Unstoppable Affection

The carriage fell into an eerie silence.

This eerie silence persisted for a minute, and the people around focused their gaze on Xu Jingyu and Ying Huan. Were university students nowadays so open? Flirting on a public bus!

Ying Huan looked up at Xu Jingyu, who had a playful look in his eyes. “Hmm?”

She looked at him calmly, then suddenly smirked. “Sure.”

If you dare, then go ahead and take your shirt off on the bus.

Ying Huan had always been a well-behaved girl in front of her parents and relatives, but that was when she wasn’t pushed and when she needed something from others. Zhong Weivi had said that Ying Huan was the most adaptable and willing to take risks person she’d ever met.

Shi Lei had been stunned since Ying Huan said that. Was his junior sister really like this?

Ying Huan lowered her head, too tired to argue. This stop was very short, only two minutes away. She heard Xu Jingyu chuckle softly. As the bus doors opened, she subconsciously reached for the handle of her suitcase, but Xu Jingyu lifted it directly. Their hands touched briefly, his hand still pressing down on her delicate little finger.

Both of them froze for a moment.

Ying Huan withdrew her hand, handing the suitcase over to him, and walked past him, saying, “Thank you.”

She was wearing a blue dress today, reaching her calves, her long hair loosely tied behind her head, and carrying a small shoulder bag. Her silhouette was slender and soft. Xu Jingyu glanced at her, then swept his gaze over Shi Lei, who was scratching his head, and said, “What are you staring at?”

He picked up the suitcase and strode to the back door.

Once off the bus, the club entrance was in sight. Ying Huan walked ahead, and Shi Lei approached her, grinning. “Junior sister, is face blindness similar to nearsightedness? Even if I walk up to you, you can’t tell who I am? Or do you have some special way of recognizing people?”

Yang Jingcheng added, “Like not wearing clothes?”

Ying Huan looked at them speechlessly.

“There’s nothing special. I just have a slower memory for faces. I didn’t recognize you because I’ve only seen you once. If I see you a few more times, I’ll remember,” she explained.

“How many times?” Xu Jingyu turned his head slightly, looking down at her.

“Four or five times,” Ying Huan replied.

Xu Jingyu said indifferently, “It’s been more than five times for you and me.”

Ying Huan didn’t understand why he was so fixated on this question. She furrowed her brows lightly. Maybe she hadn’t recognized him on the street because she wasn’t paying much attention. Due to some face blindness, she didn’t pay much attention to her surroundings while walking.

It was the hottest time of the day, noon in the summer.

Ying Huan was someone who didn’t like being exposed to the sun. If her skin was exposed for too long, it would become sensitive and red. She looked up at Xu Jingyu, who was facing the sunlight, and his facial features looked especially good. She even felt the sunlight was a bit dazzling, feeling a little dizzy as she squinted her eyes. Her gaze fell on the logo on his chest, and she said honestly, “I might not have paid much attention. If you wear red clothes, you’ll stand out more, and I’ll recognize you.”

So, was it still recognizing people by their clothes colors?

Xu Jingyu snorted lightly, chuckling as he looked at her. “So if your boyfriend wears red clothes in the future, won’t it be like every man wearing red clothes on the street looks like your boyfriend?”

Ying Huan remained silent for a few seconds before saying, “Well, you don’t need to worry about that.”

“True,” Xu Jingyu raised an eyebrow, no longer teasing her, and carried the suitcase into the club.

Ying Huan’s suitcase was heavy, filled with various things and books. He carried it as easily as a bag of bread, and she glanced at Shi Lei and Yang Jingcheng, pulling her bag strap, and quickly walked in.

As soon as they entered, they saw Ying Chi on the boxing ring. He was wearing red shorts and shirtless, tying his belt.

In the past year, Ying Chi had been training on his own. He ran for an hour every day and trained strength at a nearby gym. After the college entrance examination, he appeared thinner, but his muscles were firmer.

But his skin was too fair, coupled with his young age and handsome face, it wasn’t noticeable normally.

Xu Jingyu turned back and said to Ying Huan, “There’s a lounge ahead. You can leave the suitcase there.”

Ying Huan nodded. “Okay, thank you.”

As soon as Ying Chi heard the voice, he hurriedly looked up and walked happily to the edge of the boxing ring. “Sis.”

Ying Huan smiled at him. “You go ahead and train. Don’t worry about me.”

“Alright, wait for me.”

Ying Chi didn’t have time to pay attention to Ying Huan. Wu Qi had already urged him.

Ying Huan placed the suitcase, looked around, and found that there were more boxers participating in training today than last time, of various heights, weights, fat and thin. Because there was no weight limit for the over 91 kg weight class, there were two boxers in the 91 kg class who looked particularly burly, but without much muscle, just big guys.

Ying Huan looked around and found that there weren’t many good-looking people, except for Ying Chi and…

She walked to the resting area and saw Xu Jingyu coming towards her with a cup of water. She thought to herself: there really aren’t many good-looking boxers like Ying Chi and Xu Jingyu.

Xu Jingyu poured himself a glass of water and leaned back on the sofa, finishing it in a few gulps.

Standing in front of him, Ying Huan asked, “Did the club recruit a lot of new people?”

Xu Jingyu chuckled, “Can you tell if they’re new or old?”

Ying Huan wanted to roll her eyes. “It just feels like there are more people.”

He nodded lightly, lounging on the sofa with his long legs stretched out lazily. “Yeah, we recruit new members every June to prepare for the competitions in the second half of the year and the beginning of the next year. There are quite a few boxing competitions of various sizes in the country.”

Ying Huan asked, “Can Ying Chi participate?”

Xu Jingyu glanced at her. “Ying Chi just joined the team. The team will gradually arrange matches for him, including team matches, individual matches, and selection matches, among others. However, some competitions have limited spots, and there are several 69 kg class athletes in the team, so Ying Chi may not necessarily be able to participate. There’s also competition within the club.”

In situations with limited spots, it’s a matter of who’s stronger.

Ying Huan turned her head to glance at Ying Chi.

She had never understood how the club boxers trained before. Now, seeing Ying Chi putting on his gloves and facing an unfamiliar young man, seemingly about to have a match, she asked again, “Is this part of the training?”

With his eyes closed, Xu Jingyu’s voice was low and hoarse. “Ying Chi hasn’t fought in a match for a long time. Coach Wu asked him to get a feel for it.”

Ying Huan nodded quietly, then turned around. She noticed that he had closed his eyes and was resting.

She fell silent.

After a few minutes, Xu Jingyu seemed to have really fallen asleep. Ying Huan looked towards the boxing ring and got up to walk over.

Hearing footsteps, Xu Jingyu half-opened his eyes and glanced.

In the corner of the boxing ring, there were dedicated steps for the ringside doctor and referee doctor. It also prevented any contact between the two sides during matches. Ying Huan stood at the steps and saw Ying Chi taking several heavy punches, his brow and nose bleeding.

Is the opponent very strong?

Or…

Has Ying Chi become weak because he hasn’t fought in so long?

As one round ended, Wu Qi glanced at Ying Chi. “Do you need to take care of your injuries first?”

Ying Chi sniffed, feeling frustrated. “I’m fine, I’ll deal with it after the match.”

The club had medical personnel, but they weren’t always stationed by the ring. However, there was a first aid kit nearby, and during training, boxers could handle minor injuries themselves.

After finishing the match, before the medical staff could be called over, Ying Huan climbed onto the ring with the first aid kit, handling it skillfully.

After resting for half an hour, Xu Jingyu got up to prepare for training. Seeing her climb onto the ring, he narrowed his eyes slightly.

Ying Chi slumped on the edge of the ring, leaning against the corner, feeling somewhat down. “Sis.”

Ying Huan said, “Tilt your head back.”

Ying Chi obediently tilted his head back and said softly, “Sis, there’s a competition in September, in Guangzhou. I want to participate, but I don’t know if it’s possible…”

“There’s still over two months left.”

“Yeah.”

“If I participate in the competition, would you come to watch? It should be during the summer vacation.”

Ying Huan paused as she applied pressure to his brow bone. “It depends on the timing. I’ll be working part-time during the summer vacation.”

Meanwhile, Xu Jingyu changed into a pair of red boxing shorts with a gold waistband. With his strong upper body bare, he stood beside the equipment, tying the straps. His movements were quick and skilled, as if he had done it thousands of times before. He tied the left hand quickly.

As Ying Huan flipped over the ice pack, she glanced over at him.

His physique was impressive, and he was handsome. But when he tied the straps, he looked even more attractive than usual, exuding a natural charm that was irresistible.

Ying Huan didn’t hide her admiration and took a few more glances.

Xu Jingyu pulled another strap and then turned around suddenly.

“Ying Huan.”

She hesitated, meeting his slightly raised eyes, sensing that something might not be good.

“Exactly.”

Xu Jingyu smirked, turning to look at her. “What are you looking at? Recognize who I am now?”

Ying Huan replied expressionlessly, “….”

She turned away without expression. “Don’t recognize.”

Xu Jingyu: Recognizing people by their clothes? Then half the people wearing red on the street must be your boyfriends?

Ying Xiaohuan: No, the most shameless one is.
