I Don’t Trust My Twin Sister

CHAPTER 121

No matter how hard I tried, in the end, I was not a gifted child or a genius. I’m just a person who struggles within the framework that was set for him. I couldn’t save my family, and I couldn’t save my sister. Even smart talk was of no use here. I, who couldn’t even remember the past, couldn’t stop Elsia. Elsia just looked at me with a faint smile. Is it simply an illusion that that smile feels familiar? What have I forgotten about my childhood? What did I miss? She closed her eyes, then calmly opened them, looking at her hands.

“You can go back.”

Her moving hand stopped. Her eyes turned to me again. Her eyes filled with doubt waver again.

“You can go back, Ercia.”

“Sounds like an excuse to avoid the situation. Don’t you think she’s trying to avoid me ruining the peace her sister hopes for?”

“No. When I asked you if we were family that day, I was asking if we could be a family again. It was because I didn’t think we had gone far enough for us to go back yet.”

“You have to answer that.”

“I can’t do it!”

After biting her lip tightly, she struggled to speak. Shaking off the anxiety that had been holding her up all day, I walked over to her. She did not back down and looked straight at me without avoiding her eyes.

“I don’t know anything, Ercia. I don’t know if what you said is true or false. I can’t believe I did something like that, so I can’t answer.”

“Then you can’t go back. It’s late, sister.”

“Let me know.”

“I told you everything.”

“Tell me everything. Let me recall. The memories of that day once again…

“That’s not my job. It’s yours. So don’t push me any further. We’re done.”

“Not yet.”

“It’s an illusion.”

“Not yet, Ercia!”

He rushed towards me, calling my brother’s name. I don’t know why she did that, but she just had a feeling that Ercia wouldn’t press the bomb. All her life she made decisions based on reason. However, the decision I made with the lives of not only me, but also my lover, my family, and the innocent people in my territory, was ultimately driven by emotion. It must be a gamble. This time too, it was a ridiculous gamble to believe that the younger brother I once hated would not press the bomb. select. But I believed it. At least there is still a way back. And she believed that Ercia would not set off the bomb. Since they were twins, I believed it. When she opened her eyes again, I had knocked Ercia down and was on top of her, holding her by the collar. Ercia, who was breathing coldly and harshly, and I met our gazes in the air.

Ercia’s eyes rolled and looked at my hand.

“Is that the answer?”

“Answer…?”

In her hand was a dagger that had not been removed from her sheath. A dagger that Deacon Fievel gave you to take. The one I took out from her arms earlier out of fear that an enemy might appear in the dark. I was looking down at her, holding her dagger in her hand.

“It’s a coincidence. In her old days, her older sister slit her own wrist with that sword, and this time she’s trying to slit her title. How did we get so far apart? .”

Ercia, who felt me flinch, raised her hand with a faint smile. Then she grabbed my hand holding her dagger and lowered it.

“Remove the sword from its sheath.”

My breathing became rough.

“And stab me.”

“Then everything will end and this stage will have a happy ending. I can become the villain and disappear, and my sister can become the main character and be loved. The protagonist of a play called the Ajstain family is always my older sister, and I am either the villain who harasses her older sister, or the unlucky younger sister who has to give up everything to her older sister. So stab me.”

Her hand moved and pulled out the sword. The blade of the sword received a cool glow from the moonlight. Ercia looked at me blankly.

“…This is the last time.”

Ercia pulled the sword down with strength in her hand. The tip of her blade touched her neck as she was dragged without resistance. Eventually her eyes closed.

“The villainess is leaving.”

Ercia… I closed my eyes helplessly.

* * *

When I was young, children of noble families who were born as twins were treated very uniquely. It was amazing that they were twins, but they were also very smart, which caught my eye.

Twin sisters of the Ajstain family with excellent abilities. The sisters grew up with many expectations. And, as if trying to live up to those expectations, one child spoke his language fluently and could write to some extent before he was three years old. Around the age of five, the child began reading economics books and was sent to the care of his grandfather, a talented professor and politician, to educate him, showing off his talents. At the age of seven, she demonstrated her genius by proposing an innovative solution to a contract dispute that had been troubling his family. In this way, the future of the Ajstain family became brighter. People had no doubt that a family that had been around for hundreds of years would continue to grow further. However, another child born on the same day and at the same time was ordinary. Like any child, she began babbling at the age of two, and it was not until she was five that she became fully capable of speaking on her own. It was also much faster than other children. However, compared to her twin sisters, who were praised as geniuses, the child was inferior. She was excellent, but she was overshadowed by genius. At an age when she should have received his attention and her love, all of that had been taken away from her by her sister. Even if she studied the same thing because she wanted to be loved, the results were always the difference between heaven and earth.

One twin was told every day that the future of the family depended on this child, but the other twin was told that they should help their genius sister. On the outside, it was a peaceful and harmonious family. However, the dissatisfaction and deficiency that sprouted within him were enough for that happiness to become a bondage. Then one day, the child who fell behind fell and got a deep wound on her knee, so she had to stay in bed for several days. Then the child could feel it. She didn’t have to be a genius to get attention and love. She felt there was no need to compare her values with that of her younger sister. If she lay still, her family would come visit her every day, take care of her wounds, lay her head on their laps, read her a story, or sleep with her. Because she was sick, she was able to do things she had never experienced before. At that moment, the child, unlike her sister, believed that she had to be sick to receive attention and love. So she had an extreme idea. She wondered if she could receive more love if she hurt more, but the results were disastrous.

A child lying bleeding and another child crying after discovering the child. The parents who heard the crying and came running found the child who had harmed himself. At that moment, the family realized that this was not a simple accident. The situation soon presented a choice. Coincidentally, the choice did not go to her parents or the child who harmed herself, but to the innocent and innocent genius girl. Her own alter ego, who was born into the world with her, but who hurts her because of her own existence. Seeing her hurt and seeing her cry, her genius made a decision that he couldn’t take care of himself. The person who should be hurting is not her twin sister. The child went into the darkness herself for the sake of her family and her beloved sister. At some point, she made mistakes in things she was usually good at, and her eyes, which used to shine with intelligence, began to turn gray. As she began to feel anxious and lay down on the hospital bed, from that moment on, all her worries turned to the genius girl. However, her future, interest, and expectations for that child were transferred entirely to her other sister. But she didn’t know that child. She was intoxicated by the attention coming to her and the fact that her brother had made a sacrifice. She was eight years old, a very young girl, but the genius girl who loved her family and her twins ended up alone in the dark. But what she returned was the cold bodies of her parents and her own closed heart. One day, the girl, being the genius she was, asked her own sister if any of her past hurts had come out much. Then the answer she came back was strange. She asks what’s going on and replies that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. At that moment, everything fell apart. She pretended to be sick, pretended to be in pain, pretended to be tired, carrying everything on her back and entering the darkness directly to make you shine, but even though she gave up her place as the main character, all she got back was sympathy. She smiled at the twins who came to her every time and complained about how difficult the family’s work was, but she was angry inside.

“I could have done better, it was a position I gave up, it was a position I sacrificed for you, and I, a position I sacrificed for you! I got that position through someone else’s sacrifice and I didn’t even know it!”

She was still young. Although he was intelligent, it was difficult for him to control his emotional ups and downs. As time passed, the emotions rotted away inside. One by one. At some point, she started to think about her and waited for her twin to be destroyed. But she knew. That she could no longer go out on her own in the dark. That they have already gone too far. The ending of this skit will be tragic, and the villain who will suffer that tragedy is herself.

Ercia opened her eyes. Green eyes reflected the moonlight. Her older sister, who had been there just a moment ago, was nowhere to be seen. All that was clear was her cloud-cleared sky and the full moon sparkling in the middle of it.

Ercia closed her eyes again and opened her mouth quietly.

“…Why are you doing that, sister?”

The sword that had been aimed at her neck was frozen and hardening on the ground. Lawrence, who was holding the sword, grabbed Ercia’s collar with difficulty and leaned her face on it, holding her breath. In the silence, with no sound or response from her, Ercia opened her mouth again with difficulty.

“You have to kill me to end this play. So stab me.”

“That can’t be possible.”

“You have to do that. I am the villain, you are the protagonist, and we are enemies. So stab me.”

“Ercia… I can’t do that.”

“Sister.”

“I… I barely remember anything. Memories of that day are as if they were covered in black paint. Nothing comes to mind. So… I don’t completely believe what you say.”

Turn and go back to the starting point.

“I didn’t expect it. So kill me.”

“No, but I can’t kill you.”

“You said you don’t remember anything. You always said the right things. Then again, what I said was just a lie. It was just a whisper from an evil witch trying to deceive you, so you don’t have to believe it.”

Lawrence caught her breath. Raising her head, Ercia was able to face her older sister’s face, distorted by her tears.

“I lived a life based solely on the choices my sister gave me.”

“No, that’s not true. So… So let’s go back. We can go back.”

“It’s late.”

“You can go back, Ercia!”

The thought of being able to go back crossed her mind. Hearing that voice, Ersia put her head back on the ground and let out a sigh as if letting out her harsh breath. Then she violently pushed Lawrence away and took her sword in her own hand.

“In the past, I sacrificed myself to seek love, but now I know how to shed fake tears. I have changed a lot. I have become treacherous.”

“Er…”

“Don’t call me by my name! It’s my name…! It’s my name! Even if you can call other people, you can’t call me that! You took everything from me and now you’re coming back again. Are you saying that the person who was robbed of everything has to accept the choice of the person who took it? I don’t believe that, you think I’ll be happy to hear something you just said to avoid the current situation? Don’t force that choice, even if you think it’s right!”

Therefore! Ercia briefly shouted out her last words and then pointed her sword at Lawrence. Lawrence froze in surprise at the atmosphere that suddenly became dangerous. From a little distance, she could see Benson grabbing his sword and Ian looking directly in this direction. Ercia looked at the two people blankly and then fixed her gaze on Lawrence. The eyes of the two people who resembled each other wavered.

“This time I will choose.”

The sword aimed at Lawrence changed direction. The sword she held in her right hand was moved to her left, and the tip of her sword was pointed at herself rather than Lawrence. Her fragile neck was exposed beneath the raised sword.

“This is my choice.”

The sword drew a sharp arc. There was a scream and blood splattered. It was Ercia’s second choice.
