The Villainess’ Kindergarten

CHAPTER 044: Tea Party 3

It was the day after the tea party.

As usual, I was reading a book while rolling around in my room, but suddenly I heard a knock and looked up from my book.

Baridas was also working, so no one was coming, but was it Leita or Afile? Since I had become quite close with them during the tea party yesterday, I thought they must have come to visit.

“Would you please open the door?”

At my words, the maid standing next to me ran and opened the door.

Since I was already fully dressed up, there was no problem in welcoming the guests right away. However, the guests who entered the room were unexpected.

Lilian and Rayan, wearing matching red overalls, came into the room one after another. They greeted me formally, and I greeted them in return, then opened my mouth.

“What’s going on?”

Lilian turned her head away and opened her mouth.

“I didn’t come here because I wanted to see the princess. I came because my brother asked me to come with him.”

However, contrary to her words, both of her cheeks were flushed red.

In other words, she came to see me.

I burst out laughing at her lie that was so obvious. But she’s cute anyway.

“Yeah, yeah.”

After answering her, I looked back at Rayan. Just like Lilian, his cheeks were flushed red, and he hesitated before reaching out to me and shouting loudly.

“Would you like to have a tea party with me?”

A tea party, oh. Rayan wanted to attend the tea party yesterday too.

I nodded after reaching that conclusion on my own. I had nothing to do anyway, and reading books was boring.

“Yeah, tea parties are good.”

When I answered while holding Rayan’s hand, he smiled brightly. When I reached out to Lilian, she looked up at me.

I smiled because she was so cute.

“Do you want to play with us, Lilian?”

“If you say so, I’ll go with you.”

Lilian said and grabbed my hand with a cold expression.

In contrast, Rayan seemed to be a little upset about going with Lilian, but his expression was slightly distorted.

“So where should we go?”

Lilian opened her mouth with a triumphant expression at my question.

“I’ll lend you my garden in particular.”

“Oh my, thank you.”

Lilian’s lips turned up even higher at my answer, and Rayan’s expression hardened even more.

Lilian looked back at Rayan and smiled, then grabbed my hand with a very playful expression.

“I’d like macarons and sandwiches for dessert. Is there anything else you’d like to eat?”

Lilian opened her mouth while having her maid prepare the dessert. I laughed at her cute appearance of pretending not to like it, but then getting ready in earnest, and I hesitated for a moment before opening my mouth.

“Then, can I ask for a madeleine?”

“Not bad.”

The moment Lilian told her maid to prepare tea that would go well with madeleines, Rayan shouted.

“I like scones and apple pie!”

Lilian sighed at his appearance and shook her head as she opened her mouth.

“As you want.”

It was a significantly different reaction than when I had said it. Was this a real sibling?

I held back a laugh because the two bickering looked cute.

Roses were in full bloom in Lilian’s garden, and yellow and blue roses were in full bloom, giving off a mysterious atmosphere. It was the first time I had seen blue roses, and when I looked at them curiously, Lilian smiled proudly and opened her mouth.

“They’re pretty! They’re the roses that they started selling at the top recently.”

“Yeah, they’re pretty.”

“You really have an eye for it.”

At that moment, Rayan opened his mouth bluntly.

“All roses are the same.”

At Rayan’s words, Lilian snickered and opened her mouth.

“That’s why you’re not popular.”

“I’m nine years old…?”

“The crown prince of the neighboring country already has three future princesses.”

Rayan, who was dumbfounded by her words, shouted.

“What does that have to do with me!!!”

Lilian shook her head again and patted Rayan on the shoulder.

“If this keeps up, the next crown prince might be my son.”

“Oh, come on!!”

At the sight of the two, I couldn’t help but laugh.

When I started laughing so hard I almost choked, the two children stopped fighting and turned to look at me.

Feeling the children’s gazes, I stopped laughing and coughed twice in embarrassment.

“Sorry, you’re cute.”

Rayan’s face turned red at my words and she didn’t know what to do, and Lilian said with a confident smile.

“I know.”

I burst out laughing at her attitude and patted Lilian’s head.

In the meantime, the desserts that the kids and I had requested were prepared in the garden.

Including Rayan’s apple pie and scones. As expected, they’re on good terms even though they’re so noisy.

When I tried to sit down, Rayan pulled out my chair for me, as if he had learned it somewhere. Lilian made a face that said, ‘I’ve seen all sorts of things.’

“Thank you.”

Not noticing his expression, I patted Rayan’s head and thanked him.

Rayan’s face turned red at that, and Lilian sighed when she saw it.

I sat down on the chair and sipped my tea, and the sweet and strong scent filled my mouth.

When I lived on Earth, I didn’t know tea could taste this good, but as I drank it, it suited my taste better than I thought. Is it because the tea I drink is expensive?

At that time, Lilian, who was savoring tea like me, opened her mouth.

“Princess, but when are you two going to get married?”

“Wouldn’t it be next year?”

Actually, I don’t know either. When the time comes, I’ll figure it out.

Lilian answered, “I see,” and after thinking for a moment, opened her mouth.

“Then your child will be the next successor?”

“…I guess so.”

I answered that for now, but it left a bitter aftertaste because I felt like I lied in front of the children. It was unimaginable that I would have a child with Baridas.

Suddenly, I felt drained and in a bad mood. I didn’t know why.,As I absentmindedly moved my hand to the madeleine, Lilian opened her mouth.

“But, how will the child be born?”

Rayan, who had been eating apple pie without saying a word to her, confidently opened her mouth.

“Idiot, the swan brought it to you.”

No, she’s telling lies like that here too. I let out a small laugh at Rayan’s innocent reaction.

I felt a little better at the children’s innocence.

Lilian nodded, perhaps thinking that her words suited his confident attitude, and opened her mouth.

“Then, Princess, please tell the swan to bring you a man.”

However, my eyes widened at Lilian’s unexpected words that followed.

“Why?”

“I like younger people. If they want to marry me, they have to be at least the son of a duke.”

Lilian smiled her characteristically fresh and confident smile as she said this.

In the end, I couldn’t hold back my laughter at Lilian’s words and nodded my head with a smirk.

“I’ll try.”

Lilian added with a bright smile at my words.

“If he looks like the two of you, he can’t be ugly, so don’t educate him like my brother. I like a careful man.”

Phew. At her words, I covered my mouth with my hand to hold back the laughter that was about to burst out.

‘Ah, really, Lilian… you’re the best.’

But I couldn’t hold back the laughter, so I put down the madeleine I was eating and started laughing so hard that I almost choked.

After laughing like that for a while, I calmed down and nodded.

“You have good taste.”

Lilian smiled happily at my words.

“That’s right, look at Duke Chilan. How careful he is. The princess married well.”

‘Lilian, are you possessed by any chance?’

No, how could a seven-year-old say something like that? And how could she have such good and upright tastes?

I thought that if Lilian had been born on Earth and was the same age as me, we would have definitely been good friends.

I burst out laughing and patted her head as I spoke.

“That’s good to see you like that.”

“Everyone would think so, because he’s the official first-class groom of the Empire.”

I nodded at her words. He’s perfect, handsome, high-ranking, tall… if only he didn’t have a wife-to-be.

“Isn’t he not the first-class groom anymore, since he has a wife-to-be?”

At that moment, I nodded in agreement at the voice that suddenly came from behind me.

That’s right, he has a wife-to-be. Huh?

When I turned around, Baridas was standing there, not knowing when he’d come.

“Greeting the little star and little sun of the Empire.”

After greeting the two, Baridas handed me a small box.

It was a box with a red ribbon tied around it, and when I tilted my head, he opened his mouth.

“I have something to do nearby.”

Inside the box were four financiers from the store I had eaten deliciously at a few days ago.

When I saw that, I thought.

‘…Baridas, you’re a first-class fiance.’

Not the first-class groom, but just first-class fiance. Or something like that.

“Thank you.”

When I said that, he smiled and nodded.

“Can I attend the tea party too?”

In response to Baridas’ question, Rayan didn’t say anything but made a curt expression, and Lilian nodded in agreement.

So Baridas’s seat was prepared and the tea party began again.

When Baridas gave the children each the financier he had given her, Lilian opened her mouth.

“Your Highness, I have a favor to ask.”

“If it’s something I can give you, please do it.”

When Baridas gave his permission, Lilian shouted as if she had been waiting.

“You must give birth to a son with the appearance of the princess and the personality of the duke.”

Baridas’ eyes widened at the unimaginable request.

“What?”

“Then you can have the prettiest and most talented daughter-in-law in the empire.”

Baridas tilted his head as if he didn’t understand Lilian’s words, and I burst out laughing.

Who else but Lilian would dare say something like that in front of Baridas?

Baridas, who belatedly understood Lilian’s words, covered his face with his hand. Why was that woman doing this to me as a pair?

That’s what I thought.

We enjoyed the tea party for a long time, and before we knew it, the sun was setting.

Among us, Lilian was the first to get up.

“I’ll go now, so be careful going in.”

She held up her dress and greeted me elegantly before running into the palace.

“Then, let’s go back now.”

I nodded at Baridas’s words and got up.

I patted Rayan’s head before leaving.

“Be careful going in.”

Rayan’s face turned red like an apple at my actions.

He got up and shouted.

“Be careful going in!”

Baridas’ eyes twitched.

“Your Highness, be careful going in too.”

Baridas reached out his hand to me as he said that.

I waved at Rayan, holding his hand as I was used to. I thought that Baridas’ expression looked more upset than usual.
