Fetty Morrison was in front of her.
‘Don’t hesitate?’
John’s drowsy voice pierced her ears and spread deep into her heart. There were ripples like water drops falling into a quiet lake.
‘What?’
Petty Morrison was trembling, his limbs tied to the chair.
“Please save me. Please have mercy…”
She could feel fear in those ordinary brown eyes.
‘Fear.’
It’s a gaze she was not used to. Usually, the only way people looked at her was with malice, contempt, anger or hatred. And most of those gazes were when looking at the weak.
“Is there any reason why I should forgive you?”
Because John was behind her, she now had the power to control a person’s life.
‘This is what it feels like.’
A position where you could look down on someone from above and judge them as you pleased.
‘John must have always looked at me from this position.’
She looked into Petty Morrison’s eyes with a serene gaze. Petty Morrison’s brown eyes trembled as he met her gaze.
“S-sorry. I did everything wrong. Due to family circumstances, I had to write a provocative article…”
He didn’t know what to do and avoided her gaze.
“Is there anything else you can say?”
Looking at it from this position, the pleading and desperate expressions of the person below just seemed funny.
Petty Morrison had already committed a crime against her, she had been harmed no matter what he said now, and she could easily get rid of him with one decision of her own.
Then she felt strange.
“You belittled, found fault with, and hurt me for no reason even though I had nothing to do with you. Thanks to that, I became a sinless evil woman and was judged by all kinds of people.”
“Well, I didn’t know it would go that far.”
“I lost the possibility of my life because of a few lines of the article you wrote, which sounded like nothing was made up.”
The rumor that she was the Libertan evil woman. If it weren’t for that, she wouldn’t have suffered this much humiliation.
‘At least I would have had a chance to do something more.’
However, due to the rumor that she was Libertan’s evil woman, she was imprisoned in the mansion and could not even dream of escaping from Libertan.
Petty Morrison, who couldn’t even look her in the eyes, hesitated and begged.
“Please forgive me just this once. If you forgive me this time, I will make sure something like this never happens again.”
“Do you believe that?”
John sneered in a cynical voice.
“It’s just an excuse to avoid a situation.”
“Oh, no! I am truly reflecting, and if you can forgive me like this, I will somehow…”
“Then what are you going to do?”
John playfully tapped the chair that Petty Morrison was tied to with his foot. The slightest movement of the chair made Petty Morrison feel as if he had been stabbed.
“S-sorry!”
“If you know your sin, you must die. Why are you trying to make excuses?”
John laughed as if Petty Morrison’s reaction was funny and put his arm around her shoulder. His thumb brushed the back of her neck.
“Estelle, it’s good that you think of others, but if you do that, you’ll only lose yourself.”
“Is that so?”
“Just think about your hurt. Isn’t that the most important thing?”
At first glance, what John said was correct.
‘You didn’t even understand my situation anyway.’
She raised her head and made eye contact with John. John took a dagger out of his arms and placed it in her hand. Her heartbeat grew louder, as if the dagger had become part of her body. Maybe it was because she was extremely excited.
“I care more about the hurt you suffered than the crime this insignificant person committed. So I want to make it easier for you.”
John even kindly decided where to stab him with the dagger.
“Poke as much as you want.”
John’s large hand grabbed both of her hands holding the dagger and guided it so that the blade touched Petty Morrison’s neck. At the end of the dagger, she could feel Petty Morrison shaking with fear.
“Isn’t it unfair that you’ve always had to suffer?”
* * *
John narrowed his eyes and looked at Estelle.
Estelle held a dagger to Petty Morrison’s neck. A trickle of blood flowed from Petty Morrison’s neck, which was slightly scratched by the blade.
“That’s right.”
Estelle’s long white eyelashes drooped.
“It’s unfair and frustrating to have to suffer like this.”
“Yeah, it’s worth it.”
“I wondered if there was a reason why he did this to me, but there was no reason for that.”
John sympathized with Estelle’s feelings and patted her on the shoulder. Estelle could feel the pain inside her just through her voice.
Although kind-hearted Estelle was hesitant, this stage would be a little different. She wouldn’t tolerate it.
‘Just like I did.’
In that way, he and Estelle entered the same world as himself.
John moved his dark magic, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction. Petty Morrison tried to struggle in fear, but his body was consumed by her dark magic and he was unable to fight back.
‘Now is the time.’
A strange magic circle appeared within John’s red eyes, and black magic was activated. Now the only thing left for Estelle to do was kill this stupid and sinful bastard.
“Mr. Petty Morrison.”
Estelle held the dagger as if it were going to stab him and then hold it back.
“Do you have any last words you want to leave?”
“Well, that’s… I do not know.”
“I thought so. Then, even if you die now, you won’t have any regrets, since you’re dying because of your own fault, right?”
Estelle swung the dagger at Petty Morrison. Petty Morrison closed his eyes in contemplation. But the dagger stopped right in front of Petty Morrison.
Estelle chuckled and carelessly threw the dagger on the floor. John raised an eyebrow at Estelle’s behavior.
‘Aren’t you going to kill him?’
Estelle’s behavior was not what John expected.
“Estelle, are you trying to get revenge in another way?”
Estelle did not answer John. Estelle passed over Petty Morrison to another person who was next to him. She asked a similar question, as she did to Petty Morrison.
“Why do you hate me so much? If you’re honest, I’ll give you a chance.”
Of course, the answer was not cool.
“Well, I thought that was okay. Sorry!”
Estelle gagged the man again and blindfolded him, then moved to his side. He guessed she just was going to ask everyone here.
‘Well, it probably doesn’t mean anything.’
There was a separate reason why John kidnapped them and tied them up to be sacrificed.
All of the people gathered here were trash. If the crime was moderately bad, Estelle might be concerned if she finds out later. But still, John didn’t understand Estelle.
‘You just got really angry.’
Estelle’s angry reaction was sincere. So John was sure of Estelle’s revenge.
“I needed money urgently…”
“Because our publishing company is small, we have no choice but to quickly attract the attention of the empire…”
However, Estelle seemed to have quickly shaken off her anger and calmly listened to their excuses.
‘Why don’t you take revenge?’
It couldn’t be due to lack of resentment. This was a situation that would make anyone angry. Didn’t he kindly prepare all the evidence so that Estelle could be convinced?
‘Why is this woman…’
Why did she move in a completely different way than John?
“Do you know that there are no excuses?”
“…”
“I don’t know, but I can’t help it. So did I.”
After the last person answered Estelle, she slowly caught her breath. John asked, caressing Estelle’s cheek.
“If it’s hard for you to get revenge, should I do it for you?”
If you think about it, revenge may have been too heavy an emotion for Estelle, who grew up beautifully. Then Estelle looked at him with dark blue eyes.
“No. There’s no need for that.”
“…why?”
John brought his face closer without realizing it. Estelle’s grip on her cheek tightened.
“You’re letting them go without taking revenge?”
“Who doesn’t take revenge?”
Estelle laughed bitterly.
“This is my way of revenge.”
“…”
“I don’t want those people to sin and end up like that. You should have a chance to reflect on what crime you have committed and make amends.”
Estelle was the most noble among these miserable human scum. John twisted his mouth.
“You don’t really believe they will change, do you?”
“That’s just what I want to do.”
“…”
“I thought about it a lot, and in the end, this is what I wanted.”
John felt extremely thirsty.
He couldn’t possibly understand Estelle. Even if they died soon, the damage she had suffered would only be relieved after he had repaid it several times over. Because John was a monster who was trying to throw him into an even bigger hell as he had tormented him.
‘I want to defile you.’
A woman with a sparkle despite deep wounds and trauma in her heart.
‘No, I want you to stay the same.’
John wanted to bring Estelle down to hell where he was. But on the contrary, she reminded him of the forgotten feelings inside John, whom he thought was infinitely dirty. His perfect plan was to kill those who were harassing Estelle and treat Estelle’s illness by sacrificing them.
‘It was a complete failure.’
Estelle once again denied his plan.
* * *
She glanced at the dagger she had discarded on the floor.
‘I almost killed him.’
To be honest, she wanted to kill them all. No. Since she didn’t want to do it with her own hands, she wanted to ask John to help him meet a terrible end. If it weren’t for a thought that suddenly passed through her mind.
‘If this is the case, what makes me any different from John?’
She understood John’s actions, but she didn’t want to be like him.
‘Then I think it would be so sad.’
Just as there was an unfair victim in John’s plan, which seemed more perfect than anyone else’s, there could also be someone like her at this very moment.
‘At least I hope that there will never be someone like me.’
She felt like only then could she be honest with herself, the person she was as a child who was unfairly hurt and sad. So, she deliberately listened to their circumstances one by one. Even if they didn’t realize the sin they had committed.
In the end, as she expected, only unacceptable excuses came out, but she wanted to give them a chance.
“I’m sorry if I made you feel frustrated.”
John’s eyes darkened as if they were going to eat her.
The intense heat engraved in the shiny red eyes made her feel a thrilling tension, as if she had been prey to the bones.
“So, what opportunities do you want to give them?”
“They should at least go back and publish a corrected article. So that they can admit what crime they have committed. If we go back now, public opinion will have changed a lot anyway, so it won’t be difficult.”
“What if it’s still the same?”
“Is there anything more I can say from then on?”
She had no intention of taking responsibility for the lives of idiots who dig their own graves.
“John will take care of it and dispose of it in the most cruel way. I guess they’ll have to pay a higher price for throwing away the opportunity.”
“It’s so strange.”
John hugged her tightly as if he couldn’t bear it anymore. He rubbed his face on the back of her neck. His breath on the back of her neck made her hair stand up and gave her goosebumps.
“When I look at you, I feel like something is wrong with me. I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“The reason I can do this is because of John.”
Just as they were able to deal with them easily, they would also be punished if they committed a crime again.
‘From John’s point of view, I might be annoyed.’
To be honest, John and she had different positions. Even if she didn’t punish them, her survival was not threatened.
“And there’s one thing I’m grateful to those people for, that they put a little more thought into it.”
“What is that?”
“I was able to meet John because those people spread bad rumors.”
She grabbed John by the neck and smiled gently at him.
“So I’m fine.”
And then she pressed her lips against John’s well-shaped lips.
John took a heated breath and squeezed her cheeks, pulling them closer.
“As expected, I can’t beat you.”
At that moment, the dolls, which were trembling and gagged, were crushed horribly and exploded like firecrackers. But what she saw next wasn’t a disgusting fountain of blood.
“This…”
Sparkling star dust and flower petals were flying around. Her eyes, which were looking at the enchanting scenery, met John’s.
John rolled his eyes and smiled.
“There’s no way I would ask you to do something terrible like revenge.”
* * *
“What, I was the only one surprised!”
Estelle smiled, her eyes wide like a rabbit.
“Are you going to keep messing around like this?”
“Sorry, your reactions are so cute that I keep teasing you.”
It’s a lie. This was just a simple trick. John tried to sacrifice them in some other way. There was just an error with the black magic, which resulted in a strange reaction.
John’s heart was burning black as he smiled languidly. His black magic couldn’t cure her. And John drew a conclusion from this situation where problems with black magic kept occurring.
“I’ve surprised you enough, so now I’ll take you to a place where you won’t really be surprised.”
Estelle was already under a curse.
To cure Estelle, he must first resolve the curse.
