Actually, she didn’t pay attention to what he did in his past. She was a very happy child who just obeyed her father’s orders and got his gentle praise.
But she won’t be able to guess his plans easily, even if she were to suddenly show interest in his plans in this life. Considering that she was just her hunting dog, there was no way Byron would directly inform her of his goals.
Byron would have to use the skills he taught her to find out for himself, and then use her for his revenge.
Ayla found herself in a situation where she needed to put the skills Byron had given her to use. Her goal was clear: to discover the truth behind his actions and how he had used her as a tool for his own revenge.
Even Byron couldn’t have predicted that Roderick would wind up dying by the technique he taught to use as a blade that would take his life.
He ought to thank her for doing this.
Thinking that, she let out a bitter smile.
“Let’s relax lightly first.”
Cloud gestured with his chin. It meant running around the training ground. There was no need to say anything since it was a training process that was repeated every day.
Even though she hadn’t trained with him for quite some time, She was able to immediately understand what he was saying.
Ayla closed her mouth tightly and started running through the dusty yard of the fortress. After she pretended to run dutifully, maybe a few laps, Cloud would leave her behind and go off to do his own business.
The trust was built through years of sincere training. The belief that Ayla would train her body without stopping, even without him watching, just to get her father’s approval.
She felt somewhat uncomfortable as she thought back to her childhood when she used to sprint through the training ground while clenching her teeth and longing for her father’s love.
But that’s all in the past. There was no need for that anymore.
There was nothing wrong with building up stamina, but now there was something more important than that.
‘ Now that I’m back to when I was young, I’ll have to check how strong I am now.’
She had already surpassed her tutor Cloud’s skills by the time she entered the Dukedom. She would follow someone’s footsteps, hide her body and eavesdrop, and kill the person without even realising why she was dying. There would probably be no one who could follow her.
She couldn’t help but laugh.
That was such a silly thing that the techniques were embarrassing to show off.
Even so, Ayla really needed those embarrassing skills. Because she had to use those skills to find out what Byron was planning.
But that can also be done with the strength of the body.
So, It was necessary to check what her physical strength was.
Ayla looked around first before checking her own condition as She shouldn’t have been caught looking at her suspicious behaviour.
The fortress was quiet as the day was only getting started and the sun had just risen. Of course, there were those guarding her entrance, but it seems like there was no one watching what she did in her walled training grounds.
When she was a little older, the guards always followed her. But now, she was still young and it seemed like she had been negligent in monitoring.
‘Good.’
She confirmed that no one was nearby and then climbed a tree next to the training ground. Making as little noise as possible, Ayla gently climbed the tree and seemed satisfied.
It seemed that as her body got smaller, she became more agile. Although she had not yet held a dagger in her hand, it seemed like there would be no problem using it.
Ayla tried to keep her balance while standing on a sturdy branch of a tree and frequently attempted to swing a dagger with her free hand. She not only moved her arms, but her balance was perfect.
Meanwhile, the dark sky suddenly became completely bright. She saw Laura open the door and come out. It seemed like it was time to end morning training.
Ayla hurriedly jumped from the tree because she couldn’t be seen like this. Despite the fact that she leaped from a great height, she landed quietly.
After straightening her clothes, she pretended to run on the playground again.
“My Lady, That’s enough training for now. You have to take a bath before eating with your master.”
She always took a bath after training with Laura monitoring over her. She wanted to dress up before meeting Byron. She had previously consented happily because she wanted to seem nice for her father, but now she felt disgusted when she thought about it.
Everyone was always obsessed with Ayla’s hair, including Laura.
With silver hair, she resembles Ophelia.
“You have really nice hair. Your master will be so proud.”
Laura was whispering candy-coated words and carefully combing her hair.
Even though she wandered from mountain to mountain and abandoned fortresses but she never ran out of the finest hair oil to apply to her hair.
Okay. She had believed that this was proof that her father’s love for her and doing this with the utmost seriousness.
However, it wasn’t until she realised that was simply a mysterious fascination with her mother, Ophelia, she realised that it was nothing more than that.
“Aren’t you happy?”
Laura asked in a puzzled voice. Ayla always smiled shyly when someone complimented her hair.
“….Happy.”
Ayla made a shy smile while suppressing her desire to spit in Laura’s face. Only then did Laura seem satisfied and focus on taking care of her hair again.
The meal with Byron was served later than breakfast, closer to lunchtime. This was because he consistently slept in until the sun was high in the sky,
Early in the morning, Ayla had just done her morning workout and shower and was seated at the table when Byron slowly and sleepily entered the dining room, seeming as though he had just woken up.
In the past, She even really liked Byron’s appearance. His blazing red hair and bright yellow eyes are smooth and handsome traits.
She was confident that Byron was her biological father, even if she could not find any similarity to her. It could be said that he had a noble aura that was somehow difficult to match. She was proud of the fact that Byron was her father.
But now that she saw him, She had to defend herself against twisting her face.
She wanted to rush in at this very moment and rip her limbs apart. She wanted to know why she had acted like that.
However, She had to endure it.
In order to find out Byron’s plans and get returned to Roderick and Ophelia safely.
She had to make him believe that she was still blindly following him.
‘So, you have to endure it.’
Ayla coaxed the facial muscles that refused to move and created an incredibly bright smile. She then opened her mouth in a welcoming voice.
“How are you, father?”
She had to meet a father who loved her so much and become an extremely happy girl.
“Okay. My daughter. Come this way.”
She responded to Byron’s beckoning while he was snobbishly perched in a plush chair that could have been a throne. There was a recurring theme to it. He always began each day by petting Ayla’s hair, regardless of how his mood was.
And whenever her father called, she always rushed over with a happy face and kneeled down in front of him. Because at that time, she felt infinitely loved.
So it had to be like that now. She knew she shouldn’t hesitate.
But with just what she knew, her body couldn’t move.
Just like how she lied to Roderick and Ophelia when she was still deceived by Byron and believed that Roderick was his enemy. She thought herself could do that in front of Byron, too.
‘No. Is the situation different from then?’
Roderick and Ophelia were so happy to have found their biological daughter that they just looked at her so happily even though she acted a little awkward, but Byron was different.
If he showed even the slightest hint of suspicion, he would become wary of Ayla. That means that the situation is much more dangerous now.
She’s got to go. She has to endure his touch, no matter how disgusting it seems.
“My daughter, why aren’t you coming?”
Even with that moment of hesitation, Byron noticed something strange and made a disapproving expression. It was worth it since he had never done anything like this before.
Thinking that she couldn’t make any more mistakes, Ayla rushed over and kneeled in front of Byron. He then leaned his arm on Byron’s leg and rested his head on it as if asking for a quick pat.
“Yes, that’s right. You are good, my daughter.”
Although he hesitated for a moment, Byron seemed satisfied with her usual appearance and stretched out his free hand and started stroking her hair.
-Pat, Pat
Every time his touch touched her hair, she felt a shiver run through her spine. It was truly a terrible feeling.
She had been truly foolish in the past. How is it possible that she thinks her father loves her daughter in this way? Wouldn’t it be nice to see a pet dog showing affection to its owner?
“Laura said that she overslept today. That’s why she didn’t train very long in the morning.”
Byron asked with a smile. His hand stroking her hair was still very soft, but his voice was somehow sharp.
“I’m sorry, father.”
Did she just rush over and tell her? Except for when she was out training, Laura always attended to her. It was unclear at what time she reported it.
‘She doesn’t come right away, even when I call her. What’s wrong? What’s going on?’
Now Byron had even stopped stroking her and was looking down at her with cold eyes. He clearly meant he was angry.
