Sophia felt something touch her forehead and slowly opened her eyes.
In her blurred vision, red hair appeared.
(…Randall?)
Sophia found Randall’s slightly nervous hazel eyes and furrowed her brow.
Was this a dream? Because Randall was there. He must have been mad at Sophia for playing in the water. He shouldn’t have returned to the mansion.
Just as Sophia stirred, a wet towel fell from her forehead.
Randall picked it up and he gently placed it back on Sophia’s forehead.
As he did so, he leaned in to peer at Sophia’s face, and his slightly furrowed eyebrows and displeased eyes met Sophia’s gaze.
Sophia blinked slowly.
(The ‘get-well-soon’ event…!)
Sophia had seen this face on Randall before. This was the scene from the get-well-soon event in the game!
Sophia stared at Randall’s face in awe, forgetting even to blink.
(Amazing! So noble! Dangerously cool!)
When Sophia was moved to tears, Randall misunderstood and thought it was because of her fever.
“Hey, are you okay?”
As he peered even closer, Sophia felt as though her breath was being taken away.
“Even though it’s mid-autumn, you still played in the water. It’s your own fault. I think you should learn from this and reflect on your actions a little.”
Randall grumbled, but Sophia didn’t hear him.
(I’m sure it was in the get-well-soon event where…)
After the scene from the event, the choices were:
- ”I’m thirsty.”
- “Can you get me some water?”
- “…(coughs)”.
(Cough!)
Sophia remembered the option that would increase Randall’s intimacy the most.
Using her acting skills honed in her drama club, she clutched her chest in pain and coughed, prompting Randall to reach around Sophia’s back and pat her soothingly.
“Would you like some water?”
Nodding silently, Sophia was gently helped up, and Randall moved water from the pitcher to a cup and brought it close to her mouth.
Sophia’s heart trembled with relief.
(Thank goodness! I’m really glad I played the game so many times!)
She loved the character of Randall so much that she had completed all his scenes and all three endings, replaying the game several times over. It was at times like this that those memories came in handy!
As she drank the water Randall gave her, Sophia felt like she was about to faint.
After finishing the water, she lay back down on the bed and looked up at Randall’s face.
“Go to sleep already.”
Though Randall spoke curtly, it would be a waste to fall asleep now. Unlike in the game, she wouldn’t know how Randall would act after she fell asleep!
Since Sophia refused to close her eyes, Randall misunderstood and pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down.
“What, are you feeling lonely? I’ll stay by your side until you fall asleep, so go to sleep now.”
(…Ah, I don’t mind dying now…)
Randall was so kind! So incredibly gentle!
Sophia reached her hand out from under the covers towards Randall. Then, despite his reluctance, he hesitantly took her hand in his, and Sophia felt even more ecstatic.
(Nosebleed, I think I’m going to get a nosebleed! I can’t sleep…!)
Excited beyond measure, Sophia stared at Randall with wide eyes for a while longer, unable to fall asleep – Randall, seeing Sophia in this state, started to worry that she might be going crazy due to the high fever.
