Unstoppable Affection

Ying Chi Yi chuckled when Ying Huan claimed not to know Xu Jingyu, saying triumphantly, “Xu Jingyu, let me tell you, you have no face in front of my sister. You’re just a pixelated blur! Do you even know what pixelation means?”

Xu Jingyu: “…”

This brat always exposes her shortcomings. Ying Huan immediately pressed an ice pack to Ying Chi’s ear and said, “Don’t say anything.”

Ying Chi shivered from the cold, smiling as she asked quietly, “Sis, you really don’t remember him?”

“Nope.”

Xu Jingyu paused his tying of the straps and looked at Ying Huan. The young girl didn’t meet his gaze, but her lips curved slightly. He raised an eyebrow and continued tying the straps, chuckling softly.

He knew Ying Huan remembered him.

As training partner Cao Wei walked over and tossed him his boxing gloves, Xu Jingyu caught them in mid-air, put them on, and started training.

Ying Huan stopped Ying Chi’s bleeding and asked, “Feeling dizzy?”

Ying Chi shook his head, “Not at all.”

As Ying Huan was about to check him for any other injuries, a flippant laugh sounded behind her. “Hey, are you the medic here? Or Ying Chi’s sister? You look pretty young…”

Ying Huan turned around.

It was the boy she had just sparred with, still sporting some minor injuries on his face.

Ying Chi furrowed her brow slightly, displeased as she said, “She’s my sister. What’s it to you?”

Ying Chi had already told Ying Huan earlier that his name was Chen Senran.

Chen Senran was quite handsome, with fair skin and tattoos on both his biceps, the patterns of which were hard to discern. Like Ying Chi, he was also a freshman at University A, but he was admitted as a special recruit. He had attended Eighteen Middle School before, where he had poor grades and was a troublemaker. People like him were hard to discipline, and if Wu Qi hadn’t been unable to recruit better candidates, he wouldn’t have accepted him.

But it couldn’t be denied that Chen Senran was a decent boxer, with both speed and power, and a solid defense.

Both were in the 69-kilogram weight class, so Wu Qi wanted Ying Chi and Chen Senran to have a match to see how much difference there was in their strength.

So far, it seemed that Ying Chi was slightly inferior, mainly because he lacked strength compared to Chen Senran.

Chen Senran pointed to his face and smiled, saying, “I’ve got an injury here. Help me with it, will you?”

Ying Huan glanced at him and said, “Sure, have a seat.”

Chen Senran plopped down, spreading his legs wide like a boss and leaning against the ropes. Ying Huan adjusted her skirt, propping her right knee against the table. Seeing his eyebrow was also injured, she asked, “Feeling dizzy?”

“Yeah,” he replied.

“Then lie down.”

“Can I not lie down?”

Ying Huan glanced at him, her expression already turning cold. Still, she said, “Fine.”

Ying Chi frowned as he listened nearby. Catching Ying Huan’s eye, the boy stood up irritably.

Wu Qi looked at Chen Senran and said coldly, “That little injury won’t affect you much. Get it treated quickly and get back to training. Don’t try to slack off.”

Chen Senran’s expression slightly changed at Wu Qi’s sternness. Reluctantly nodding, he said, “Got it. Can I at least rest for a bit?”

“Half an hour.”

After Wu Qi finished speaking, he sent Ying Chi away.

Ying Huan rinsed his wounds with antiseptic. Compared to Ying Chi, Chen Senran’s injuries were much lighter. She quickly cleaned them and placed an ice pack on his head, saying, “Keep it pressed. Ice it for a while. Let me know if you still feel dizzy.”

Chen Senran grinned and asked, “If I faint, can you give me mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?”

“No.”

Ying Huan’s face turned completely cold as she packed up the medical kit and stood up. She picked up the medical kit and walked towards the stairs.

Behind her, Chen Senran whistled and continued to smile, “Fine, fine. I don’t need it. I was worried your steel teeth would scratch me.”

Hearing this, Ying Huan turned around, her gaze icy. It seemed to say, “Why didn’t I poison you earlier?” Chen Senran had heard her soothing tone when she was comforting Ying Chi earlier, which made her appear easy to manipulate. Now, seeing her smile freeze at his words, he licked his lips nervously, shifted back uncomfortably, but refused to back down, saying, “I was just telling the truth.”

Ying Huan didn’t respond and briskly walked down the stairs with the medical kit. She placed the kit down and quickly went to the front desk, grabbed a disposable cup, and remembered the bottle of water Xu Jingyu had given her in the car, which she had only taken a few sips of. She put the cup back and went to the rest area to grab a water bottle, taking a few sips.

Calm down.

Ying Chi had just joined the team and couldn’t afford to cause trouble.

Meanwhile, Xu Jingyu was caught off guard by a punch from Cao Wei, who hesitated for a moment. He didn’t expect such a simple right hook to land. Confused, he asked, “What’s wrong with you? You’re not focused enough. That punch just now should have landed.”

“Nothing, just lost focus.”

As Xu Jingyu’s mind briefly flashed back to Ying Huan’s cold gaze, like a well-behaved kitten suddenly getting riled up, revealing sharp teeth, his whole demeanor changed.

Cao Wei glanced towards the boxing ring. “Is that girl Ying Chi’s sister?”

Xu Jingyu grunted in response, throwing a heavy punch to the abdomen.

Cao Wei quickly blocked and added, “Doesn’t really look like her.”

Xu Jingyu smirked slightly. Indeed, she didn’t quite resemble Ying Chi.

The whole afternoon, Ying Huan spent her time at the club. When Ying Chi was doing his strength training, she wandered over to his side out of boredom.

During Ying Chi’s half-minute break, he looked somewhat regretful as he said to her, “If I had known, I would have let you go back first. You look pretty bored here.”

Ying Huan smiled. “I’m not bored. Just focus on your training.”

Ying Chi nodded. “Mm.”

Ying Huan glanced at the guy nearby with tattoos on his arms. She still couldn’t remember Chen Senran’s face, so she relied on the tattoos to recognize him. Pointing in his direction, she said, “Keep it up. Next time, defeat that Chen Senran. Your punches are more beautiful and agile than his. You’re better than him.”

“Really?” Ying Chi’s heart swelled with pride, his eyes lighting up. “Coach Wu just said that too. My speed is faster than his, but I lack strength.”

“It’s true.”

“Yeah!”

“Keep it up. Beat him next time.”

Ying Huan repeated her encouragement.

Ying Chi thought she was just cheering him on and eagerly agreed.

As Xu Jingyu passed by the siblings, he paused and glanced at Ying Huan. “What did Chen Senran do to you? You seem so eager to defeat him.”

Hearing his voice, Ying Huan’s mind momentarily blanked. She turned to look at him and said calmly, “Nothing. I just want Ying Chi to win. Is there a problem?”

Xu Jingyu looked at her face, somewhat incredulous. Chen Senran had joined the team before Ying Chi, and he was quite sarcastic. Most people in the team didn’t like him, and he figured that the guy must have said something unpleasant to make Ying Huan so angry.

These siblings were just like their nature.

Ying Chi exploded at the slightest provocation, without any pretense.

Ying Huan…

As Xu Jingyu looked at her fair face, a shadow crossed his mind. He imagined the girl holding a doll with the name “Chen Senran” written on it, jabbing it repeatedly with needles, muttering, “This is for bullying me.”

The image was vivid.

It was so different from the quiet and obedient girl in front of him, contrasting in a cute and unexpected way.

He couldn’t help but chuckle and glanced at Ying Chi. “Keep it up, little chicken. Your sister is waiting for you to take revenge.”

Ying Chi looked utterly baffled, not understanding why he was suddenly being scolded again.

Xu Jingyu took a few steps forward, then suddenly stood up and shouted loudly, “Ahhhh! Xu Jingyu, you wait for me! I’m going to KO you!”

With his back turned to them, Xu Jingyu raised his hand in a casual gesture of acknowledgment.

Ying Huan: “…”

Other boxers who were training all turned their attention towards them, unable to help exchanging glances.

“What’s going on?” someone asked.

Shi Lei chuckled. “Is that kid out of his mind? KO Xu Jingyu? KO the King?”

Yang Jingcheng chimed in, “Is it wrong to have dreams? I also want to KO the King. Then I’d be the King.”

Shi Lei sneered, “You’re really good at dreaming.”

Chen Senran raised an eyebrow, leaning against the equipment. “Who knows? Maybe I can do it.”

The two glanced at him, smiled, and didn’t say anything more.

Ying Huan felt like she shouldn’t have come here. She rubbed Ying Chi’s head and said, “Alright, let’s train. Don’t let him provoke you.”

Ying Chi was furious but sat on the equipment, continuing his training nonetheless.

Before the summer vacation, Ying Huan had already found two part-time jobs teaching children how to draw. It was a summer camp organized by a training institution, introduced to her by Jiang Meng. She taught two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each with only three students aged six or seven. Although there were no rest days, it was still quite relaxed.

Because of her teaching schedule, Ying Huan hadn’t been to the club for quite a while.

Training at the club during the summer vacation was intensive. Since their home was quite far away, Ying Chi would come and go early and late every day. Sometimes he would return home with bruises on his face and body. Ying Haisheng thought he was out boxing again to earn prize money and scolded him several times.

No matter how Ying Huan and Ying Chi tried to explain, Ying Haisheng didn’t quite believe them because of their past misdeeds.

Ying Huan could only say, “When we have time, I’ll take you to the club to see for yourself.”

This barely calmed Ying Haisheng down.

In mid-August, after finishing a class, Ying Huan waited until the parents picked up their children before heading downstairs.

As she reached the ground floor, she heard someone calling her.

She turned around with her drawing board on her back.

A man in a white shirt and black trousers smiled at her. “Ying Huan, you’re doing a part-time job here?”

Ying Huan looked at his handsome face, feeling a sense of familiarity but couldn’t quite remember who he was. She nodded cautiously. “Yeah.”

The man smiled, looking at her drawing board. “Didn’t expect you to be good at drawing.”

“I’ve been learning for several years.”

“Hmm, pretty good.” Zhou Baihao looked at her and felt she was too reserved. He smiled again. “Where are you going? Shall I give you a ride?”

Ying Huan thought to herself, “I don’t even know who you are. How could I possibly get in your car?”

She shook her head. “No, thanks.”

With that, she prepared to leave.

Just as she turned around, the door of the black sedan in front of her opened, and Xu Jingyu got out of the car with a little boy in his arms. The little boy was the son of Zhou Baihao’s older brother, six years old, here for calligraphy class. Xu Jingyu and Zhou Baihao were going back to the compound together, so they picked up the little boy on the way.

Ying Huan was taken aback for a moment, looking at him. “What are you doing here?”

Didn’t Ying Chi say that training in the team was exhausting these days?

Xu Jingyu smirked. “Recognize me?”

Ying Huan: “…”

He nodded towards Zhou Baihao. “Don’t you remember him?”

Ying Huan looked straight at him, a bit annoyed that he had so directly exposed her disguise. She could have pretended a little longer, chatted a bit more, and figured out who that man was without offending anyone.

But Xu Jingyu didn’t understand her complicated thoughts and just said directly, “Zhou Baihao.”

Ying Huan’s mouth opened in surprise…

Oh, now she remembered. Xu Jingyu’s fake name, the cocky one.

The investor in the club, Ying Chi’s boss.

She raised her eyebrows and looked at Zhou Baihao, smiling sweetly. “Of course, I remember, General Zhou.”

Zhou Baihao was momentarily taken aback by her sudden subtle change, but he didn’t think much of it and just smiled.

Xu Jingyu looked at her meaningfully.

Remember my ass.

But she’s really good at acting.
