When You Turned Your Back On Me, We Became Strangers

WYTYBMWBS I Chapter 03

“You’re going too far. It’s just that I…!”

“That’s all you have to say. It would be more miserable if you said it yourself.”

“Do you think the Duke would even love you? A rejected subject even within her own family.”

Anna mocked. It was no secret that Reilly was almost abandoned by her family.

At first, she thought he loved her, but now she knew that wasn’t the case.

“At least I’m not getting paid for a one-night stand like you are. Anna, do you think that relationship will last forever?”

Reilly put down the teacup she was drinking and got up from her seat. She felt a pain in her stomach.

‘There’s no point in having this conversation with her…….

They were only hurting each other. Technically, it was Theo who did the wrong thing.

He shouldn’t have married her if he didn’t love her,or he shouldn’t have brought Anna as his mistress if he had no intention of starting a family.

There was no happiness here. Riley worried about the child in her womb.

How many days will your child be able to smile while we’re together, and how many times will you have to wear a mask to smile in front of them?

“……A child, a child, Theo only married you to have a child!”

“You are such a pitiful person too.”

“Do you think you’ll ever be happy here? Happy with the child you’ll have?”

Anna thought Reilly couldn’t face reality properly. Her situation would not change just because she would give birth to the child the duke wanted.

“Theo brought me here because he loves me”.

Riley was supposed to be the one to continue the family line, but if she doesn’t than she’s the one who will be abandoned.

she thought to herself .

“I’ll take care of my unborn child and my own happiness, Anna, so why don’t you look at yourself or reality?”

“Ha, do you think Theo sees you as a woman? He loves me, he’s only looking at me!”

Anna’s face, twisted with anger, was more pitiful than adorable.

“If you like him so much, you can have him, and I’ll let him go.”

There is not much time left. There is not much time left to continue this horrible life.

“You think I’m going to believe that?!”

“It doesn’t matter to me, I’m throwing it away, and it’s your choice, Anna, to pick it up or throw it away.”

Anna’s eyes widened at Riley’s sudden change in attitude. She couldn’t read his mind.

“Yeah, keep doubting, keep doubting, because you won’t believe me even if I tell you the truth.”

Anxiety keeps creating doubts. Then, without realizing it, you will be eaten by anxiety and can no longer see your surroundings calmly.

There was no longer a pretty girl who came here with Theo. Anna, who recognized her reality with anxiety, only hurt her face with anxiety as the days went by.

“What’s going on?”

Anna’s loud voice drew Theo out of his work to ask.

“I was just asking because I was curious about what you gave this woman in return yesterday.”

“… … Madam, Anna is not a woman who sells her body.”

“I know, she’s just the mistress, though I don’t know if she came here because she was tricked by you or by herself.”

“I don’t know why you’re getting so upset, but it’s not good for the child.”

Theo looked at Riley and raised an eyebrow. Staring down at his well-developed stomach, he let out a short sigh.

“Is the situation beneficial for the child?”

“Ma’am.”

“So I’m your wife, and since you keep calling me ma’am, it’s only then that I realize I’m the Duke’s wife?”

“…….?”

“…….”

After being a pretentious duchess at home, she was a pretentious duchess even here.

“Speaking of which, What happened to the news about my sister?”

It had been a month since he’d said he would find out. And still Theo hadn’t said anything to Riley.

“I need to see her.”

“You can’t.”

“If you can’t get me out of here, at least call my sister here.”

Riley was determined, unwilling to back down. Theo turned his gaze for a moment and looked at Anna.

“……I’ll let you know when I get an answer from your letter.”

It was like this every time. He was busy avoiding, never giving a clear answer.

Riley and Theo couldn’t fit together like malfunctioning puzzle pieces. He prevented Riley from doing what She wanted to do.

Not that he stopped her, more like he forced her not to.

“How long do I have to wait?”

Her stomach twisted, and pain surged again, causing her to bite her lips. As Riley took a deep breath and leaned forward slightly, Theo approached her to support her.

Maybe because she’s been under stress lately, her stomach kept hurting. For the sake of the child, Reilly tried to keep calm. But that was impossible unless Anna disappeared from her eyes.

“It’s not good for the child. So don’t pay attention to anything else-“

Theo, who approached Reilly, carefully examined her condition. She could only laugh at his desperate fear of something going wrong with his child.

“Madam, calm down first, and let’s go into the room.”

Theo’s hand, gripping her arm, felt terribly unpleasant. She felt like bugs crawling, and she wanted to rip it away immediately, repulsed by the dirty sensation.

“Disgusting. I feel like I’m going to throw up. Yuck!

Riley swallowed hard, unable to hold back the vomit.

“If you don’t tell me about my sister by the end of the week, I’m coming to see her myself, you know that.”

She pulled away her hand from Theo and caught her breath.

Anna quietly observed the situation she had created. The sight of the two arguing seemed quite satisfying to her, so she leaned against the wall, not leaving her position, and watched with interest.

“I’ve written to her, but She hasn’t answered, and as you know, the Traillas are returning my letters.”

“I said you didn’t send it to my father; I asked you to contact her directly.”

He might do something to her if she kept bothering him, so it was safe to contact Leta directly.

If you pursue it to the point of being impossible to ignore, a response will come. Instead, the letter she would receive would most likely contain nothing but lies from her father.

Anna, having grown tired of their conversation, came over to them. With an innocent look on her face, she shook her head and said to Riley.

“Well, if she were married, wouldn’t she?”

It had been a month now since she had been informed that her sister Leta was getting married.

But already married?

Riley doubted my ears.

Theo had said he hadn’t heard from his sister, so how did Anna know that Leta was married?

If Anna knew, there was no way Theo didn’t. He must be lying to me.

“Did you mean to say She is already married?”

Even if she was abandoned by her family, she was still Letta’s sister.

How could she have married without me knowing about it? If not my father, at least Leta would have sent an invitation.

Most of all, it was a marriage she didn’t want. If she was in a hurry to get married, there was only one reason: her father. If not that, then…….

“Did you get an invitation?”

Theo shook his head softly. He didn’t look like he was lying, but She couldn’t believe him. It was possible that he was hiding the truth from her because he was afraid She would leave.

He needed a child to carry the blood of Riley, of House Trailla.

“If you’re lying to me, you’re going to have to pay for it.”

If something bad had happened to Leta, it was possible that she had asked her for help and she had given up on her because she hadn’t responded. Leta had always been a good follower of Riley and felt insecure about being home alone.

Most of all, it was because of her that her father turned his attention to her sister.

She could only imagine, how her father treated her sister after she left the house.

“I hope something hasn’t happened to Leta”.

She had to see Leta as soon as possible. She would pay a maid to send her a letter in secret. Riley headed for her room, cursing herself for trusting him.

“Riley!”

Theo called after her, but Anna didn’t stop him. This was exactly what she wanted, waiting for them to lose trust, to hate each other, to tear each other apart.

Their relationship was already tangled without her doing anything.

“I can see the end even if I don’t come forward.”

Anna summoned her maid to bring her tea. As she sat at the table and sipped her tea, she quietly summoned one of the maids and handed her a letter.

“Let it burn, it seems like trouble has come again.”
