Chapter 328: Lost Memories Cannot Be Recovered
Huang Quan shook her head. “Third Brother, I’m fine. The situation was chaotic at the time. You got injured and absorbed too much death energy, which caused some memory issues.”
“Fortunately, I used the life spirit energy to heal you in time, so you didn’t lose too much memory, but the memories that have already been lost cannot be recovered.”
Nangong Min was quite confused.
Huang Quan continued, “But it’s not too bad. You only lost some memories about coming to the city and what happened afterward. Your past memories are intact.”
Hearing this, Nangong Min sighed in relief. “That’s good.”
At least only a little memory was lost. Other than some discomfort, there were no other issues. Losing any more memories would have been much worse.
However…
Nangong Min looked at Huang Quan and asked, “Quan Quan, what kind of danger did you encounter?”
Huang Quan detailed the situation with the skeleton to Nangong Min.
After hearing the story, Nangong Min was first concerned but, once assured that the injuries were healed and the skeleton was dealt with, he felt relieved and remarked, “It seems that not only Eldest Brother and Second Brother have spiritual connections.”
“We do as well.”
Though Huang Quan was aware that only Nangong Min and the Grand Priest had such connections, she felt uncomfortable admitting that.
“Mm,” Huang Quan nodded.
“Oh!” Nangong Min suddenly remembered. “I sensed that you were in trouble. In that situation, I must have left without informing my teacher.”
That was indeed the case…
Huang Quan looked at Nangong Min and said, “Third Brother, don’t worry. Rest for now. Later, we will take you to explain the situation to the teacher.”
Nangong Min sighed in relief.
“Lord Xiaoyun has prepared a meal,” the Grand Priest said as he walked in. Seeing that Nangong Min was awake, he stared at him for a while before shifting his gaze. “Let’s go eat.”
Huang Quan looked at the Grand Priest and asked silently if he had spoken with Jing Chen and Feng Jiuyuan.
The Grand Priest nodded in affirmation.
“Good,” Huang Quan said with relief. “We’ll head out now.”
“Mm,” the Grand Priest nodded and then turned to leave the courtyard.
After the Grand Priest left, Huang Quan turned to Nangong Min. “Third Brother, we’ll wait for you outside the courtyard. Take your time with washing up and come out when you’re ready.”
“Okay,” Nangong Min nodded.
Seeing this, Huang Quan left the room.
As soon as she was outside, Huang Quan gathered the three people in the courtyard and asked the Grand Priest to set up a soundproof barrier. She then repeated to them what she had told Nangong Min.
After finishing, Huang Quan looked at the three and said, “If Third Brother asks, you must stick to this story. Make sure not to make any mistakes.” Such matters are difficult to fix if they go wrong.
The three nodded in agreement, indicating they understood.
Huang Quan turned to the Grand Priest. “Grand Priest, you go ahead. I’ll wait for Third Brother to come out before following. Once you’re there, tell Lord Xiaoyun not to mention what happened last night to avoid raising suspicion.”
“Understood.” The Grand Priest responded and then removed the barrier before leaving.
Feng Jiuyuan, standing beside Huang Quan, looked at her and said, “Huang Quan, once a lie starts, it never stops. We’ve already deceived Nangong Min once regarding the ruins. Now we’re doing it again. If similar situations arise, we’ll have to keep lying. But we can’t deceive him forever. Sooner or later, he will discover the truth.”
Jing Chen remained silent.
He agreed with Feng Jiuyuan but also understood Huang Quan’s intentions.
Huang Quan’s aim was simply to keep Nangong Min happy and carefree, without any ulterior motives. She hoped that by hiding the truth, Nangong Min would remain in good spirits.
Chapter 329: The Man Appears?
The current situation was not a long-term solution; Nangong Min would find out sooner or later.
Huang Quan said, “It won’t be long.”
“There are too many issues right now. My plan is simple: resolve some matters and then gradually inform Third Brother.”
Feng Jiuyuan looked at Huang Quan and asked, “What do you plan to resolve next?”
“Brother’s issue,” Huang Quan replied, looking up at the sky. “Wait for three more days.”
“If there are no clues within three days, I’ll use other methods to find them.”
“Other methods?” Feng Jiuyuan was about to ask why she wasn’t using them now but realized it must involve a significant cost, which was why Huang Quan hadn’t used them yet.
The group didn’t discuss it further. After waiting outside for a while, Nangong Min came out.
Once Nangong Min joined them, they headed to the main hall.
Lord Xiaoyun had prepared a lavish feast, and the dishes were quite appetizing. During the meal, as the Grand Priest had instructed, Lord Xiaoyun didn’t mention the events of the previous night.
After the meal, the Grand Priest and Lord Xiaoyun said their goodbyes, and then they left with Huang Quan and the others.
Having resolved matters in Xiaoyun City, they were ready to return to the Imperial Capital.
Huang Quan was lying on Bai Luan’s back, planning to rest her eyes when her communication stone suddenly began to glow.
Noticing the glowing stone, Huang Quan quickly channeled her energy into it.
As the energy entered the stone, its light stabilized, and a deep, pleasant voice came through: “Quan Quan, have you handled things in Xiaoyun City?”
Huang Quan responded, “Yes, it’s all taken care of. We’re on our way back to the Imperial Capital.”
Di Qin replied, “I’m in the Imperial Capital.”
Huang Quan smiled and asked, “Have you finished your tasks?”
“Yes,” Di Qin confirmed. “Quan Quan, have the Grand Priest take you to the residence first. Don’t return to the Imperial Academy just yet. Yong Zhou has news.”
Yong Zhou was the one sent to keep an eye on Nangong Qingyue.
Huang Quan asked, “Has that man appeared?”
“Yes,” Di Qin replied. “He met with Nangong Qingyue. After Yong Zhou saw him, he followed and is continuing to monitor him.”
“Quan Quan, this is a chance to catch that man.”
Huang Quan immediately said, “Wait for me!”
“Alright,” Di Qin replied, and after exchanging a few more words, he ended the communication.
Once the connection was cut, Huang Quan turned to the Grand Priest and asked, “Do you still have a Qing Luan?”
“Yes, Qing Luan is faster. Let’s switch to Qing Luan.”
Understanding Huang Quan’s urgency to catch the man, the Grand Priest nodded and summoned Qing Luan.
The four of them transferred from Bai Luan’s back to Qing Luan’s. The Grand Priest recalled Bai Luan, and they took off towards the Imperial Capital on Qing Luan.
Qing Luan was faster than Huang Quan had anticipated. They flew directly to the residence they had stayed in before, without any stops.
Upon arrival at the residence, Huang Quan quickly dismounted from Qing Luan and ran inside, followed by the others.
Di Qin was already in the courtyard. Seeing Huang Quan enter, a smile appeared on his otherwise cold face: “Quan Quan.”
After more than half a month, Huang Quan was also pleased to see Di Qin, but she had more pressing matters to attend to and couldn’t delay.
End of chapter.
