The Villain Is Obsessed With His Fake Wife

17. It’s Just You

The name of the person who sent the note was not written, but she recognized who it was at once. Because there was only one person who could send her a note like this.

[Madam, don’t sleep today, wait. Because we have to sleep together.]

Without realizing it, she kept reading the few sentences and blushed.

‘Why, why, why, what the hell are you going to do?’

It wasn’t the first time John had visited her room, but she was strangely nervous.

‘This isn’t because I’m weird.’

They haven’t had the first night yet. Because neither John nor she talked about the first night.

‘It must be because I’m a fake wife.’

There was no need to have a first night unless they were a real couple on paper. But strangely, she was thinking that the first night could be held.

‘Let’s not think about it any more.’

She shook her head, covering her two flushed cheeks. Anyway, John must have been playing around like he always did. She put the note beside her and immediately lay down on the bed.

‘Come to think of it, the room has completely changed.’

So crazy things kept happening that she couldn’t even think about it.

‘Unlike the previous dull room, it is completely antique.’

Somehow, the room itself seemed to ooze elegance. When she let Betty go, she should have asked what kind of room this was.

‘I’ll have to ask tomorrow.’

She turned off the unresolved parts and focused on the book. <Basics of magic.> The magic books were all written in ancient languages. The ancient language passed through as the most difficult language in the empire, befitting a dead language. Perhaps that was why John let her read this book.

‘Actually, knowing how to read ancient languages doesn’t mean you can use magic.’

Her ancient language skills were not bad, but she was able to read magic books quickly. Then her gaze stopped at one point.

‘Dark magic.’

[Magic is the power to change the laws of the world through mana.]

[Black magic can break the principles of the world through sacrifices and curses.]

[Curse has a different price for each black magician. This is because the wishes that black magicians want to achieve are all different.]

‘Am I going to make them pay in the future?’

The moment she read that sentence, her heart started beating strangely. In the original story, John said that he sacrificed himself to become a warlock. However, according to the book, offering black magic wasn’t that simple.

‘Come to think of it, I couldn’t even figure out what it meant to sacrifice myself.’

[However, black magic sometimes brings a future that the person did not anticipate at the cost. In a way that even the warlock himself cannot understand.]

As she was reflecting on a meaningful passage about dark magic, a shadow fell over her head. A large hand gracefully picked up her book and pulled it out.

“Basics of Magic.”

She saw John in a robe right in front of her.

“It’s a book I’ve read many times before.”

John’s beautiful muscles were elegantly exposed through the navy blue gown. Even though she had seen it once before, it was difficult to take her eyes off the man’s sharp-cleaved body.

‘It feels completely different from a suit.’

She unknowingly swallowed her saliva. Unlike suits that show the body in moderation, gowns were clothes that reveal the body as it was. That’s why she felt his perfect body intact to the point of admiration. The thick ribcage, wide shoulders that fall just right, and the sleek waistline that exudes a strange atmosphere.

‘I-I can’t look at it so blatantly…’

However, her gaze was very honest with John’s body. John sat down next to her casually as if not noticing her gaze and asked. Every time the loosely tied gown moved, her heart pounded for no reason. John tilted his head and asked kindly.

“Isn’t the ancient language difficult? Even among the ancient languages, there are many difficult words.”

“It was okay because I skipped the parts I didn’t know in the middle and read them. I didn’t read it to study properly anyway…”

“Hmm.”

John, who quickly flipped through the book, looked at her again.

“Ma’am. Don’t you want to study properly?”

“Study?”

“It is a book that is usually difficult to borrow. I could teach you whenever I have free time.”

“Oh, the Duke?”

“Of course, me.”

He shrugged his broad shoulders.

“Is there anyone other than me who wants to study together?”

The words sounded like a half-joking light laugh, but it was a sound that made a corner of her heart feel fresh. She nodded her head and replied.

“They say I have no one to ask for something like this.”

“It should be.”

John nodded his head leisurely and smiled.

“Because I wouldn’t let a guy like that near you.”

For some reason, it seemed that it would be difficult to continue to talk about this magic. She asked John while showing the note he had left on the bedside table in front of him.

“By the way, this note, why did I have to wait without sleeping?”

“Ha! That.”

John took the note from her hand and dropped it on the floor.

“That’s because it’s the first time we share a marital bedroom.”

“…yes?”

“You used to sleep in the wife’s room, but now you’re in the couple’s bedroom. So, as a rule, husband and wife should share one room.”

Then this spacious and luxurious room was the bedroom of the couple at the Duke’s residence?! Somehow, the old-fashioned atmosphere that flowed throughout the room began to make sense.

‘Then, while I’m down, I’ve been treated almost like a formal Duchess.’

Originally, only the Duchess could use the couple’s bedroom. So even though she wanted to enter this bedroom in the original, she couldn’t.

‘Did I do well up until now?’

It was when she was suddenly immersed in such thoughts. John’s solid body came closer. He whispered softly, wrapping his muscular arm around her shoulder.

“What are you thinking about now?”

His red eyes shone brightly.

“I guess you have time to think of something other than me.”

Feeling somewhat ominous, she answered quickly.

“Well, then I wondered if the Duke and I would continue to sleep together from now on.”

“Of course we should continue to sleep together.”

“Gye, keep going like this…?”

Her gaze naturally returned to his gown. Then he raised a corner of his mouth and smiled.

“I usually wear comfortable clothes like this when I sleep.”

Maybe he was wearing too comfortable clothes! Unable to argue with John, she rolled her navy blue eyes. Then John smiled and pinched her cheek.

“Uncomfortable?”

John, who was staring at her, lightly brushed her skin texture and asked in a quiet voice.

“Me or my clothes?”

She unknowingly swallowed her saliva. John slowly wrapped his hands around her waist and laid her on the bed. Even with the touch of the cozy blanket, her heart was still uncomfortable.

“That… It’s not necessarily uncomfortable.”

“It looks very uncomfortable to my eyes.”

Momentarily, John’s face came closer. She was startled involuntarily by the sudden decrease in distance, and she took a step back.

“This.”

John backed away and knocked her onto the bed.

“If you keep running away, I’ll want to chase after you without even thinking about it.”

His interest-filled gaze scanned her. He slowly locked her in his arms and squeezed her wrists. He gripped his thin wrist tightly and smiled at her like a hungry beast.

“What if I get provoked like this?”

Gulp.

The loose gown was pushed away by the rough movement, revealing a menacing appearance of the hard body.

‘I didn’t mean to provoke you!’

The fact that he and she had such a difference in physique gave her chills. If he puts his mind to it, John would probably be able to kill her more easily than anyone else. without any great preparation. He raised a smirk at her wary eyes.

“Don’t worry.”

John’s face came closer. Light shadows fluttered over his handsome face, adding to the decadent atmosphere.

“I can’t just eat a wife who doesn’t know anything.”

John lightly rubbed the bridge of his nose against her nose and smiled softly. He straightened the hand that was holding her wrist and squeezed her hand as well. The skeleton itself was straight and elegant, and in his noble hand, which seemed to have never gone through hardships, it felt rough and hard.

“Today, we will just hold hands and sleep.”

John pulled her into his arms. Beyond the gown, wild muscles gripped her body. She felt a strange feeling that her body temperature and his were warmed to the same temperature.

‘I need to be more alert.’

Somehow the night seems to be getting too long.

* * *

John slowly raised his eyelids. The bright morning sun was falling through the window. John raised his eyebrows crookedly.

‘…Did I really fall asleep here?’

His first plan was to stay with Estelle and go back halfway. In the first place, when John was with others, he could not fall asleep. So he couldn’t believe they slept together like this. This was a variable that was not in his plan at all.

‘How can I?’

He slowly recalled the memories of that night. Estelle, held in his arms, did not fall asleep peacefully. The woman who had been provoking him with her tossing and turning quickly lifted her reddened head, she said.

‘I-I can’t sleep because I’m so nervous when you’re holding me like this!’

‘Are you nervous because of me?’

‘You know everything right now.’

Estelle’s pink lips pouted out.

‘You’re nervous, so you should stay like this.’

‘Why, why…!’

‘Because I like it when my wife gets nervous because of me.’

Just as John had hoped, Estelle became very candid as soon as she got close to him. But nothing about the woman’s secret could be found out. Still, the moment he felt that it was quite fun, the woman fell asleep with a soft sound. John, who was about to leave the woman behind, became addicted to the soft, warm feeling wrapped in his arms. As he listened to the shallow and even breathing sound of a baby, it seemed that he fell asleep with a cozy scent before he knew it.

‘How can I?’

John’s hard jaw tightened.

‘I can sleep peacefully next to this woman.’

John couldn’t believe that he had been well rested and his body was refreshed. He couldn’t stand himself like that. He didn’t even have a nightmare about the subject of falling asleep hugging the woman he wanted to avenge.

‘I’m finally crazy.’

Originally, he had nightmares of that night every night. In that dream, Duke Blanchett’s house was burned and trampled on every time, and the residents of the duchy were exploited by the Duke of Libertan. Families also appeared in the gruesome appearance of the day. Tortured, screaming in pain, begging for help. And as time passed, the words of the family gradually changed.

‘John, it hurts. I am so sick but why are you the only one fine? Why aren’t you sick?’

‘This mother can’t close her eyes even in the underworld. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to rest until they die, until I see them.’

‘Son, straighten up the Blanchett family and condemn all of its filthy enemies. It is the only way to make amends for our deaths. A most miserable death for them! The most terrible, ugliest and unbearable pain!’

John in the dream was consistently unable to do anything. He just watched them unscathed. It was a cruelly sad dream. But John was happy to dream that dream. Because it was the moment when he could see the faces of his family in that dream. The more he remembered the most terrible moment, the more he would never give up his revenge.

‘But why?’

Estelle was in front of him.

‘Adopted daughter of Libertan.’

Her sleeping face was very lovely. A face as white and soft as if it had been coated with sugar, and detailed and pretty features like a doll. A woman’s beauty was a treasure that Libertan cherished. Otherwise, there could not have been anything as beautiful as the flowers in the greenhouse.

‘This is a variable.’

John reached out and ran his long index finger across the woman’s delicate neck. The sound of breathing could be felt finely along the smooth skin.

“Only you.”

The woman’s neck was so thin that even her hands could be wrapped around it.

“Nothing.”

It won’t be too difficult to break this thin neck. Even with a little effort, this weak woman would die. John slowly wrapped his hand around the woman’s neck and gave it a slight force. He heard the sound of her pulse beating along with the sound of even breathing.

‘Maybe this is a better way for this woman.’

If John’s plan went as planned, the woman would die the most miserable death. Maybe more than the Duke and Duchess of Libertan. But if she were to die now, Estelle could die happily, knowing nothing terrible. Estelle’s delicate white eyelashes trembled, as if she instinctively foresaw her death.

“Ma’am.”

John slowly tightened his hand.

“Goodbye now.”
