I Thought It Was a Common Transmigration

CHAPTER 128

“As soon as you feel better, let’s go straight to Ryzen. A land where you will no longer be hurt, and where we can grow old together.”

“Are you sure you’re okay with me?”

“I don’t know what you’re asking. A lord takes his wife to his manor, what other criteria must she meet?”

“No, well, that’s okay.”

As for her, she gave Killian plenty of chances. Even if he regrets it later, it was Killian’s fault.

* * *

A long sigh sounded from one side of the dark room. The reason the room was dark wasn’t because the sun had set. This was because Lise, who looked like she was having a nervous breakdown, told him to close all the curtains.

“Maybe I should have asked you earlier, Lise. Why are you… Are you trying to get rid of Edith?”

Cliff, the author of the sigh, asked Lise lowly, who was cocooning herself with a blanket.

“…You don’t understand.”

Lise barely answered, but the end of her words were watery again. Cliff sighed deeply again. It’s already been a week since Lise has been confined to her room. She complained about why they didn’t believe her about what happened in the dungeon, but later trembled and said she didn’t know why she did that. Then, when the Duke came and asked her, she changed the story and said she didn’t remember.

Her actions were suspicious to anyone, and Ludwig and their people, who were no longer subject to the flow of the original work, did not unconditionally protect her as before. The suspicions that had been directed at Edith were poured out on Lise, and Lise was unable to properly answer the detailed questioning. The betrayal and shock of Duke Ludwig, who had cared for Lize like his own daughter and unconditionally believed in her words, was nothing short of shocking. He couldn’t even tell the Duchess because he was afraid she might faint from shock. However, Cliff was an ardent believer in Lise no matter how the world order was reorganized.

“I don’t need to understand it. If I had known you wanted it, I would have been happy to help. Why didn’t you tell me?”

The whimpering noise subsided.

“Would you have loved me and cared for me even if you knew what I wanted?”

“Of course. Do you really think I went there the night before Edith fell into the lake without knowing anything?”

At that sound, Lise’s head finally came out of the blanket.

“You knew… it was a lie?”

She believed that it was entirely on her own initiative that she had sent Cliff there to keep her manager’s attention while sending someone to break the controls of Killian’s yacht.

“It seems like you suddenly spilled an earring on my yacht the night before Killian and Edith went sailing, so no matter how stupid I am, I guess you were up to something.”

Lise was shocked. But Cliff’s confession did not end there.

“Actually, I suggested going boating to Edith and I told you about it… I wanted to find out what you think.”

“I beg your pardon?”

“Of course, I didn’t know you wanted to kill Edith, but I expected something to happen.”

No one would be surprised to learn that the person they thought they were playing with was not only aware of their intentions, but was willing to go along with them.

“Then why didn’t you say anything to me?”

“If I did that, I was afraid you’d completely hide yourself, even from in front of me.”

Cliff saw that Lise did not show him the truth, even though he made everything she wanted come true, and he thought that she was like a bird that was always ready to run away. When she felt like it, she pretended to be vulnerable and innocent and sang brightly on his shoulder, but she was a clever and beautiful bird who flew away at the slightest sense of danger.

“I knew from the moment I met you that you were different from others. It seemed like you were anticipating everything and acting accordingly. It occurred to me that even your misfortune was of your own making.”

Whenever she was framed or faced an unknown threat, Lise always turned the crisis to her advantage. Even if Lise didn’t do it herself, someone around her would help her, or it would be a lucky coincidence.

“At first I thought you were just lucky. After that, I thought I had made a good relationship with a good person. But because that coincidence and destiny repeats itself without a single exception, and you took the result for granted… From then on, I thought you were special.”

Lise was surprised that Cliff had been seeing through her for a long time. Until now, she thought that she was similar to God and that everyone, including Cliff, was just a creature that she created and could not surpass her…

‘That means I didn’t know all the characters I created, nor did I have complete control over them! I am… Then what was I?’

As Lise clamped her hand over her mouth and left her flailing from the shock of her slow thrusts, Cliff cautiously approached and took her into his arms.

“I don’t care who you are or what you’re up to. I just want you, Lise. Can’t you just rely on me from now on?”

“I am… I will grow older and older. I will become ugly and fall apart.”

“Isn’t it natural for people to grow older? I want to grow old with you.”

“I can’t even guess what will happen to me in the future. The luck that you once thought was strange will not happen again. I’m not special anymore.”

“I will be with you. I will be your sword and shield. If there is anything you want, I will gladly place it at your feet.”

Lise shook her head despite Cliff’s oath. She couldn’t believe that it was okay to look old and ugly, or to fall after failure. Who could love someone who was neither beautiful nor successful? Lise dismissed his vow as just a way to get through this moment.

“Don’t say it easily. If I believe what you say and rely on you, but then you abandon me, who will take responsibility for me?”

Lise, who only saw her own wounds, did not know that she was hurting Cliff even when she hurt him. However, Cliff, who was so in love with Lise that he was even called half crazy, loved even this selfish side of Lise.

“If you want, I can at least write you a contract. I’ll give you my leash. You will become a special person who can control Cliff Ludwig as you please.”

Lise, the embodiment of extreme narcissism, felt the limits placed on her by Cliff’s confession and pledge that he loved her. That she could no longer be special on her own.

‘Cliff doesn’t want me to stand out as Lise Sinclair. He only wants to be special as his lover and his wife. Cliff is selfish!’

But Lise had no desire to work hard like Edith to become special with her whole self. She just wanted to shine without a single wrinkle, as if she were a genius or chosen by heaven.

‘My golden days are no longer coming back. If I die after living this life, will I be able to wake up at the beginning of the story again?’

Lise, who only wanted glory without work, felt like she was incurring a great loss and ultimately decided to accept Cliff’s offer. She didn’t even realize that this was a limit that Lise herself had set for herself.

* * *

[The story of Edith Ludwig begins, separate from the story of Lise Sinclair. The ending of this story is not determined.]

A few days after being informed that she had met the level 3 exception conditions, the announcer’s voice was heard. As always, she was having a lucid dream and at that moment, she felt completely confirmed that she had won the battle against the ‘original author’.

‘My life is no longer a side story for Lise Sinclair. It became my own story!’

When she opened her eyes with such a pleasant sense of victory, she smiled proudly again as she felt the body heat of Killian, who was sleeping while hugging her tightly from behind.

‘The most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my life is actually my husband. It’s something I’ll have to live a long time to see.’

If she considered it as the price for dying miserably and for going through all the hardships of possessing a villain, she felt like she was losing a little, but if you factor in the territory she would soon gain, well, she thought it’s okay to say she won. As she was grinning to herself, the hand that was holding her stomach slowly moved and began to rub her skin.

“Are you awake?”

“Yes…”

His voice was subdued, as if he hadn’t completely broken down yet.

“Today… How are you feeling?”

The question he asked every morning as soon as she opened her eyes was the same. How was her body?

“Just as your question is the same every day, my answer seems to be the same every day… It’s better than yesterday.”

It wasn’t just an answer to reassure him, she was quickly regaining her stability and health. Originally, Edith’s body was much healthier than Choi Suna’s, but she felt like she was healing faster than when she was hit by Sophia before.

‘Is this also because I have become the protagonist of my life?’

It was okay to say it was an illusion. She decided to live her life believing that she was the main character of this story. She felt like it was atonement and consolation for her past life of always worrying about what other people thought and not living her life properly.

“You need to get better soon so we can start with Ryzen…”

“This is also getting better quickly. I’m eating everything that’s good for my body. I’m going to gain weight.”

“The journey will be arduous. So, gain some more weight.”

Killian lightly kissed her neck, shoulder, and cheek before getting up from the bed. After doing light gymnastics with his bare hands, Killian put on his clothes and called Anna. Anna then immediately appeared with warm washcloth and a towel, and she and Killian wiped her face and body together. Now even though she could do it, they never backed down.

Damn Lice and Clit. I was hoping for a more dramatic punishment. I mean, I knew he was crazy and was gonna follow along with Lice but still, but to not be punished at all?? Wild. Lame lol. At least she put a system limit on herself without even realizing it! Lol Thank you for translating, you are so appreciated!!

    1. Bubbly_BingeReaderRN says:

Lice is good. But if you jumble two letters from her name, Lise becomes Lies…

    2. Liz says:

ikr I thought he just did it because of the plot. But dam he’s a fcker just like the btch lise

  2. Confused Gator says:

HUH so now Clishit and Lizard are proper villains now, also what was that about Lizard limiting herself does that mean if she wanted she could become a bigger threat? if she actually put in the work, man I feel a little bad for her tool, the man is happy being used she doesn’t even love him

    1. Bubbly_BingeReaderRN says:

I think by choosing to be with Cliff like in the original, she eliminated any other route for her story

  3. Confident Gator says:

I am glad Edith now has a chance to make her own life and with Kilian by her side nothing will stop her, she is hardworking, smart, levelheaded and crafty whatever the main characters plan against them Edith and Killian will be okay, they are a power couple

  4. Sophtt says:

Can’t cliff and lize just die? I’m still scared for Edith if that crazy b*tch becomes duchess. I tbh I expected cliff to don’t give a f*ck if lize was a killer. He gave me serious psycho vibes too

  5. Kari says:

  6. Lii says:

Lizard deserves nothing. Even if Cliff sucks, she doesn’t deserve him, this chapter was annoying, the only part that I liked was my dear Edith and Killian, but Lise should’ve been dropped

  7. Solan says:

He knew !!!!! This stupid male lead …ah

  8. strawrabbi says:

Cliff is at the very least delusional. He thinks he’s figured everything out. Lise hasn’t even told him she barely regards him being more than 2 dimensional, tried to kiss Killian or that his attraction/ love is built on a sand castle that he had no choice in. Dude doesn’t realize how she abused everyone by forcing them in an endless time loop because of her obsessive need to be the center of attention.

I hope the Duke rethinks giving Cliff the Dukedom and the duchess figures out.

    1. Bubbly_BingeReaderRN says:

Yep…. i do hope Killian gets the title of the Duke instead. In webtoon, Killian’s face looks a lot like the Duke too.

  9. Astarria says:

Wow Cliff really is… I don’t even have a word for him. Killian is so sweet, and I don’t see the Duke/duchess or Cliff apologizing to Edith. But you know what? I don’t even care cuz in all honesty I would not forgive them. I’m also convinced that Cliff would still kill Edith if Lize asks. Even if it means fighting with Killian, being disqualified to be heir to the dukedom, etc, he would do it if Lize actually requested it.

  10. Zeel says:

So Clit’s been a volunteer accomplice this whole time…

  11. kirakira01 says:

    /cacklesssss

is that contract with cliff what triggers edith’s own story?? ’cause yessssss

suffer from those unfair unknown conditions!!!
