There Are No Bad Military Dogs

Chapter 35

Shin Hae-jun’s hand froze for a moment.

Did he get caught? Holding his breath, he scrutinized Min Ahyeon’s movements. His heart raced erratically. Was there anything more embarrassing than getting caught touching his own penis in front of a subordinate who always looked at him with disdain? Although he broke out in a cold sweat, the organ in his grasp was still hard.

“Hmm.”

Fortunately, Min Ahyeon only stirred in her sleep, without opening her eyes. The quiet sound of her breathing continued, indicating that she had fallen back into a deep slumber.

Haa….”

Exhaling a sigh of relief, Shin Hae-jun blinked his eyes slowly. Then, the image of Min Ahyeon’s tearful face came to his mind. Min Ahyeon, who was so excited, clung to him as if she were going crazy. Min Ahyeon glaring at him, Min Ahyeon struggling with overwhelming sensations, Min Ahyeon expressing anger towards him, Min Ahyeon reaching climax and drooling saliva, Min Ahyeon energetically deciding the order for night watch through rock-paper-scissors, each scene filled his mind.

Trapped between these thoughts of Min Ahyeon, Shin Hae-jun burst into a hollow laughter.

At that moment, he once again yearned for the Min Ahyeon who used to stroke his hair.

Not the Min Ahyeon at climax, not the Min Ahyeon drenched in embarrassment, but the Min Ahyeon who would call him cute. He longed to see her affectionate smile again. The Min Ahyeon who looked at him as if he were adorable.

At that moment, at an unexpected timing, Shin Hae-jun reached his climax.

He wiped his palm discreetly and the viscous semen dripped onto his pants. Such semen didn’t even come to mind when reading a lewd magazine or even imagining embracing Min Ahyeon…. As he recalled Min Ahyeon’s laughter and gaze, the ejaculation burst out of him.

“Haha.”

Even though Shin Hae-jun couldn’t believe it, he burst into fierce laughter as he stared at his hand stained with ejaculation. He clenched the hand soaked in bodily fluids and sighed.

Min Ahyeon looked at him as if he were adorable. When did she ever do that? No, from the beginning, didn’t she simply treat him like a cute puppy and stroke his head?

The expression of looking adorable was something that Shin Hae-jun had fabricated. That’s all it was.

But to be ensnared by such delusions and end up ejaculating…

At this rate, there might not be a more horny bastard than himself.

Ah, truly, he was nothing but trash among trash.

Haahh…”

Rising to his feet, Shin Hae-jun leaned his forehead near the steering wheel. His black hair fell down, covering his sharp-featured face. His lips, still moist and reddened, exhaled a slightly labored breath. Through the tousled strands of hair, he glanced at Min Ahyeon.

“Min Ahyeon.”

A smile had settled at the corner of Shin Hae-jun’s mouth somewhere along the line. He spoke quietly.

“Your brother.”

Initially, he had only tossed out the bait to reel in Ahyeon. He knew how much she cared about her brother, so he figured just mentioning him would drive Min Ahyeon crazy enough to come running. That’s what he thought, so he made the suggestion, and as expected, Min Ahyeon rose to the bait like a fish caught on a hook.

But after several conversations with Ahyeon, after several encounters, and after having sex once, Shin Hae-jun’s feelings had changed somewhat. Whenever he thought he should use her, seeing her made him feel suffocated. Whenever he thought he should make use of her, talking to her left him breathless.

Perhaps he was feeling guilty about her.

“Right… so…”

Shin Hae-jun said, with determination in his voice.

“Let’s really find him.”

It wasn’t just words simply thrown out as bait. Since things had come to this, Shin Hae-jun wanted to find Ahyeon’s brother. No, he had to find him.

“I will.”

“…..”

“I’ll find him for you.”

So… there was one thought trailing behind.

It was related to the appearance of Min Ahyeon, that he wanted to see a little while ago.

But Shin Hae-jun didn’t voice that thought. Instead, he gritted his teeth, suppressing his desire, and swallowed it down hard.

The quietness inside the car was filled only with Min Ahyeon’s steady breathing. Very peacefully.

Ahyeon had a dream.

That dream contained the days when she and her only brother, Woo-joo, lived together before the world became such a mess.

After leaving the research institute, Ahyeon and Woo-joo managed their livelihood in a fortunate boarding house they found. Ahyeon was a high school student, while Woo-joo was about to enter elementary school. With such an age difference, the siblings supported each other day by day.

Then, a ray of hope shone upon them amidst their difficult days. Ahyeon, who had joined the archery club out of the blue, showed astonishing talent and became a youth national representative in less than six months, thanks to the support funds provided by the school.

Finally, they could leave the boarding house and get their small single room. Those were the days.

“Nuna! Look at me!”

In the blink of an eye, it was a winter-spring day when Woo-joo, now a first-grader, stood tall in front of Ahyeon, wearing his school bag and a nametag on his chest. Then, he bowed to Ahyeon.

“Thank you for everything today!”

Woo-joo added.

“You should always say thank you when you’re grateful, Nuna.”

Ahyeon wondered what he was thankful for. She had been in the room the whole time.

“Well, today Nuna woke me up in the morning, made fried eggs for me, oh! Nuna also cooked ham for me! And when I came back from school, Nuna was there, she helped me wash my face, and she even brushed my teeth!”

“I’m grateful for all of that! Thank you, Nuna!”

As the dream faded, Ahyeon’s inner thoughts about Woo-joo started to surface.

Woo-joo was such a bright child. Even though Ahyeon herself sometimes had nightmares and struggled with the past at the research institute, Woo-joo never showed any signs of that. He acted as if he had forgotten that time entirely. Ahyeon had worried that he might have amnesia, but that wasn’t the case. She realized this one early morning.

“Aaaaakh!”

Startled by Woo-joo’s scream, Ahyeon rushed to his room and found him crying bitterly in his sleep.

“I’m sorry, teacher… I’m so sorry…”

“Please, just give me one more chance. Please, please…”

Ah.

That’s when Ahyeon realized.

Woo-joo hadn’t forgotten. He was just pretending to have forgotten. He was enduring the pain every day, not wanting to worry his sister. Even in his dreams, he was being tormented, and yet he was trying to hide it.

Woo-joo.

Ahyeon tightly hugged Woo-joo and whispered,

“Nuna will make you…”

“The happiest child.”

Ahyeon was determined to protect Woo-joo no matter what and make him the happiest child in the world.

But how did it all turn out?

It’s been four years since the outbreak of the infection. Woo-joo is now old enough to graduate from elementary school. Our Woo-joo, who was so looking forward to receiving a bouquet at the graduation ceremony. When will I be able to see that beautiful smile again?

I miss Woo-joo. I want to see him at least once before I die. That’s the reason I’ve been clinging to life this whole time—to see Woo-joo one more time, just once.

“Your brother.”

“I’ll find him for you.”

Shin Hae-jun’s words echo. Really? Can you really find my brother for me? How can you be so sure?

She wanted to say she couldn’t trust someone like him. She wanted to cry out, “How can I trust a coward like you, Shin Hae-jun?” But she didn’t. She couldn’t… It was because, without Ahyeon realizing it, a flame of hope had ignited within her heart.

After searching for Woo-joo for four years without any success, it felt like a new path had opened up before Ahyeon.

So Ahyeon took Shin Hae-jun’s hand. Regardless of whether she believed in him or not, she wanted to. She felt like she needed to trust him for this hope to remain alive. Believe. Believe in him and find Woo-joo. That’s how Ahyeon allowed him to accompany her.

And if I find Woo-joo someday…

‘I’ll tell him.’

About the kind person who helped me find him.

With that hope in mind, Ahyeon placed Shin Hae-jun beside the Woo-joo she had only drawn in her heart and drifted back into sleep. Even if it was a dream she wouldn’t remember the next day, it was okay.
