Hi Elauane, I would encourage you to drop the novel because you might only end up being more disappointed. The Main characters are Killian and Edith and I doubt that’s going to change anytime soon or at all. Save yourself the trouble and read a book that abides by your own principles.
And I’d like to add that the Killina you so avidly hate is a puppet attached to the author’s string and the Renan you love is not influenced at by the story flow.

That was a really Dumb move of the author… I mean, she could put the 2 condition as it is, but why provoke Killian to deliberaly invite Edith? If she didn’t talk to him, He likely rarely invite Ed to do something… I feel like the rule was bad writen. It would make sense if it was something like: ten refusals in a row or Edith will lose dominance. But this way, Ed could go years of refusals and acceptence

Don’t hate Killian yet. He was literally being controlled by K. He had very little free will and even when K lost most of their control over him they were still able to manipulate him into acting how they wanted through Lise since he lived his whole life believing Edith is evil and a temptress from the og Edith’s actions and being blinded by his feelings for Lise. If he is still trash after breaking completely free from K then you can hate but, right now give him the chance to change. Rn I just feel bad for Killian having someone pull his strings like a puppet and getting a migraine anytime he tried to break free, that only faded when he was with Lise or following his original roles path. Of course everything that has been happening to Edith and the misunderstandings are awful and my heart breaks for her but, I want to give Killian the chance to change now that he is completely in control of himself.
Yeah, i hate-love Killian (currently going more to the hate extreme of the balance, i like him when I read his POV but i want to punish him so badly), but i still i open and hoping for a really good redemption arc (better from his POV) that can make me understand why even now after being released from the control he still didn’t felt… awakened? I understand that if i where on his place i would need a lot of time to process it, then build courage to apologize and make up for my faults i unwillingly did under mental crontol, but…I don’t think being lovey-dovey just because of the mood is the way to progress to it…Man I think he could have done better on this chapter.

I’m not seeing a shred of concern for her safety, comfort, consent or pleasure in Killian in chapter 54 (or 20, for that matter).
You can compare it (roughly and inaccurately) to being held up by thieves and having your car stolen. Maybe it was an old rust bucket and you’re relieved to be rid of it, but the thieves couldn’t have known that. More importantly, they didn’t care, they weren’t out to do you a favor, and they wouldn’t have stopped no matter how much you hated it. Their crime is still a crime, and they don’t get off the hook because you “liked” it later.
In other words, there is no such thing as Schrodinger’s Sexual Assault where you can do whatever you like and decide whether it was bad or not based on the other person’s reaction. I’ll stop here, but please take care of yourselves.
