The Villainess' Ending Was Death

CHAPTER 011

‘Why all of a sudden? What should I do?’

The thought that she should leave this forest immediately clashed with the thought that she should not leave Lycaon alone.

Lycaon’s body began to tremble uncontrollably.

“Mr. Lycaon, come to your senses. You can’t lose your consciousness.”

Fresa was the first to escape from Lycaon’s arms. Lycaon was about to fall to the floor when her support disappeared. Fresa quickly grabbed his arm and supported him. The difference in their physiques was great, and Lycaon’s body was as heavy as wet cotton, so it seemed like even Fresa would fall.

Fresa barely took a step away and gritted her teeth.

“It’s okay, nothing will happen.”

There was no way Lycaon could hear, but Fresa continued to mutter that it was okay. It was also something she said to herself.

‘What should I do about this?’

But she wasn’t okay at all. Lycaon was growing heavier and the forest was getting darker. If this continued, both of them might become food for wild animals. Fresa barely took a step on her trembling legs. At that time, a deep voice was heard.

“Your Highness!”

Highness? Fresa looked ahead at her unfamiliar name. Zed, the knight of Lycaon, came running with a thoughtful look on his face. She didn’t know where he was watching, but Fresa was relieved to see him appear.

Zed hurriedly helped Lycaon.

“Your Highness, come to your senses!”

Fresa was naturally pushed to the side. Fortunately, Zed’s physique was large and strong, so it seemed like it was nothing to support Lycaon. Fresa said, staring at the back of Zed’s head with her sorry eyes.

“Sorry. I didn’t know his condition was that bad.”

Zed took a step forward and looked back at Fresa.

“…It’s not your fault. Because it was all what this person wanted.”

What Lycaon wanted. Just digging up herbs together? Fresa felt strange, but couldn’t ask any more questions because Zed was walking quickly forward. Zed quickly walked away, waving his long legs.

Fresa’s breath rose to her chin as she followed him. As they left the forest as dusk began to set, they saw Lycaon and Fresa’s house. Considering Lycaon’s physical condition, it was fortunate that they went to a nearby forest.

‘It certainly didn’t look bad…’

Fresa felt guilty because she felt like she had dragged Rika On with her for no reason. She mistakenly thought he would be fine at this level. She took it lightly because Lycaon didn’t show much of the hardships.

‘I should be safe.’

Before she knew it, she was at the front door of Lycaon’s house. Zed opened the door in a familiar manner and looked back at Fresa.

“You go back.”

She couldn’t just leave Lycaon alone. Fresa stared at Zed with his stern eyes.

“Let’s go to my house. I might find a way to help.”

“We need to call a doctor.”

“I know how to make medicine. As you may have heard from Mr. Lycaon, I also received a pharmacy license. I also tried treating wounds. Please do me a favor, Mr. Zed.”

Zed’s eyes frowned slightly.

“Ugh…”

Lycaon frowned at her and made a moan. Zed must have thought he couldn’t waste any more time, so he turned to Fresa’s house. Fresa, who ran ahead of him, opened the front door. Zed hurriedly entered the house.

Fresa pointed to the bedroom.

“Please lay him down over there.”

Zed laid Lycaon on the bed and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Then he took a vial from his pocket and fed it to Lycaon.

“Uh, uh, ugh…”

Lycaon twisted his body as if in pain. His body was clearly a ball of fire, but his complexion was pale. Fresa swallowed her saliva and walked towards him.

“What disease is it? You have to say it clearly.”

Zed answered as he closed the cap of the medicine bottle.

“It’s the monster’s poison.”

Fresa’s eyes widened. It’s the monster’s poison. Although she studied from books, she had no idea that someone was actually suffering from the monster’s poison. Even more so than knowing that it was Lycaon.

Fresa’s eyes turned to the medicine bottle Zed was holding.

“What is that medicine?”

“It’s just a temporary measure. Because we haven’t found an antidote yet…”

Zed trailed off.

This meant that Lycaon could recover as long as the antidote was available. Fresa stared at Zed with his eyes sparkling.

“Exactly what kind of monster’s poison is it?”

“Why are you asking that?”

“I was thinking about making an antidote.”

Zed’s eyes narrowed. It seemed like he didn’t trust Fresa at all. But Presa said he was confident. She was confident that if she could figure out what kind of monster’s poison it was, he would definitely create an antidote. To be precise, she was planning to grow an antidote herb that would be the main ingredient for an antidote.

Zed thought for a moment.

Fresa patiently waited for his answer without prompting. At that time, Lycaon twisted his body in pain. Zed’s tightly closed lips opened.

“It’s a dragon.”

Fresa was a little embarrassed.

‘Weren’t dragons extinct?’

Dragons were higher creatures that used evil magic and slaughtered humans. The last dragon died just one year ago, having its heart stolen by the Empire’s magic tower lord.

If so, Lycaon would have been poisoned much earlier than that. She felt uneasy thinking about how he had lived in such pain for such a long time.

“See for yourself.”

Zed slightly lifted up Lycaon’s top and unwrapped the bandage tightly wrapped around his waist. The wound on his left side was fully exposed. Fresa covered her mouth with her hand.

“Oh my god.”

It was terrible. Black poison was flowing from the gaping wound. It felt like black smoke was pouring out. It seemed like it had been a while since the wound had healed, but the gap had widened like another space.

“Has he been moving his body with this until now?”

“Yes. He is a very stubborn person.”

Zed laughed bitterly. Fresa moved a little closer and carefully inspected Lycaon’s wounds.

‘The wound itself is not that big. If I just get rid of this poison, I will be able to get better.’

Fresa recalled a few herbs in her head. The antidote recipe she worked so hard to obtain would definitely be helpful.

Fresa looked at Zed with a determined face.

“I need you to help me, Mr. Zed.”

* * *

Fresa went down to the basement with Zed and opened a thick book containing all kinds of antidote recipes. As soon as she remembered her past life, it was the first book she obtained with great difficulty. The only prescription book in the world left behind by the genius pharmacist Priscilla. Thanks to this book, she was able to create a medicine to fake death. She didn’t know she would be taking it out again so soon.

‘Dragon, dragon, dragon…’

Fresa, who was turning the pages of the book, checking each one with his fingers, soon found a recipe to detoxify dragon poison.

‘This is it.’

After examining what ingredients were used, Fresa looked back at Zed, who was standing quietly behind him.

“Keep it a secret, you know?”

“Yes?”

Zed was taken aback by the sudden question. Without further explanation, Fresa took out various soil, flower pots, and medicinal plant seeds from her shelf. To make an antidote for dragon poison, new herbs were needed. Since the herbs she had now were not enough, she had no choice but to quickly sprout new ones. She just hoped that Zed’s mouth would be heavy.

Fresa filled the pot with soil and sowed her seeds. Zed watched her with strange eyes. Well, she said she was making an antidote, and then suddenly she was planting seeds, which seemed strange to her. Fresa pressed her fingers over her seed and opened and closed her eyes slightly.

Thump, thump, thump.

The seeds burst out one by one, and she sprouted at once and began to grow rapidly. Zed’s eyes opened wide.

“What on earth is this…?”

She didn’t have time to respond to that reaction right now. Fresa said to Zed as she picked a fully grown herb.

“Mr. Zed, could you please give me the reagent bottle over there? And please bring me some water.”

“Yes? Ah, yes. All right.”

Zed seemed to have finally come to his senses and moved as Fresa asked. Fresa read her complex recipe with her own eyes several times. If she made even the slightest mistake, she might become a completely different person. The antidote was such a difficult drug to make. She couldn’t help but feel nervous when it came to the medicine that would even cure the rare dragon poison.

“Here you are, Miss Fresa.”

Not long after, Zed brought some clean water. Her title had changed before she knew it, but

Fresa didn’t care.

After washing her hands, she put dozens of ingredients one by one into her pot.

‘Don’t get confused.’

If she missed the turn, she would fail. She had to come to her senses.

Fresa carefully exhaled even her breath as she added the last ingredient.

Plop.

With a clear sound, her pot began to boil. Fresa controlled the temperature of the oven.

“Now… I need the most important thing.”

“What is that?”

Zed also asked a question with a nervous face. She answered, looking straight at him.

“Mr. Lycaon’s blood.”

“…It’s not black magic, is it?”

Zed made an uneasy expression.

“Luckily, I don’t know how to do magic. All it takes is a few drops.”

“All right.”

Zed thought for a moment and then he went up. After he was completely gone beyond the stairs, Fresa took out one of her unsaid ingredients. It was the drug that Fresa had created to fake her death. A unique drug that has different effects depending on the amount. It took Fresa 10 years to create this drug.

‘I didn’t know I’d bring it up again like this.’

The amount Fresa drank brought her into her suspended state, but a few drops of her would cleanse Lycaon’s blood. For that reason, Lycaon’s poisoned blood was needed.

“Miss Resa, is this enough?”

Just then, Zed returned. He held out a small bottle containing a few drops of black blood.

‘Even the blood has turned black.’

Fresa looked at the bottle for a moment and then without hesitation poured it into her pot. Then she stirred vigorously with a large spatula. A strange smell that could not be described as sweet or bitter filled the basement. Zed still looked anxious. Fresa, which has been stirring up medicine for quite some time, has finally come out.

“It’s complete.”

Beads of sweat were flowing down. There was only a small amount of purple sticky liquid left in the pot. Fresa poured the medicine into a reagent bottle and looked at Zed.

“Now I’m going to give you this medicine. You should also apply it to wounds.”

Zed nodded with a nervous look on his face.

“All right.”

Fresa returned to the bedroom with Zed, holding a vial of medicine. And while Zed was supporting Lycaon’s head, he dropped the antidote into Lycaon’s mouth.

“If something goes wrong…”

Zed comforted his dry lips. Fresa replied as she applied medicine to Lycaon’s wounds.

“I will take responsibility.”

Because she would never fail. Fresa was confident and waited for Lycaon to wake up.
