Huang Quan smiled and said, “That’s okay.”
Ye Qin escorted the two of them out of the mansion, where a carriage awaited them.
“I appreciate your hospitality these days,” Nangong Mian expressed gratitude to Ye Qin. “We will contact you after the game is over.”
“Yes,” Ye Qin nodded. “Brother, do your best.”
“Of course,” Nangong Mian agreed, getting onto the carriage.
“Let’s go,” Huang Quan urged.
Ye Qin looked at her and spoke gently, “Quanquan, do your best.”
Huang Quan smiled and asked, “Will you come to my game?”
“I will,” Ye Qin replied with a smile. “But due to certain reasons, I can’t physically be present.”
“No matter, just watch,” Huang Quan said confidently. “I will take first place.”
“I believe in you.”
With that, Huang Quan boarded the carriage. After Yong Zhou, the masked man, had arranged everything, he informed them of the destination. The carriage carrying Huang Quan and Nangong Mian gradually moved away.
As the wheels traversed the bluestone road, the carriage went farther and farther. Ye Qin stood there, watching until the carriage vanished from sight. Only then did he return to the house.
“Master,” Yong Zhou, the masked man, appeared behind Ye Qin and said respectfully. “The high priest invites you to meet in the priest’s hall.”
“I understand,” Ye Qin acknowledged. He then turned to Yong Zhou and inquired, “Have you found any clues about the matter?”
Yong Zhou, under the mask, raised the corners of his lips slightly. He responded, “Master, we have discovered something quite interesting.”
“Oh?” Ye Qin raised his eyebrows. “Tell me.”
“The young master who left the Nangong family went to the Tianhuang Kingdom,” Yong Zhou explained. “Nangong Mian’s appearance closely resembles that of the young master.”
Ye Qin curled his lips and smiled, inquiring, “Does Quanquan resemble him?”
“No,” replied Yong Zhou. “Miss Huangquan takes after her mother. The Nangong family incident was quite unpleasant. Not many people are aware of the mysterious woman involved. I initially approached a few individuals, but they were unwilling to disclose anything. After some coercion, they mentioned she was an extraordinarily beautiful woman.”
Ye Qin inquired further, “Is there a portrait?”
“No,” Yong Zhou frowned. “That’s the strange part.”
“I asked around. Those who encountered her described her as stunningly beautiful, but when pressed to recall her appearance, no one could provide a clear description,”
Ye Qin pondered. “What’s the specific situation?”
“They know she’s exceptionally beautiful, but their memory of her appearance is hazy, making it impossible to describe,” Yong Zhou explained.
“I find it suspicious,” remarked Yong Zhou. “They can see her true appearance, yet the memory is elusive, as if under some sort of enchantment.”
“It’s not that complicated,” Ye Qin chuckled. “It’s just a form of concealment magic.”
“If that’s the case, determining whether Miss Huangquan is a Nangong family member becomes challenging,” remarked Yong Zhou.
“It doesn’t matter,” Ye Qin reassured. “Isn’t the Nangong family’s recognized young lady also at the Imperial College? During the competition, members of the Nangong family will be present. If Quanquan is truly one of them, they’ll recognize it.”
Yong Zhou pondered this and said, “Master, if Miss Huang Quan is the Nangong family’s young lady, does that mean the one recognized by the family is an imposter?”
