There Are Too Many Second Male Leads!

Child of Luganet (5)

CH-19

“Yay!”

Thud!

The swung wooden sword collapsed in the air, and Roella narrowly avoided it as it crashed to the ground. In front of her, Louise shook her head and used the wooden sword as a stick to strike Roella’s shoulder.

“You’re using too much strength, don’t be greedy.”

The training ground was bustling with the shaman knights who had returned from their training.

They were always stealing glances at Roella whenever she moved her body vigorously. Sometimes Louise even shouted at them for interrupting her training, but it wasn’t enough to distract them.

“We should put up a temporary wall.”

A sigh escaped Roella’s lips whenever she missed a sword strike, and she thought she heard a few cheers whenever Louise struck her with her wooden sword. Only Roella didn’t seem to mind.

“Isn’t dull enough?

Roella trained in a corner, facing the wall, not wanting to disturb the Clement’s Knights. It was as if she didn’t care about anything but her training.

“Why is she working so hard?”

They had been training for three days now. For three months, Roella hadn’t missed a single training session. She never overslept, never missed a single training session, and never complained. Sometimes, when she looked a little tired, she would call my name to keep her spirits up.

“Roella!”

It was so unusual.

At his shout, the knights behind her clapped their hands in unison.

Louise glared at them, and they shrugged and they just shrugged like it was no big deal. Louise knew she needed to set up a practice area just for Roella as soon as she could.

* * *

“Roella!”

She deliberately yelled her name out loud as her body sagged, and the stat she checked every day popped up in front of her.

[Roella Clemend

Strength: 20 (+1)

Agility: 16

Stamina: 20 (+1)

Magic Power: 28

Charm: 19 (+2)]

She checked her stats before She started training and then checked them again. She did this to motivate herself when she was tired of training.

A month ago, She was pretty good at missing her target in three hours, but that doesn’t mean her legs feel any lighter like She’ve lost a weight on them.

“How much more training do I have to do to recover as well as a normal person……!”

For the first week, She was sore as if She’d been beaten with a stick, but by today, her body had finally recovered. The change in her stats was the reason she’ve been training so hard.

From the third day of training, her strength, stamina, and charm increased. She suspected that the reason for the increase in charm was because of the Knights who were following her closely behind.

It was only one or two, but it was good news to know that She could increase her stats on her own without mission rewards and healing.

“Let’s go eat.”

Louise said, her voice softening at lunchtime.

[Louise Clement: 36% likability].

She smiled broadly as She saw the favorability rating glowing above her head.

“Yes, big brother!”

* * *

She was lying on the bed with her eyes closed, and she opened them as quietly as ever.

She turned on a small nightstand on her desk and pulled a notebook out of a drawer as if it were familiar.

“Let’s see.”

She wanted to jump into bed right away, but She couldn’t because of her tight schedule. She still had her most important “Guess the male lead” mission to complete.

She quickly scanned through the things she had written down on the back of her bucket list.

[Emperor of Rumancia > Four Dukes > Temple > Steeple > Nobles]

She unfolded a mind map centered on the power structure. She made the notes because She thought that a fictionalized baron would have some realistic power.

[Imperial House of Rumancia – Crown Prince]

Fourth Dukes – Brother Clemend, Kai Twilly

Temple (?) – The Smokehouse Invaders

Tower of Matap – Wizard?]

She tried to write down the power structure as best she could, but she still don’t know much about the Roman Empire, so it’s not easy to guess, and if it weren’t for Isabella’s class, She wouldn’t be able to do it at all.

These days, we were learning about the topography of the Roman Empire. she’ve been learning about the center of the islands, called Lumance Street, the heart of the empire, the Forest of Rene, the Forest of Illusions, the Sinella Mines, where the Tears of the Gods were said to sleep, and Lake Hibben, owned by Clemend, where Ethelstone was mass-produced.

She planned to visit these places as soon as she was released from her mansion imprisonment.

“…… I need to find a candidate for the South Lord quickly.”

Aside from her family and her best friend Kai, there were no obvious candidates. Time was running out to find a new candidate and make them likeable.

As the days passed, She grew more impatient. She still hadn’t gotten a single solid hint about Male Lead, who was still locked up in the mansion. There was one more problem.

“I haven’t gotten a mission in three days.

She clenched her fountain pen tightly against the blank page.

She hadn’t gotten any more missions since she was locked up in the mansion, unable to see Male leads. Apparently, missions would only appear when she made a connection with male lead.

So her choice was to prepare.

Realizing that a year was never enough time, She devoted her mornings to sword training and her afternoons to studying with Lady Isabella Twilly. There was no mission, no reward, but just being able to live in a healthy body made it all seem less like hard work.

The only thing that bothered her more was death. The idea of living only a year in a healthy body and then disappearing into dust was terrifying to her.

She thought to herself, “This time, I’m not going to die for nothing.”

She built up her strength for the mission, studied with Isabella to learn more about the Barons, and then identified a few places and identities where she could meet them. There was a lot of work to be done, once the mansion was unlocked.

A click.

Someone hit the window with a rock.

She shoved her notebook back into the drawer and walked toward the balcony,

“Kai.”

“Eh? Not feeling so great today?”

Kai guessed her mood like a ghost as soon as he saw her complexion. She was almost touched, but She shook her head as she looked over his shoulder.

[Kai Twilly: Crush 20%]

She’ve never seen a likability rating like that before. Of course, the only other candidates She knew of were Evan and Louise, but even their ratings, which weren’t very high, at least went up and down.

She whined at Kai with a half-give-up look on her face.

‘Wouldn’t it be nice if it was just ……you?’

He comes to see her all the time!

‘Shouldn’t he at least have a 50% likability rating?’

“What do you want me to do?”

Kai’s face, with its gentle smile, shone brightly in the moonlight.

In what year does she move out of the mansion, and in what year does she find a new candidate and make him likeable?

“There is such a thing.”

“You’re cranky today. Tough training?”

Kai grabs her hand with a wistful look. Her palm rested in his smooth palm. she instinctively hid her hands behind her back.

“No!”

She shouted sternly, and Kai’s brow furrowed in disapproval.

“Heal it. Why are you holding it in when it hurts?”

“It doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m just starting to get calluses! It’s all part of the training process! Don’t you know that the more you roll, the harder you get?”

“Ha. Who says such ignorant things?”

‘youtube.’

She swallowed hard to say something he wouldn’t understand.

Kai came to her room every night to try to heal her. On the second day of training, she thought she was going to die when she trained the next day because it was a torn muscle, a blistered hand, and he healed it so quickly. She groaned that night with the same pain as the first time she trained, and she never wanted to go through that horrible pain again.

“Just heal it. I don’t want to see you again.”

“Ella, you shouldn’t say that.”

On the subject of age. Kai placed a palm on my forehead, pretending to admonish her like an adult.

Without warning, he reaches into his bosom and pulls out something.

“Here.”

Give me the bottle, give me the medicine.

What Kai held out in front of her pouting face was a small gift. Inside the rustling paper bag was a brightly colored candy the size of a king drop. Her eyes widened at the sight of the candy, and she asked.

“Where did you get this?”

“You used to love this before you lost your memory, so I remembered and bought it.”

Not “picked it up on the way,” but outright bought it because he remembered.

She felt her heart twist in her chest every time he said something sweet. The likability numbers couldn’t be lying, and if they were, then what Kai was spitting out now was overkill.

“People will misunderstand you if you’re so sweet. Kai needs to be more careful.”

“What?”

“aren’t you making a lot of girls cry outside?”

He teased, and she was about to lean against the railing when Kai turned her around, casting a glance toward the backyard.

“Why do you make such ridiculous assumptions?”

“What?”

“You’re the only one I care about, and you know it.”

The moment she heard those words, her legs stiffened as if she’d been confessed.

A cool breeze swayed between him and her. In the still silence, only his blue-green hair blew in the wind, and his innocent face reflected in her wavering red eyes.

“You almost fooled me again.”

She snapped back to reality. His likability hadn’t changed since he’d spat out the “only you” comment.

“Forget it. I’ll find another candidate faster than you.”

“Candidate?”

She said, simply ignoring Kai’s question.

“Kai. Your magic, you said you could easily get over a barrier, right?”

“Right?”

“I assume that’s how you got over the barrier at my house?”

“Yes.”

He smiled slyly, knowing she had given answer she wanted. Her gaze lingered for a moment on the bag of candy he’d given her.

“Is Street lively right now?”

“Of course it is. Rumanian Street is especially active at night……. Why is that?”

Kai paused as he tried to explain the street to her. Kai’s anxious eyes glanced at her. She smirked in anticipation.

“Come climb the barrier with me.”
