The Tyrant Mistook Me for a Companion

TMMC Chapter 86

Chapter 86:

“I’ll assist next to the princess, so please run carefully. If anything happens to you, I’ll be in trouble.”

Janice doesn’t know, but I risked my life here.
If something happens to Janice, not me….
In fact, I felt at ease because even Duke Sen would not be able to move easily if I went around with her.

“Don’t worry about that. I won’t be a burden.”

Janice answered, looking forward only.
Actually, I’m going to be the burden of the princess today.
I felt sorry for a reason, but it was not my fault because it was the emperor who asked me.
I nodded and looked around. At that moment, my eyes met with Leon.
He smiled and stared straight ahead.

‘Is it a relief, though?I have Leon…?’

Even though I practice hard, it’s different that I can rely on him mentally.
Soon after, people started at the sound of gunfire.
I, too, moved leisurely into the woods with Janice.
As I entered the forest, I couldn’t see the people anymore.
Leon, too, quickly disappeared.
What the hell is wrong with you guys working so hard?
I tilted my head.

“His Majesty said he would listen to anything that they want if they won first place this time.”

“……Anything?”

“Yes, so everyone will work hard.”

Janice stared at me, stroking the horse.
Isn’t it quite tempting to hear the word anything. Maybe I can ask for a little too much?
The thought of it made me greedy.

“Lady Elle, I’m a competitive person, so I want to win first place.”

“I’ll try my best.”

I meant it. If you want to win first place, you have to make it.
I’ll drink some soybean water with you.
Even though animals are scary, shouldn’t I try.
I held the reins tightly and gathered my will. I have to stay alert and follow her.

“So let’s move separately from here.”

“What?”

I looked perplexed at the unexpected remark.
Oh, I can’t do this. Duke would move cautiously if I was with the princess.
I was very embarrassed. However, she scratched her head as if it was difficult to hide her expression.

“His Majesty ordered us to stick together.”

I shook my head.

“Even if you say it’s okay, I’ll be in trouble if we get caught later.”

At my words, Janice drove her horse close to me.

“It’s all right. I won’t tell my father anything. Let’s meet here in a little while. That’ll do, won’t it?”

“…Are you sure you don’t mind?”

This is how it works. Otherwise, Janice may have something to do with Duke Sen.
That’s credible.

“Lady Elle. You didn’t forget the power I had, right?”

At Janice’s words, I nodded my head slightly.
What could be dangerous for a woman with the power of a saint?
I had to protect her, but it seems that Janice doesn’t trust me.
I was worried about me, but it seems that Janice is mistaken.

“See you later, then.”

Janice drove her horse into the woods without hesitation.
I stood still and immediately drove to the other side.

Whoosh-

At that moment an arrow flew over and narrowly passed me.
My heart beats fast and instinctively sensed a threat.

“Oh, my God.”

He’s fast, too. I can’t believe he attack me as soon as Janice leaves.
I felt a sharp pain in my wrist, but I grabbed the reins and pulled it quickly.
Looking at the appearance, it seemed that my father’s was with me.
It’s not time to move yet, so I’ll have to act alone.

“Aaaaah!”

I screamed out loud. The wind excite the horse and it’s starts running wild.
I tried to coax my horse out of the space and started running.

“Oh…… My ribbon!”

As I rushed to the wrong side of the road, the ribbon was swept away by vines and leaves, and was torn then fell to the floor.

Whoosh

The arrow flew again.

“Ugh!”

I didn’t have time to think about anything else, so I sped up my horse.
We have to run. Go further and faster.
As soon as I stopped, it was clear that the arrow will stick on me exactly.
Being a bait doesn’t seem to be so difficult.

* * *

Janice looked back.
Since Elle had disappeared, she was nowhere to be seen.

“…She know the way, right? Nothing is going to happen.”

For some reason, she felt uneasy.
However, she did not go after Elle.
What happens to her might be an opportunity for me.

‘What am I thinking right now…….’

Janice tightened her grip on the reins. She immediately turned and ran to the place where Elle disappeared.
Soon after, the blue ribbon tied to Elle’s wrist was caught in a vine and torn.

“…Elle?”

Aaaaaaah!

An urgent scream was heard.
Janice was about to run straight, but soon grabbed the reins and bit her lips tightly.

“There is no blue ribbon. Then Leon will never find her.”

Janice tied the ribbon to her wrist.
If I do this, wouldn’t Leon think of me as Elle?
She was always wearing a blue ribbon when she remembered what only he had recognized.
Yeah, I’d rather just disappear from here.
Without Elle, everything would go as desired.
The factors that drive me into pain will also disappear.
Janice stared ahead blankly for a long time.
Eventually, she turned and ran toward where she was going.

* * *

“…Sir Leon.”

Janice faced Leon shortly afterwards.
His eyes went straight to her wrist. His eyes narrowed when he saw a blue ribbon hanging.

“That ribbon.”

Janice swallowed a dry spit.
Will you consider me as Elle?
I wondered what kind of voice and expression he would make.

“Where did you get it?”

But contrary to her wishes, Leon snatched Janice’s wrist and hardened his expression.
Is he angry?
Why is he angry?
Even though she was wearing the blue ribbon that Elle was wearing, he didn’t mistake her for Elle.
It was obvious.
When Leon saw the torn blue ribbon, his eyes were tense.
A person who was not was wearing Elle’s ribbon on her wrist. That’s also a ruined ribbon.
And this voice was definitely Janice’s.

‘How come the princess.’

At that moment, Leon quickly sensed it.
Duke Sen’s hunt has begun.
Leon asked, grabbing the ribbon in her hand.

“Ugh!”

“Where is Elle?”

“Si, Sir Leon?”

Why is he looking for Elle again with me in front of him.
She shouted, grabbing Leon by the arm.

“How could you!”

“You must have thought I’d mistake you for Elle if you were doing this.”

That was ridiculous.
What are you thinking about to be so shallow.
Desperate and mean are different. No, it wouldn’t be different.
Her eyes were filled with tears.
As our eyes met, my whole body trembled. I couldn’t believe Leon, who showed his life towards her.

“…Why?”

I’m his companion.
It was usually difficult for a companion to express different emotions. It was an instinct and the power of pattern.
But Leon was different.
He was confronting the power of pattern. It’s turning the path of fate.

“Your companion is me!”

Janice cried as she grabbed Leon by the arm. So look at me, save me.

“…I don’t think you’ll tell me.”

I didn’t expect herto part with the princess so soon. Duke Sen would have moved straight away.
Leon shook off Janice’s arm.
He pushed her away despite the pain that penetrated his chest.
He grabbed her and shook off the weeping Janice.

“It is you who are becoming more and more miserable.”

“How long do you think you’ll be able to push me away?”

You won’t be able to.
I was also interested in Delther.
The power of the pattern, whether you want it or not, eventually comes true as designed.
Leon managed to pull off a steady step.
Every time he moved away from Janice, his heart was torn and there was a tremendous pain that penetrated him.

‘Elle, I’ll be right there.’

It was already expected, but when I realize it, I felt impatient.
He clenched his teeth and climbed onto the horse.
His gaze at Janice, who was looking at him with bewildered eyes, was cold.

“If anything happened to Elle, I will not forgive you.”

I will prevent you from getting what you want at all costs.
Even if it has to sacrifice my life.
Leon took out his dagger and moved, stabbing his disobedient body.
Blood flowed, but this level of pain was nothing.
It would be even more terrible if he run late and face it.

* * *

Those persistent guys.
If I ran this much, they might give up thinking that I was quick, but they didn’t give up because they had a clear goal to kill me.
How many volunteers does he have against this slender woman.
I looked around with my tongue out.

“I don’t think other people will get hurt at this rate.”

I purposely ran to a place that was not on the road. Because of that, I think it would appear of being in a state that I wasn’t able to distinguish anhthing from being threatened.
It’s a little over-reacting, but I think it’s safe to say that I was faithful to acting as a bait?

Whoa, whoa.

I slowed down the horse a little and looked at the shadow.
I felt them waiting around. I turned my horse around and saw the assassins running towards me.
He grabbed the bow and fired an arrow straight away.

Whoosh

“Oh my god!”

One hit.
The shadow shot arrows so close that they couldn’t die, so they fell off the horse one by one.

“Argh! Save me!”

I ran deeper into the forest, making an unintended noise again, without them noticing.

    Please update! ❤️

  2. sadbeech says:

Gosh Janice is such a loser. I get her desperation and everything to get out her shitty situation but I can’t stand her forcing herself on Leon and endangering Elle like that. Like even if she were to die—he wouldn’t want you. Get over yourself!!

Thanks for the update : )

  3. Cathe says:

Ha… I was right, I thought Janice would do something related to the ribbon and Leon would be delayed and angry. I’m not glad about being right.
She’s so confused and stupid… I can’t fully hate her nor do I feel any pity anymore 😒 she’s making her own situation worse!
