The dean responded, “Your Highness, there’s no need for that.”
He continued, “I understand your desire to clear the way for Miss Nangong, but certain matters are best dealt with personally.”
“I’m aware,” Ye Qin replied calmly. “That’s why I have no plans to send anyone for interception.”
The dean remained puzzled, and Ye Qin added, “I came to inform you that I’ll be leaving in a few days. If Quanquan decides to leave the academy during that time, there’s no need to assign someone to follow her. She prefers not to have someone tailing her.”
The dean had previously sent someone to watch over her, as requested by Ming Zhao, who was in turn requested by Nangong Mian. However, the dean trusted Ye Qin’s judgment and believed that with Huang Quan’s abilities, she could handle herself. He agreed, saying, “Understood.”
Ye Qin departed, leaving the dean to sigh quietly, realizing that the prince had grown quite fond of the Nangong family’s young lady.
Later, after dinner, Huang Quan reached for the dishes to help with cleaning, but she was stopped by Ye Qin, who insisted, “I’ll handle it.”
Huang Quan questioned, “You cook, and I wash the dishes. What’s wrong with that?”
Ye Qin declined her offer, saying, “I’ve already taken care of everything.”
Huang Quan chuckled and commented, “You’re pampering me like this. I feel like a waste.”
Ye Qin countered, “It doesn’t matter.'”
Huang Quan objected, “Why doesn’t it matter?”
She playfully held her cheeks with both hands and wore a sweet smile, saying, ” But if you spoil me and turn me into a ‘waste,’ then definitely nobody will want me.”
“I want it,” Ye Qin replied, then promptly left with the plate.
Huang Quan called after him, “Qinqin, come back quickly, and I’ll perform a magic trick for you.”
Ye Qin paused for a moment, then hurried back.
Huang Quan watched him depart until he was out of sight, then dashed into the house. Upon his return, she held the Boneflower she had bought during the day.
Under the silver moonlight, the cold silver radiance bathed the crystal box, making it shine even more brilliantly, while the flowers within it looked more vibrant and beautiful.
Huang Quan couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
Originally, she had intended to let it grow before using it for medicine, but Ye Qin had been so kind to her that she wanted to perform a magic trick for him.
A little while later, Ye Qin returned.
Seeing the Boneflower in front of Huang Quan, he asked, “Are you going to make elixir?”
“Yes,” Huang Quan nodded and smiled. “But it needs to grow before we make the elixir.”
Huang Quan instructed, “Qinqin, have a seat. The upcoming scene is very beautiful.”
Ye Qin followed her instructions, took a seat, and watched as she opened the crystal box. She gently waved her hand over the Boneflower, and the Boneflower was enveloped by a soft green light and lifted out of the box.
Small green lights held the Boneflower before Huang Quan. She placed her hands on either side of the Boneflower, and countless green specks of light flew out from her palms, dancing around the Boneflower.
These specks of light scattered throughout the dark night, resembling fireflies by a stream or in a forest, illuminating the entire courtyard with their graceful dance. The yard was filled with vibrant vitality.
Grass, trees, flowers, and withered branches seemed to come to life at this moment. The grass and trees grew, flowers blossomed, and dried branches sprouted buds, as life flourished throughout the area.
