The Whole World Knows That the Crown Prince Loves Her

Ming Zhao had taken a gamble by calling Huang Quan for treatment, but he never anticipated her extraordinary skills. In less than half an hour, she managed to awaken Nangong Mian, who had been on the brink of death.

If the treatment had taken longer, or if Nangong Mian had woken up weaker, Ming Zhao wouldn’t have been as shocked. To make things even more surprising, Nangong Mian quickly donned his clothes, concealing the fact that all his injuries had miraculously healed.

“I’m amazed at how shocking it is to see someone wake up like that. I wonder how surprised I would have been if I had seen those wounds heal,” Ming Zhao mused to himself.

Nangong Mian, in a gesture of gratitude, addressed the teacher, “Teacher, I apologize for causing you trouble this time.”

Ming Zhao shook his head, a deep sigh escaping him. “The mistake was ours. When I assigned you to this mission, I assured you it was safe. I never expected something like this to happen.”

Nangong Mian, despite having lost half of his life in the process, harbored no resentment. “I don’t blame you. No one could have foreseen the appearance of level 10 spirit beasts on the outskirts of the territory.”

Level 10 spirit beasts were typically found deep within the mountains, and their appearance on the outskirts was extremely rare. Consequently, the teachers had not accompanied Nangong Mian and his companions on their training mission. This lack of supervision left them vulnerable when the level 10 spirit beast appeared. Nangong Mian, in a desperate effort to protect his fellow students, fought the formidable creature alone and sustained grave injuries.

“Injuries are part and parcel of training,” Huang Quan remarked calmly. “Teacher MingZhao, there’s no need to dwell on my brother’s injuries. What concerns me is the poisoning incident.”

Ming Zhao sighed and looked at Huang Quan, admitting, “This will be a challenging investigation.”

“When I and several other teachers arrived, Nangong Mian was on the verge of death due to the spirit beast attack. Four other teachers and I engaged the spirit beast while the students managed to rescue Nangong Mian,” Ming Zhao explained.

“Many students had contact with your brother during the rescue, so it won’t be easy to identify the one who poisoned him,” he continued.

“It won’t be easy,” Huang Quan replied, her voice cold and resolute. “But I will definitely find the person responsible for poisoning him. They tried to take my brother’s life; I won’t let them go easily.”

Seeing Huang Quan’s unwavering determination, Ming Zhao ceased his attempts to dissuade her and shifted his focus. “Young lady, do you know what kind of poison was used?”

“If we know the type of poison, we can narrow down our search.”

Huang Quan did not hesitate and truthfully revealed the details of the poison that had affected Nangong Mian to Ming Zhao.

Ming Zhao pondered the information and realized that the poison that had nearly killed Nangong Mian was not an ordinary one. It was unfamiliar to him.

“Did anyone else who was poisoned experience any symptoms? The most common symptom is usually diarrhea, and it might lead us to the alchemist school at the college or the apothecaries in the city,” Ming Zhao inquired.

Huang Quan considered the situation and responded, “I’ll handle that part. You are a teacher, and there are numerous individuals involved in this matter, including students with high cultivation levels. Additionally, the poison has already been removed from my brother’s body, leaving no concrete evidence. The poisoner is unlikely to confess. If you get involved in the investigation, it may provoke discontent among other teachers, not to mention…”

Ming Zhao’s curiosity was piqued, sensing that Huang Quan was about to address the crux of the matter.

“Furthermore, if the college discovers the culprit, they will handle it according to their own methods, which might not align with my intentions,” Huang Quan explained slowly. “If the college investigates, they might spare the person’s life, but if I investigate, I might not be so forgiving.”
