The Way That Knight Lives As A Lady

Chapter 2: The Lady Had a Fiancé Part 1

Lucifela. Lucifela Aydin.

She, or rather, the given name of this body.

The only daughter of Count Louise Aydin, a nobleman of the Jansgar Empire. A 20-year-old woman who lost her mother at the age of nine and lived alone with her father.

She looked at her unfamiliar face in the mirror. Her height had decreased, and her gray hair, which had been cut short and crooked, was now long, coveting black hair. Both of her eyes had turned silver-blue, like a snowy winter sky.

If Estelle knew about this woman, she would think of her as just another pretty-faced aristocratic woman.

Oh, her face is pretty, so it might stay in my memory for quite a while.

Her body was thin, and the chest, which was a symbol of a petite woman, was also full, and the waist was thin as well.

In other words, it was an untrained body.

She was a lady who had never properly wielded a sword, and without the sword she received from the King of Ersha.

The doctor examined her, who had become a different person, and diagnosed that she was in a state of shock and temporarily confused in her memory.

It was inevitable. Even if the priest were to come, there would be no one to explain her symptoms.

Loss of memory was a convenient excuse even though the person had changed.

The original owner of this body seemed to have had a great personality, and the maids treated Estelle with excessive respect. For instance, when she asked for a “history book,” it was promptly delivered to her.

Estelle now realized that she had become a certain young lady and had no qualms about using her title. It was simply in her nature.

She picked up a history book about the Jansgar Empire and opened it. Turning to the section on the fallen Kingdom of Ersha, she began to read the page.

—The Jansgar army led by Emperor Baidu swept through Ersha like a blade. All the nobles of Ersha knelt before the forces of the Jansgar Empire.

She frowned, wondering where those who ran away like scared dogs after losing to her were.

—The Knights of Ersha resisted, especially the resistance of the 3rd Knights, known as the Knights of Sitora was the fiercest of all the Knights.

Estelle Schubert, the Commander of the Knights of Sitora, was very ferocious, holding a sword and ascending to the position of commander, even though she was a woman.

The people of the Ersha kingdom called her Ishtar, ‘The Morning Star’.

However, in a battle where defeat was certain, and in her drunken state of victory, she stubbornly insisted on fighting against overwhelming odds, exhibiting her characteristic irrationality as a woman. As a result, she was killed by a subordinate who could not bear it.

Their subordinates held out her neck and surrendered to Jansgar, opening the castle gates.

And that day was the last day of the Kingdom of Ersha.

She bit her lip and threw the book, startling the maid who had been watching her cautiously. The maid screamed in surprise as Estelle’s face turned bright red with anger.

“My Lady, if you breathe like that, you will faint again!”

Just as the maid had warned, Estelle’s breathing quickened and her vision became blurry. She felt a fever rising on her forehead. If she had a sword at that moment, she would have grabbed it and gone straight for the throat of the author of that book.

What do you mean by ‘women’s irrational decision’?

We all swore to protect the kingdom. Even if we were to die and become stars in the sky embraced by the Goddess Astra, we wanted to show Ersha’s pride until the very end. We knew from the beginning that we would lose. But knights who protect their country want to protect their country. Is that supposed to be called an irrational decision!

However, at the same time, she felt her heart sink. She confirmed that Estelle existed and was already dead. The Jansgar army must have confirmed her death by seeing her neck. She was betrayed by Khalid. Even when she made the decision for the final war, she never doubted that her subordinates would follow her. But it was her subordinates who exposed her neck.

“Why…..”

Tears welled up in her eyes, but she tried to hold them back and opened her eyes wide. She trembled at the cruel truth that was too hard to believe. The maid called for the doctor in desperation again.

Estelle eventually started to feel nauseous. She had never once resented the Goddess until the day she died. But for the first time, she resented Astra. It would have been better to die and be done with it than to witness such a sight.

“We will be stars in the night sky.”

Estelle was smiling brightly. Her short ash-blonde hair, cut close to her head, shone like starlight in the moonlight. It was a moment just before the battle, with dark clouds looming over the battlefield.

“If I become a star, I still want to be next to the Commander. The person who would tell me to go into the Milky Way even if I became a star.”

Upon hearing his words, Estelle turned around to face a man who was standing in a crooked posture. He was talking about the winter training from last year and how it was still terrible for him.

“Do you want to die in that river over there before going into the Milky Way, Liam?”

Estelle pointed her sword at him and spoke. The man’s face turned pale as he desperately shook his head, but he still grumbled with wounded pride.

“Ugh, what kind of Commander say such a thing! Only wandering swordsmen talk like that.”

“If you say one more word, I’ll kill you in place of Commander.”

A blonde woman raised her sword and spoke fiercely. Then, she turned her head and looked at Estelle, smiling. Estelle also lifted the corners of her mouth.

She turned her head to look at the people standing behind her. They were all her followers— members of the Shitora Knights, her trusted subordinates and colleagues, and soldiers fighting for Ersha. Their eyes were filled with trust and united under one goal. With them, she was not afraid of death.

Then someone put a hand on her shoulder. It was Khalid, who had been standing next to her. He smiled softly as always. She overlapped her hand on his and nodded her head.

“I’m not good at saying fancy words. And you all look like you’re ready to fight, so I’ll just say one thing and be done with it.”

Turning her head back to the front, she raised her sword high. Her golden sword, received from the King of Ersha, glimmered.

Before the battle began, she stood tall on a hill, riding a white horse under the night sky. She was like a star, shining bright in the night sky.

She shouted out loud.

“For Ersha!”

Whooooooo!

A scream echoed through the ground. Then Estelle took the lead at the forefront. It was her first battle with Jansgar. Kalid followed by her side.

Estelle and Kalid smiled at each other and then gazed solemnly at the approaching enemy soldiers. The clash of swords rang out.

There was no room for carelessness at this crossroads of life and death. With her almost magical sword, Estelle cut down the enemy soldiers’ necks, and she fought fiercely. In that intense battlefield, Estelle was alive.

“God, please don’t take my daughter. I’d rather You to take me.”

Estelle opened her eyes while listening to the Count’s words. Until a little while ago, she was on the battlefield. Where am I now?

There was a light confusion of memory, but she reminded herself that she was now in the body of some noblewoman in Jansgar.

If she had died in that state without thinking about betrayal, she wouldn’t have felt this kind of emotion. She still remembered the sparkling eyes of everyone and the trusting smile of Khalid. He was still beautiful, warm, and strong in her dreams, which made her heart ache even more. Since she heard the news of Ersha, she had been fasting for three days.

She had lost the will to live and even though she knew that the goddess had given her a new life, she resented it. As a knight who had lost her country and was betrayed by her comrades, she felt she didn’t deserve to live. She thought it would be better to just die, even if her life was given back to her.

“Please, please, don’t take my daughter away. God, please.”

When she was young, she had no father, and when she reached a certain age, she left her behind. So she survived in the alleys. Thus, she never felt the warmth of an adult’s affection even once.

“Lucy, please don’t abandon your father.”

It’s Jansgar. A nobleman of the enemy. As she repeated that to herself, she felt guilty for some reason when she looked at the Count.

Even now, it’s the same.

The reason she had lost consciousness just now was simply because she hadn’t eaten anything. Estelle had given up her will to live.

Why is this man crying like that, even though we’re just connected by blood? He was giving too much endless affection so naturally.

Is a father that kind of existence? However, Khalid’s father was also not in a close relationship with Khalid.

Duke Ilkay, who was Khalid’s father, was a man who was crazy about the sword, and they were just lived together in the same house.

Thit person is peculiar. He loves his daughter, the owner of his flesh and blood

“Lucifela, please…”

  1. Wuwu I wish I also had a dad like that. Hopefully she doesn’t kill herself, it would make this a pretty short story.
