The Villainess' Ending Was Death

CHAPTER 001

Flashing.

My eyes opened spontaneously early in the morning. It was a sunny summer day. Fresa of Count Thorpe’s family waited for just this moment. Today was the day when the main characters of the novel <Alicia>, in which she was reincarnated, were getting married. Fresa Thorpe was a childish and petty villainess. She did stupid things to create a divide between the female and male protagonists. Even if she was reborn, she would still be such a stupid, evil woman.

Even though she felt unfair thinking about it again, Fresa lived hard anyway. She did her best to ensure that the original work ran safely toward completion. Did she want to change the original story and become the main character? Of course there was. However, every time she had tried to deviate from the original work, she had become seriously ill or injured, and had almost died.

‘It was terrible when I fell down the stairs trying to escape the mansion.’

There were too many similar incidents to consider it simply a coincidence. In the original, the female lead and her male lead were allowed to go on a smooth date, but suddenly they got an upset stomach and were sick for two days. On days when the employees were nice to the employees, the ceiling, which was fine, collapsed. In the end, Fresa gave up the deviance plan and remained faithful to her role until this original story came to a safe conclusion. She was the fiancée of Rowan Gillespie, the male protagonist. So, it was natural for her to be jealous of Alicia Loomis, the female protagonist who suddenly appeared.

<Alicia> was a typical story about the handsome and prickly Rowan meeting the beautiful and kind maid Alicia and falling in love with her. The love between a young count and a commoner maid. It was so unrealistic. Fortunately, Fresa was just one of many obstacles to their love; she was not a very important character. Her final villain role was separate, so it was enough for her to appear and play a role in strengthening the relationship between the two people. She held Rowan’s ankles to prevent them from meeting, and she even gave Alicia so much work that she couldn’t complete it in one day. Like this, most of them were trivial, absurd, childish evil deeds.

‘But it must have been very difficult for Alicia.’

If Fresa was asked to write a book about the guilt she felt each time, it would be in the thousands. Anyway, that too was over now. Today, if the two ot married safely and have a happy ending, Fresa Soph would be free.

Freedom!

Just thinking about getting out of this boring role made her whole body tremble with joy. Even though no one woke Fresa, she jumped up and started humming an old song. She then sat in front of the dressing table and combed her light purple hair that had become matted all night. At that time, the door burst open. It was a very rude appearance. She was able to tell who her uninvited guest was without having to check her face.

“The sun is in the middle of the sky and it hasn’t risen yet…”

The sarcasm was cut off. Fresa looked at him through the mirror. Jerome Thorpe. He was Fresa’s second older brother and the heir to the Thorpe family. She has been sleeping until noon to play Fresa, who was supposed to oversleep every day. In other words, it was almost the first time she woke up this early alone.

Jerome’s face was so embarrassed that it was clearly visible in his eyes. Fresa turned her body towards Jerome and smiled sweetly.

“Today is a very important day, brother. I had no choice but to wake up early.”

“You…”

Jerome strode forward, his bright red hair characteristic of the Thorpe family flowing. He maintained his hair so well that it was so shiny that it was almost blinding to his eyes. The past days when she wanted to grab this pretty hair and shake it until it fell off flashed by like a flash. Fresa jumped up and looked straight up at him.

“Do you have anything to say, Brother Jerome?”

“Are you planning on doing something stupid again? There would be no way to laugh, right? Today is the wedding of Count Gillespie, whom you love so much!”

“Of course I know.”

“But why…”

“Can you smile? Starting today, I plan to give my sincere blessings to Count Gillespie and Miss Alicia.”

Fresa stretched out her index finger and waved it gently in front of Jerome’s eyes. Jerome’s red eyes reflexively followed the finger and rolled back and forth. He gave an expression that made no sense.

“Ble, blessing? You’re blessing two people?”

“Sure! What a well-matched pair. Someone like me should have stepped down a long time ago.”

Fresa moistened her eyes and wiped them with her sleeve. The main characters’ wedding wouldn’t happen on the same day, so from today, it was time to live as the real Fresa, not the ‘evil girl Fresa’. Fresa has been treated coldly by her family all this time. Elias, the perfect successor, Amy, her lovely and brilliant youngest daughter, and Jerome, a genius in swordsmanship despite his fiery personality. Compared to the three people where their strengths were clear, Fresa was lacking. It was quite natural for Fresa to be shunned by her perfect family, not because of her exceptional talent, her outstanding looks, or her attractive personality. She was even born with hair of a different color, the only one in the Thorpe family, whose symbol was red. Moreover, the only thing she was good at was chasing the male protagonist and harassing the female protagonist, so she was bound to be a thorn in the side of the Thorpe family who valued honor. However, the current Fresa, who was reincarnated with the memories of her previous life intact, was different. How fortunate she was that she no longer had to play Fresa from the original.

“And I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time, Brother Jerome.”

Fresa took a step closer to Jerome. When she saw Jerome’s sudden approach to her face, she was startled and craned her neck behind her.

“W-what is it?”

Fresa smiled broadly and tapped her temple with her finger.

“How about training this instead of the sword? If you just swing your sword ignorantly, your bottom line will soon be revealed. Use your head too. Did you know? Read at least one sentence of the book.”

“What? What now?”

Jerome’s face turned redder than her hair.

‘Well, it’s surprising because I’ve been so intimidated in front of her family that I haven’t even been able to make eye contact.’

In fact, the reason why Fresa became a villainess was largely because of her family’s neglect and persecution. Her perfect family was a source of fear for Fresa, so she took out her anger on her easygoing servants. Because of that, in the kingdom, she was probably the only person who clicked her tongue at the mere mention of her name.

‘I’m leaving here today anyway, so it doesn’t matter anymore.’

Fresa maintained her smile and pointed to the open door with the tip of her chin.

“Then, I have to get ready for the wedding, so will you please leave? How long are you all going to be looking at her big sister in her pajamas?”

“What, what? what?”

“Pajamas, pajamas. It’s so thin, almost see-through, and uncomfortable.”

Jerome slightly lowered his stiff head to check Fresa’s clothes, and she was startled and left her room as if running away.

“Go, go! You will be punished for the rudeness you committed now after the wedding!”

Anyway, it’s amazing who the bluff resembles. Seeing that even the nape of his neck was red, he seemed very embarrassed by the current situation. People were really weird. It’s true that when someone you had looked down on all your life suddenly changes, you get shocked and freak out. Fresa slapped her hands and snorted.

‘Ah, I feel refreshed inside. It will be completed in a few hours, so this should be okay, right?’

Fortunately, there was no terrible pain or nausea that always came with the penalty.

‘Of course the ending is the best.’

Fresa hummed her tune and finished her preparations.

* * *

As expected, it was beautiful and extravagant, just like the wedding of the main characters.

Fresa sat down in the Thorpe family’s reserved seat and clapped her hands excitedly.

Everyone around her whispered that she must be crazy because her first love was taken away from her.

“To go crazy at such a young age…”

“Can she bear it without losing her temper?”

“Tsk tsk, after all, people should live good lives.”

The most absurd people were definitely the Thorpe family. Count and Countess Thorpe and Fresa’s brothers and sister glanced at Fresa and frowned at her. It seemed that Jerome had just recently told him what had happened that morning. Anyway, Fresa was just happy and joyful. It was the long-awaited ending as long as the main characters escaped the wedding hall safely. In the original, Fresa showed up in a flashy red dress to ruin her wedding. She then burst into tears and even screamed that this marriage was invalid. She actually would have been the perfect villain if she had done that, but she chose not to follow her original story as much as she does today. So far, her original penalty has come as karma the next day, not immediately after she committed a misbehavior. Once this wedding was over, the original story was over, so she would be safe no matter what she did today. Instead, Fresa repented of all her evil deeds and prayed earnestly for her two’s blessings. The wedding ceremony ended after the beautiful lovers shared a kiss of vows. Since Fresa was an unwelcome guest anyway, she got up without hesitation and left faster than anyone else. As she left the wedding venue, the hot sun and air greeted her.

“Perfect, perfect. It’s the perfect day to go away.”

Fresa hurried down her stairs, smiling wider than a flower in full bloom. As soon as she got into her carriage, she took off all her earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. The plan was to store these expensive items carefully and use them when needed in the future. Now, it’s time to get ready to leave. Fresa looked out her bright window, unable to control the corners of her mouth that kept rising. As soon as she arrived at Count Thorpe’s mansion, she headed to her room. Her direct maid, Lauren, who was just tidying up her bedroom, greeted her with surprised eyes.

“Miss, are you back already? What about the reception…”

“Lauren, it’s time.”

Fresa took a large leather bag from under her bed and swept up her jewelry. Lauren opened her mouth wide.

“Time? No way now…”

“That’s right. I’m leaving now. Can you bring me some medicine?”

‘This will be enough for a few years, right?’

From the moment Fresa remembered her past life, she has kept all her expensive items hidden. She had something she wanted to do and she had the capital to do what she needed to achieve that dream. These expensive items may be a bit difficult to dispose of right now, but they will definitely come in handy over time. Fresa carefully wrapped her leather pouch to keep it from opening, then looked at Lauren.

“Lauren?”

“You’re leaving so suddenly…”

Lauren’s eyes wavered uneasily. She was the only one who knew Fresa’s true form. At first she never thought to open her heart to this extent, but she wanted to rely on at least one of her maids. So she treated Lauren well, as long as it didn’t deviate from the original story. Lauren was a kind and warm person, unlike her greedy Fresa family. Fresa smiled softly, indicating that it was okay.

“I told you. Nothing will happen. Lauren, do you trust me?”

“Miss…”

“I do not have time. The family will be back soon.”

Fresa said she understood Lauren’s grief after being with her for a long time, but she didn’t have time to comfort her now. So she had to ask as firmly as possible. Lauren bit her lip and clenched her fists.

“Oh, I understand!”

Lauren quickly left her room. Fresa lay quietly in her bed, waiting for Lauren to return. At the wedding of her beloved, Fresa could not overcome her grief and drank her poison. What a wonderful ending.

‘Probably the only person in this mansion who will be sad is Lauren.’

Fresa closed her eyes and took slow, deep breaths. Soon after, Lauren returned. She held a small wooden box containing the medicine that would stop Fresa’s heart.

Good start, not a long and boring introduction. I also like that the story starts at the protagonists wedding, not the typical “after regression/isakie’d” a month or a year before the og story. Just hoping that the tl will improve
