Chapter 276
Along with Yongye, Nangong Qiu had also arrived.
As Huang Quan and Nangong Mian came out of the courtyard, they saw Nangong Qiu waiting for them.
Nangong Qiu immediately approached them upon seeing the two.
Nangong Mian, who disliked people from the Nangong family, lost his smile upon seeing Nangong Qiu and asked, “What are you doing here?”
Nangong Qiu replied, “I heard you’re heading back to Tianhuang, so I came to see you off.”
“No need for that,” Nangong Mian said, glancing at Yongye. “We have someone to see us off.”
Nangong Mian was aware that they had a prince escorting them.
Nangong Qiu’s presence was merely to see them off.
“I left Nangong Qingyue behind as bait, so I need your cooperation,” Huang Quan said to Nangong Qiu. “Once things are sorted in Tianhuang, my brother and I will come to find Nangong Qingyue.”
Nangong Qiu responded, “Quan Quan, I know you’ll come back. I just…”
Seeing that Nangong Mian and Huang Quan didn’t acknowledge him as their uncle, Nangong Qiu decided not to say more.
“I just wanted to see you. Now that I have, I won’t delay you any further,” Nangong Qiu said. “Have a good trip.”
“Thanks,” Huang Quan and Nangong Mian replied, then boarded the carriage.
Once they were inside, Yongye drove off.
The six-winged snow lions pulled the carriage into the sky, heading towards the distance, and quickly disappeared from Nangong Qiu’s view.
Inside the carriage, Nangong Mian sat by the window, looking out.
His good mood returned after seeing Nangong Qiu leave.
“Quan Quan,” Nangong Mian said, turning to her. “When we came here, we used the Xuan Beast White-winged Horse, which took a day. On the way back, we’re using the Sacred Beast Six-winged Snow Lion, so we should arrive in a day, right?”
Xuan Beasts are faster than Spirit Beasts, but Sacred Beasts are even faster.
Just as Huang Quan was about to answer, Yongye’s voice came from outside: “Young Master Nangong, using the Six-winged Snow Lion to reach Tianhuang takes just one hour.”
One hour, fourteen hours, a little over half a day.
“That’s fast,” Nangong Mian said.
Yongye smiled, “Indeed, it is. After I drop you off, I’ll wait for you there and then bring you back.”
Hearing this, Nangong Mian asked, “Is this what Emperor Qinqin instructed?”
Yongye replied, “Indeed, it was the master’s instructions.”
Upon hearing this, Nangong Mian sighed inwardly.
At this rate, he would soon have a brother-in-law.
But since Emperor Qinqin treated Quan Quan well, and Quan Quan liked Qinqin, with mutual affection, it was a good thing.
An hour later, the carriage stopped at Tianhuang Academy.
It was already close to dusk. Huang Quan and Nangong Mian got out of the carriage, planning to head directly to their residence and visit the dean the next day. However, before they could leave, they were surrounded by students who had been waiting for them.
Nangong Mian and Huang Quan were taken aback. Before they could understand the situation, the students shouted, “Huang Quan, you’re the best!”
“You’re the hope of our Tianhuang Academy, having won first place in the joint academy competition!”
“You’ve brought honor to our academy!”
“We don’t know what to say, just that you’re amazing!”
Huang Quan: “…”
It had already been a month since the competition ended.
“Little girl!”
The dean, along with a few teachers, came over. Smiling at Huang Quan and Nangong Mian, he said, “You’re finally back.”
Huang Quan looked at him and asked, “Dean, did you call everyone here?”
There was no need to specially arrange a reception for her. She really didn’t require it.
Chapter 277
The dean smiled particularly happily and said, “I didn’t call them here; they came specially to wait for you because they knew you were coming back today.”
Before Huang Quan could ask how they knew, the dean continued, “You left on the Flying Winged Snow Lion. The Tianqi Empire received the news and guessed that you were returning to Tianhuang. They contacted me and informed me.”
“You secured first place for our Tianhuang Academy, and the Imperial Academy gave us some resources. These resources will be distributed to different areas within the academy for everyone’s cultivation. So, I informed the other teachers about your return. They then told the students, who came to express their gratitude for the increased resources.”
“There’s no need to be polite. Just focus on your cultivation,” Huang Quan said. “Dean, let’s talk in your courtyard.”
“Alright,” the dean agreed, then turned to Yongye. “You…”
“I’ll stay in the courtyard where they previously resided,” Yongye said.
The dean nodded and said no more, leading Huang Quan and Nangong Mian to his courtyard.
The other students followed along. With Tianhuang Academy having secured first place in the recent competition, everyone was extremely excited and admired Huang Quan greatly.
Seeing such enthusiastic admiration, Huang Quan, though reserved, did not show her cold side and answered the students’ questions.
Thus, the conversation between the dean and Huang Quan was interrupted by the students’ questions throughout the way.
This continued until they reached the courtyard where the teachers worked.
“Ah…”
Once inside the courtyard, away from the students’ excited voices, the dean remarked with a smile, “Those little rascals were too excited.”
“It was quite noisy, but now it’s finally quiet.”
Although it seemed like he was complaining about the students, he was actually very pleased. With Tianhuang Academy securing first place, the students were thrilled and more proactive in their classes and cultivation recently.
“It’s not noisy,” Huang Quan simply replied.
The dean smiled, then led them along with a few teachers into a room.
The dean and Ming Chao had already known that Huang Quan and Nangong Mian would be heading to the Tianqi Empire, so after Huang Quan and Nangong Mian sat down, the dean addressed them, saying, “You’re very impressive. I’m not worried about you with the students from the Imperial Academy. They’re no match for you.”
The dean then turned to Nangong Mian, “Mian, your cultivation is very high in Tianhuang Academy, but it’s still weaker compared to the students from the Imperial Academy. Once you get to the Imperial Academy, make sure to cultivate diligently.”
Nangong Mian nodded, “Don’t worry, Dean. I will.”
After conveying these final words, the dean and Ming Chao went over everything once more, then had no more to say. Although reluctant, they couldn’t keep them from leaving.
The Imperial Academy was even better than Tianhuang Academy, and it would allow them to go further and reach greater heights.
After chatting with the dean and a few teachers for a while and receiving some rewards, the dean and the teachers finally let them go.
Ming Chao accompanied them for a while, and said, “A Mian, you’ll leave after dealing with the Nangong family’s matters?”
“Yeah,” Nangong Mian nodded.
Ming Chao said, “Let us know before you leave.”
“Definitely.”
Ming Chao escorted them part of the way before saying goodbye and watching them leave.
As Nangong Mian walked back to thye small courtyard, he murmured, “It’s hard to leave just like this. I really feel a bit reluctant.”
