“That’s almost done. But will that amount be enough?”

“That’s more than enough! Honestly, if it wasn’t for entertaining guests, I wouldn’t have bought silverware that was difficult to maintain.”

She still remembered her hands shaking as she commissioned expensive silverware to be made.

“You don’t want expensive tapestries or carpets, you don’t buy decorations, and you only provide the bare minimum of furniture… Are you planning on not staying at Ryzen Castle for long?”

“I said that just that much is enough. If you’re missing something, we can order it then.”

“It makes me want to beg for luxury from you…”

Killian shook his head. He was arguing with her about all kinds of ‘wedding’ items, and even went so far as to ask her to call all the famous jewelers in the capital to see what he was so upset about, but the ruby necklace he gave her back was enough for her. Just the assurance that a piece of his heart was always with her was truly enough. What determines the happiness of Killian and she would not be the items that fill the castle or the number of jewels she had.

* * *

And half a year later, the wedding of Cliff and Lise was held in the hall of Duke Ludwig’s residence.

‘The main characters’ eyes are rolling as if it were their wedding.’

In fact, as grand as it seemed at the time, everything about Killian and her wedding was on a streamlined scale. The guests on both sides were in a bad mood, so the reception ended quickly. However, whether it was because Cliff was the heir to the dukedom, or because they were the main characters of the original work, this wedding felt like everything the dukedom could do was thrown out the window.

‘I’m so glad it wasn’t a wedding like this. The bride dies by evening.’

However, Lise, who liked to be the center of attention, might not like this type of wedding. Although the original author’s power has disappeared, the privilege still remains. Even though the full story of what Lise did to her in the past was revealed, she was still Cliff’s lover and bride and did not receive any ‘punishment’. It was a bit unfair to her as she almost got punished for no crime, but if Lise died or disappeared and Cliff turned black, it would be a bit of a pain for her and Killian, so she decided to think positively. However, contrary to what she thought, something in the relationship between Cliff and Lise had become a bit more delicate over the past six months. Lise, who lost her original power, somehow wanted to be in the spotlight as much as the original counterpart, and made all her demands on Cliff, and Cliff, who had initially complied with all of her demands, also became different. Around the time of their wedding, he looked quite tired.

‘I don’t know how on earth she took my advice, or if she even took it at all.’

It’s okay that she stopped acting like an angel, but for some reason, Lise’s eyes were becoming more poisonous by the day, which made Lise a little uneasy. She was not the only one who felt this, and even the Duchess, who used to like Lise, had not been looking for her much lately. The Duke even thought skeptically about Cliff and Lise’s marriage, but the past himself that gave Lise the ‘Light of Lorraine’ was holding him back. Perhaps Cliff was in a hurry to get married because of the Duke’s attitude.

‘Maybe this is Lise’s punishment. I guess she still doesn’t know how tragic it is to lose the people who loved her.’

If Lise didn’t change, from now on she would live watching the affection of others that she held in her hands, and the luck based on their affection, slip away like sand from her.

  1. Mimmo says:

I wanted a more “flashy” punishment for Loser, but having everything she held dear scaling from her hands by her own doing is quite satisfying as well 😁

      1. Belle-chan says:

Ao menos colocava um alerta de spoiler né, colega!!!

  2. Dollbaby says:

It feels like it’s ending soon 😭

    1. Сабира Усманова says:

      Да. Yes. Закончится изгнанием Лизе

  3. Astarria says:

Yeah I don’t like how she did all those horrible things and yet isn’t punished. Still didn’t see anyone apologizing to Edith for anything either (ie. Duke/duchess) wonder if Cliff eventually will kill Lize. Or if he will just be miserable for life. Although, in all honesty, that should be his punishment, to be forever tied to the other crazy

  4. Zeel says:

I’m a little confused with today’s translations but thank you so much as always. When Edith says that.all.of Lizard’s action came into light, that surely doesn’t mean everyone knows all the manipulation and treason she committed? Edith means that only SHE knows, right? Because no way would the Duke allow this marriage if he knew.

    1. Amr says:

Yeah, I also wants to know how they will react if they found out.
Thanks for the translation RJR 😊

    2. Astarria says:

Pretty sure they (the family) knows cuz girl couldn’t keep her state, ents consistent to save herself. Plus Killian told the truth of Edith and her abuse etc. they just didn’t do anything cuz 1) they’ve raised her for so long and am in denial 2) I’m sure they are going through with the wedding cuz Cliff insists.

  5. Kari says:

Deux tarés qui se marient… le duché Ludwig s’est écroulé. Cela me ferai bien rire de lire que le Duke et la duchesse sont devenu des invités permanant à Ryzen chez Edith et Killian.

  6. isekai-ed when says:

and that kind of person will be the duchess??? ha!!! who y’all kidding fr

  7. Quaade says:

“Losing the people who loved her.”

The parallels between K and J. K. Rowling are so staggering that the translation even has “the one who lived in it.”
