Would You Like to Have a Drink

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night for the entire Imperial City.

The Witch sacrificial Ceremony held during the day had truly shocked countless people.

All forces involved in the fight for the throne were eyeing that position. The factions of the Fifth and Sixth Princes had been increasingly aggressive recently, with constant conflicts of all sizes. It was said that the Fourth Prince had also been getting closer to the Sixth Prince recently, and the Third Prince had even moved directly into the Yuchun Palace, showing the intensity of the fight for the throne.

The Witch Sacrificial Ceremony was bound to choose one from the Fifth and Sixth Princes. People originally favored the Fifth Prince more, but later they also felt that the Sixth Prince had a chance. No matter what, it was the Fifth and Sixth Princes who were the main contenders. Even if the Third Prince came back and moved into the Yuchun Palace, he was not enough to compete with the two princes.

What no one expected was that the name that appeared on the wooden plaque in the end was the Third Prince!

People were first shocked, disbelieving, and finally understood.

No one thought this was a coincidence.

Moreover, after this, not only did His Majesty look extremely satisfied, but he also announced at the court meeting that he would fully entrust the task of setting up the Eastern Palace to the Crown Prince, which could be described as extreme trust and honor.

Regarding the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony, there was originally a lot of discussion. Now seeing His Majesty’s strong support for the Third Prince, and even willing to show others by delegation of power, what else do people not understand?

Perhaps the result of the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony was uncontrollable, but Emperor Yuan was absolutely controllable.

With the character of Emperor Yuan, if a prince he didn’t like becomes the Crown Prince, how could it be possible? After all the calculations, there was only one possibility, it was clear that everyone was fooled before.

As soon as the Crown Prince ascended the throne, the emperor personally came up to be the backing.

Thinking of Emperor Yuan’s usual style, the factions of several princes wilted for a while.

The matter of fighting for the throne, in other countries, still required the harem and the former dynasty to work together to let the concubines whisper. Emperor Yuan was good, he directly cut off this path of the harem, and on weekdays, it could only be left to the courtiers to pull good feelings.

Because the key point of the fight for the throne was still on Emperor Yuan.

They didn’t take the Third Prince seriously before, because the Third Prince had power but was not favored.

Now it’s good, Emperor Yuan, this big mountain, moved forward, who would dare to move?!

The Fifth Prince’s mansion was in chaos, but the master, Zong Yuanwu, was foolishly smiling, holding the Daxia Longque that had just been sent from the Third Prince’s Mansion. He was unwilling to let go, cherishing it as if it were a precious treasure.

He really didn’t expect that the Third Imperial Brother would give him the Daxia Longque!

Zong Yuanwu was clear about his own martial arts skills. It was precisely because he was clear that he was even more moved.

As for the servants and menkes in the mansion who were anxiously running around, and the most anxious old general, Zong Yuanwu only superficially appeased them.

Honestly, in his eyes, there was no one more suitable to ascend to the throne than his Third Imperial Brother.

Being an emperor was so tiring. If the Third Imperial Brother ascended to the throne, he not only didn’t have to fight for the throne, but he could also ask for a leisurely fiefdom, and then be a worry-free salted fish prince in the future. There was nothing more refreshing than this.

Compared to the Fifth Prince’s Mansion, the Sixth Prince was naturally more anxious.

According to the traditional rules of the Great Yuan, since the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony had already chosen the Crown Prince, the other princes should be crowned and prepare to leave the capital.

This was also why Emperor Yuan chose to rebel on the night he received a secret letter after the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony. Because if he missed today, there would only be more variables.

They wanted to emulate Emperor Yuan, but the Sixth Prince had no military power, not to mention that Emperor Yuan was not like the late emperor. The late emperor was clearly lenient, but Emperor Yuan would not be soft-hearted. Whoever dared to rebel, he dared to chop them down.

So tonight, in the end, it could only be thunderous but little rain, each anxious for themselves. (TL: Is very powerful but the ability is very little)

But how frustrated and defeated they were by the result of the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony, only they knew.

After so many years of preparation, so much effort, both sides were determined to win, who could have thought it would be this result?

No one would be willing to accept it.

Among them, the most annoyed was probably Zong Chengsi.

He really didn’t know that the Third Imperial Brother was so good at calculating, stepping on him as bait, and directly jumping to become the Crown Prince.

After returning from the Witch Sacrificial Ceremony, he went to the Sixth Prince’s Mansion and strongly persuaded Zong Yongliu to join forces with the Fifth Prince and simply rebel together.

Zong Chengsi made such a suggestion, naturally harboring the idea of killing someone with a borrowed knife. If he successfully instigated a rebellion and really sent troops, he would also benefit. If he was beaten down by Emperor Yuan, he had no power and no influence, and no matter how he was held accountable, he couldn’t be held accountable.

It’s a pity that Zong Chengsi’s little thought was not enough in front of the whole family’s adviser.

(t/n: killing someone with a borrowed knife-It is a metaphor for using someone else’s hand to harm someone without coming forward)

Not to mention that the Fifth Prince was unwilling to get involved with them, even if he gets involved, the garrison soldiers and the imperial guards were not idle either. The Dingbei was far in the north, not to mention that it couldn’t return at will, even if it was secretly called back, it would take at least a month. If one really wanted to move the military power, the day lilies will only be cold. (TL: the opportunity has been missed and everything is late)

“A bunch of waste!”

As one could imagine, Zong Chengsi returned without success in the end, only returning to the mansion with a belly full of anger.

After returning to the mansion, he was so angry that he simply went to sleep with his head covered.

It was this sleep that gave Zong Chengsi a nightmare.

At first, this dream was a beautiful one.

He dreamed that he had finally achieved his wish, standing in front of the high golden throne, in front of him was the wide dragon chair, and there was no one on top of it.

Outside the hall, all the civil and military officials were bowing their heads, only Prime Minister Pei and the King of Beining, and from their words, it seemed that they were all on his side, helping him ascend to the throne.

Just as Zong Chengsi was about to step forward with a look of ecstasy, he suddenly felt a sharp pain.

He looked down blankly, seeing a blood-stained sword tip emerging from his chest.

Whoosh–

How could anyone think that the 4th and 6th prince would be suitable when they haven’t done anything to prove themselves. I think if any country would have a king who wh0red from day to night, no matter if it’s a front, people would be very pissed. We don’t want to pay taxes for leaders who would waste it.
