There Are Too Many Second Male Leads!

Child of Luganet (4)

She ate like crazy from morning until noon, probably because she was rolling around so much.

As she ate, she nodded eagerly as Chase explained the day’s events. She didn’t forget to glance over at Louise every now and then and send him a friendly glance, because…….

[Louise Clemend: 24% likability]

Louise’s favorability rating was increasing rapidly with each passing day. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before he surpasses 80%. Also, Evan…….

[Evan Clemens: 10% favorability]

‘No, but what the hell was he doing up there?’

‘Is he the type of guy who gets his likability up by fighting?’

She checked Evan’s favorability rating and suddenly remembered the day of the fight and turned her head sharply.

She could feel his eyes on her, but she didn’t care, focusing on the food in front of her.

“So… you’re telling me I’ve been dead for a while?”

She was talking with her mouth full, stumbling over her words, while Chase nodded with his kind, comforting smile still on his face.

“Not exactly, but the Archbishop said so, so it probably was.”

She chewed through the mess of food in her mouth, then replied with deliberate cheerfulness.

“Ah. There must have been some mistake, I’m perfectly fine, don’t worry, Dad!”

“Okay. Good, good, good.”

How she had mysteriously disappeared from the practice field and ended up lying dead in bed was something they never quite figured out, but they never made an issue of it. Evan’s search turned up no sign of the intruder, and as it turned out, she was out of harm’s reach.

“Sooner or later, I’ll have to break the news that you’re awake.”

Chase said he couldn’t keep her awakening from the temple forever, and when she asked him why he thought it was necessary to keep her awakening from the temple, he mumbled something unintelligible.

“Well, for one thing, you’ve proven that you had nothing to do with when Luganet lost his light…….”

“What?”

“Nothing. Anyway, I’ll make an official announcement in due time, so you’ll know.”

She didn’t know what Chase was talking about, but the looks on Evan and Louise’s faces told her She shouldn’t ask anymore.

The silence felt heavy with an unknown weight, and after a moment of thought, She blinked.

“Huh? Is there an agaloo out there? (Huh? So you can go out there?)”

“Yep. We’ll have a little party at the right time, just wait a little while.”

“Wow! Yowayo! (Wow! Okay!)”

Now it’s going to be a lot easier to find a Male Lead!

When she heard what happened to her, she felt a shiver runs down her spine.

Someone kidnapped her on the day she was riding her horse, and turned her into a plant-human for a while. Completely lifeless body without any mana or divine power.

She checked her stats, just to be sure, and to her relief, her abilities were still there.

‘The intruder must be ……, right?’

A man with long graying hair.

She couldn’t see him properly due to the overwhelming drowsiness, but the divine aura surrounding him remained vivid to her.

She kept quiet about the intruder, not wanting to worry her family. Furthermore, she didn’t think the man’s purpose was to kill her anyway.

─he wants her to live. It is the will of the gods.

Chase didn’t give her many details about the temple, but she got the feeling that it was a danger to her. What’s weird is, the guy seems to be some kind of god himself.

‘Is he the only one in the temple who supports me?’

“Dad, I have a question.”

“Yes.”

“Can you have a relationship with a priest in the temple?”

“Pooh-pooh!”

It was Louise who spewed out the water he’d been drinking at her question. Chase froze as if he’d turned to ice, and Evan glared at her with an even more murderous expression than before. The mood suddenly turned icy, and the people next to her noticed.

It was then.

Ding!

[Louise Clement: Likeability -4]

Tie Ling!

[Evan Clemend: Favorability -2] Ting!

‘What? Hey!’

‘Oh, come on!’

The study of the imperial palace was a place where only those of imperial blood were allowed to enter, so there was no better place to hide from the prying eyes of the ministers.

In his private study, Emperor Arnold Rumancia was waiting for someone. Soon there was a knock at the door, and an aide called out to him.

“Your Majesty.”

He didn’t say who it was or what their business was, but Emperor Arnold seemed to know all about it and ordered the aide from the doorway in a low voice.

“Enter.”

Arnold’s silver hair whipped around him as he stood there with the window open, his blue eyes rolling silently.

“Archbishop Verger, greetings to the Sun of the Empire.”

The black-robed figure approached with a shuffling step, avoiding the crowd. Arnold’s wall, looking down from his second-floor window, shimmered with his steps.

Watching him intently, Arnold clicked his tongue in disgust.

“Failure.”

The fact that he had come here in such a passive manner was proof that things had not gone as well as he had hoped.

Arnold frowned before the black-robed man even looked up.

“I thought you said you were sure, Archbishop Verger.”

At Arnold’s question, Verger hastily removed his robes and shook his head.

“Well, that’s…… I don’t quite understand either, surely there’s a connection between the contents of the last trust, Luganet, and the lord Clement’s…….”

“There’s one more thing.”

Arnold cut him off, as if he didn’t need to hear Verger’s excuses. From where he stood by the window, he descended the stairs and strode briskly to Verger’s front door. Verger shivered with every step the emperor took.

“The day the child was born.”

As soon as Emperor Arnold stood before him, a cold sweat ran down his face.

“I checked the nursery papers, and she was born long after my coronation.”

“……!”

“What makes you think the Trust and the child are connected?”

His jaw dropped in awe as he stood face to face with the Emperor.

He may have been short, but his huge body, looking like it had four extra heads, had people gossiping that the ancient Emperor had come back to life.

His eyes were as clear as spring water, but some people said they looked like a frozen lake, giving them a creepy look within his walls.

“Why can’t you answer?”

The glassy pupils glowed sharply. Stunned, Verger quickly opened his mouth.

” the birthdate in the orphanage are not the actual days the children were born. The date on the paperwork is the date they were dropped off at the orphanage, so we don’t know exactly when they were born.”

“I see. Why did you suspect the child was ‘Luganet’s child’ without knowing the exact date?”

Emperor Arnold’s question flew by without a moment to catch his breath.

Back then, the temple’s nursery school brought the children to the central temple for Nursery Day. On that day, Verger, a simple priest, saw something he shouldn’t have.

A long thread of luganet light stretched out in front of a tiny, walking girl.

The orange glow, glowing like a sunset, was not the holy, healing, or magical power one might find in a temple. As far as Verger knew, there was only one thing in the Roman Empire capable of radiating the noble color.

The Luganet, the treasure of the empire.

While Verger was mesmerized, the child disappeared, and her cries came from inside the vault. Somehow, the child was sobbing beneath the luganet, its light gone.

And there, the Duke of Chase Clemend stood, mesmerized.

“What do you know?”

Verger spoke, barely above the Emperor’s whisper.

“Twelve years ago, on the day of the Oracle, the Luganet lost its light.”

“I know.”

“the child was there when Luganet lost her light. I saw the child and Luganet connected by the light.”

Arnold’s eyes widened at Verger’s declaration.

“And it was after that that Duke Clemend adopted the child. We need to keep an eye on Duke Clemend.”

He hadn’t told the Emperor about this until now, because he didn’t want to turn Duke Clemend into an enemy. But now that he was already on Clement’s bad side, Verger wanted to make sure the Emperor was on his side.

“Well, I don’t know how he did it this time, but I’m sure he had something to do with Luganet.”

Verger stuttered as he realized his mistake, but he managed to spit out his words.

The Imperials and the Temple had been at odds since their founding, but for once, their goals were the same.

Emperor Arnold needed to remove the ‘hidden sun of the empire’ from the stigma of the ‘false sun’, and the Temple needed to restore the light of Luganet to prevent its prestige from falling.

“I see.”

Emperor Arnold sounded intrigued. He smiled eerily as if pleased with the new information when only a few minutes ago he’d been dissatisfied with Verger’s bungling.

She couldn’t believe it. Furthermore, Chase had rescinded his promise to release her from her confinement in the mansion soon and said he would wait and see how things went for a while.

‘No, come on! Maybe he doesn’t know that it’s not okay to date a priest!’

The three Clementine men’s reactions were quite cold for such a lighthearted question.

Roella was immature.

Evan and Louise exchanged insults like a pair of fantasy partners, the words flowing out of their mouths like a faucet.

“Having a black heart for the priests of the gods, so uncivilized.”

“You’ve never even been in a relationship. You’re a child……!”

“I was just asking because I don’t know!”

“I have something else to ask you!”
Evan glared at her, and Louise shouted at her in frustration, but no effect. As her scolding grew longer, she sent a hopeful glance to Chase, but he was still in shock when he spoke up.

‘I’ll have to reconsider leaving the mansion for a while, I’d forgotten for a moment that I’d lost my memory.’

─Dad!

” Dad.”

“Yes. You’re supposed to learn swordsmanship from me anyway. Stay home and study.”

“Wow, that’s so unfair!”

Now, if she ever wants to ask something from the three of them, she’ll never ask them, ever!

She grunted as she sat down at her desk and opened her notebook. The notebook contained a list of male candidates and their current favorability ratings.

[Candidates]

1. Evan Clement 10% favorability rating

2. Louise Clemend favorability 24%.

3. Kai Twilley 20% favorability

4. the smokehouse intruder (presumably a temple person) ??]

She nervously checked Evan and Louise’s favorability ratings. She did this to fix the minus she saw earlier.

[Candidates]

1. Evan Clemens: 8% favorability

2. 20% favorability rating for Luiz Clement]

What year was this?

Wasn’t a minus really too much?

“System, don’t give and take away like a human being!”

Ah. Not human, but whatever!

She screamed into the air, but all she got back was silence. Her heart thudded against her chest in frustration, and she slammed the notebook shut.
