The Villainess’ Beloved Plan: The Struggles to Avoid a Doomed End

CHAPTER 002: The villainess wants to get married 2

Sophia endured.

She endured harassment from the queen and her half-sister for a year, until the king told her about her engagement to Randall, living quietly for a year. When she turned fifteen, Sophia received the summons she had been waiting for from the king.

As she entered the King’s room, he was sitting comfortably on the sofa and beckoned Sophia with a smile on his face. Unlike the queen, the king was kind to Sophia. She guessed he couldn’t help but feel sorry for his daughter, who had lived apart from him for 14 years. However, her father, the king, was rather weak-willed, and the queen was strong-willed, so he couldn’t go against her. In other words, in order for Sophia to live comfortably in this castle, her father was of no use.

“Sophia, I have good news for you.”

As Sophia sat down on the sofa, the king handed her some sweets and said in a pompous tone.

(Good news, huh?)

For Sophia now, her engagement to Randall would be “good news”, but for Sophia, who was originally the game’s villainess, it was the “worst news”. The King may be doing this with the best of intentions, but Sophia wondered if he had played a part in turning her into the villainess.

“Dad, what good news?”

However, Sophia had to accept this offer. When she asked him back, acting like she didn’t know anything, the king brought up the topic of her engagement to Randall, just as she had imagined.

“Randall is also your cousin, so I’m sure he will protect you.”

(In the game, instead of protecting me, he condemned me.)

Sophia thought inwardly, but kept a smile plastered on her face.

“I’d be happy if that were the case.”

“Yes, it is. Randall just doesn’t know how to act towards you yet, but once he gets to know you, he’ll definitely like you. There’s no doubt about it.”

He sounded very confident. He probably didn’t notice Randall’s icy gaze towards Sophia. What an easy-going King.

(I do want Randall to like me, though. But unlike the game, I don’t know how to win him over.)

Sophia let out a small sigh, and then she remembered what Orion had told her.

—Remember, okay? When the king brings up the topic of marriage, say this.

Sophia swallowed hard, made a sad expression on purpose, and said what Orion had instructed her to say.

“Um, Father. I don’t want to get engaged, instead I want to get married soon. Well… The Queen does not seem to welcome my presence here.”

Those were the acting skills she honed in her previous life at the drama club! Sophia approached the king in a pleading pose with her eyes moist. Then the king gripped Sophia’s hand tightly and suddenly started crying.

“Sophia…! I’m sorry for making you feel so bad because your father is so incompetent…!”

That’s exactly right. However, there was no way she could say that even if her lips were torn apart, so Sophia shook her head slightly.

“That’s not true. I’m grateful to Father. My mother died and I didn’t know how to live.”

“Sophia…!”

The king was overcome with emotion and hugged his daughter. It was too easy. This was why the queen was laying it on her ass. However, Sophia’s performance continued.

“Father…!”

Sophia also hugged the king back and gave him another blow.

“It’s very hard to leave my father! But if I stay in the castle any longer, I will make you suffer… This is the only thing I can do for you…!”

“Yeah, yeah, that’s right, Sophia! Father can’t stand to see you get hit any harder! Alright, you’ll marry Randall right away, so just wait!”

Sophia made a fist pump in her mind and pretended to cry, “Dad-!”

Thus, Sophia’s begging strategy was successful, and six months later, Sophia, now 16, and the young 23-year-old Duke held a wedding ceremony in the cathedral of Glastona Kingdom.
