The Tyrant Mistook Me for a Companion

Chapter 63:

Ring-

People come and go at the Verden Jewelry Shop.

‘Well, I’m glad I told him before, too.’

I was curious about the situation around me, so I secretly went out and saw it, and it was crowded.

I turned around while looking at the jewelry shop with a pretty satisfied face.

I was told to hide, but as long as they didn’t find out that it was me, that was enough.

In addition, with the situation it was not easy to stay in.

Looking at my wrist covered with accessories, I noticed a distinctly clearer pattern than last time.

“Ah….”

The red color, which was the same color as my hair, was more revealing. It was like a parasite that was constantly growing.

As if it wanted to show my existence.

I tried to look away and moved. At that moment, the newspaper caught my eye and held my footsteps.

“Give me a newspaper.”

I put my voice down as much as I could, I bought a newspaper and read it.

[Elle Natashia of the Velois family. Currently missing, the royal family searched everywhere.]

A search in the royal family…….

I think they’re aiming for my neck?

I rubbed my neck, feeling cold. Somehow, I felt like I needed to check.

“Missing, I wonder how Count Edgar will react.”

“I know right……. I didn’t expect the royal family to search together. Aren’t the two of them enemies?”

“Well, I think there’s a lot of hideous things going on these days. As with pattern hunters, the number of missing people increases.”

At the words of the people passing by, I pressed the cloak even deeper.

Since I was in disguise, I didn’t get caught, but I was kind of scared.

At that moment, I saw the appearance of the royal guards. They were checking passersby to make sure that the search was not a lie.

Looks suspicious…

“Wow, I look really suspicious right now.”

Having finished the thought, I turned around immediately and hurried my steps quickly.

“Hey, there.”

I’m not. It won’t be me.

With that in mind, I just looked ahead and moved forward a little faster.

“I mean you with a cape over there.”

“…….”

Stopping for a while, I glanced at them and pointed at me.

“Yes, you who look suspicious. I need you to respond to the inspection for a moment.”

Maybe because I wore a cape, I didn’t look like a noble.

I did put on a slightly shabby cloth, but… I didn’t know they would be so straight forward.

The guards quickly walked towards me, who had stopped.

Looking blankly at them for a moment, I suddenly came to my senses and grabbed my skirt.

“Whoa, it’s her.”

Damn it.

I’d rather not walk around quietly.

Since I’m in disguise, I won’t be revealed right away. they wouldn’t let such a suspicious-looking person go without any questions.

Obviously there will be some blockages.

So there was no answer but to run to death without being caught.

“I’m not a suspicious person!”

I started sprinting like crazy, leaving the word.

Oh, my.

Why are those crazy people so fast?

“Come on, get her! Catch that woman with a cape!”

Another strange thing is that it feels like it’s not just the guards following me.

“Don’t follow me!”

“Stay there! You’re suspicious!”

“It’s not true!”

Oh, I’m going crazy.

I closed my eyes tightly and ran with all my might.

“Argh!”

I crouched down thinking that I was dead now because I felt like someone was snatching me.

“He, help me please.”

“…Elle?”

This voice.

I opened my eyes slowly and found Leon flying with me in his arms.

Am I flying?

“Ahhhh!”

“Shh, it’s hard to hear other people.”

“Why is Leon here? How did you know it was me?”

“I was trying to help a suspicious person because she was being chased, but when I helped her, it was you.”

What nonsense is that?

I looked at Leon with bunny eyes and pursed my lips.

“I think it’s a difficult situation, isn’t it?”

“That’s true…….”

Even if Leon finds me, isn’t it difficult for all of them?

“Leon, what I didn’t say was-“

“We’ll talk about it later. I’m in a bit of a hurry right now.”

“Yup!”

Leon held me in one arm with ease and moved forward a little faster.

Holding in his broad arms, I looked behind me and saw those in black masks following me at a frightening speed.

* * *

“Tell me what happened.”

“It’s… I don’t know. The lady is gone.”

“I’m going crazy.”

Edgar jumped out of his seat and put on his coat.

“Count! Here is an urgent letter.”

“……A letter?”

Edgar narrowed his brows and accepted the letter with the royal seal.

As he slowly opened it, an unfamiliar handwriting caught his eye.

He read the text slowly, trying to contain his boiling anger.

However, the string of reason that remained even a little bit eventually snapped.

“Get the shadow right now.”

“But……”

“I wonder if those words will come out after my daughter’s death.”

Edgar’s words closed the knight’s mouth tightly.

Lord Hessen raised his hand and called out the shadow. Then shadows with red eye patches covering their eyes appeared and bowed their heads.

“Protect Elle’s safety right now. The opponents are the knights of Delther Cabezer.”

“Your grace.”

“I don’t mind killing those who threaten my daughter.”

The shadows put their hands on their chests, nodded, and disappeared.

“Are you sure you don’t mind? Killing is….”

Lord Hessen tilted his head and scratched his head. I know you are angry now, but it was not good to touch the royal Knights.

“It doesn’t matter because they won’t have a single name left if I kill them anyway.”

“Well, that’s true.”

They were also hidden and moving beings, so no one would be known.

“Let’s go to the royal palace.”

“What? Right now?”

“Yes, I’ve been invited, so I’ll have to comply.”

Edgar showed Lord Hessen the letter he had received.

[Count Edgar De Velois

I want you to burn one of the letters I am sending now as soon as you read it.

Currently, Prince Delter Cabezer is looking for Elle Natashia. I am writing to you urgently because her life is in danger.]

[Count Edgar De Velois

Thank you so much for the last invitation that I would like to treat you to a cup of tea in return.

If you have time today, please come to my annex and I will welcome you.]

Lord Hessen read two Letters and immediately burned the first letter in a blazing candle.

“I didn’t expect Princess Janice to help us.”

“Well, if she was really going to help, she would have told Leon, not me, straight away.”

Edgar’s behaviour was very vague.

“I’ll get the carriage ready right away. I’ll let you know when the shadows return, so take care of yourself.”

Edgar nodded lightly at Hessen’s words.

* * *

Did they leave me out?

I trembled uneasily in Leon’s arms.

He gently swept my back and calmed me down.

“It’s okay. Close your eyes for a moment.”

“What?”

“Wait a minute.”

Leon grabbed my hand, covered my ears, and smiled. Then he covered my eyes with his hands and whispered in my ear.

“Just wait here a little bit like this. Harmful things are better not to look at.”

What do you mean by harmful?

I wanted to ask him, but I felt the warmth in front of me gone and closed my mouth.

It looked like he was going to leave my side and do something.

“What-!”

“Argh!”

There was a series of brief screams in my muffled ears. My fear doubled because I couldn’t see it.

I crouched down, trying to stay calm, and muttered quietly.

“It’s all right, it’s alright. It’s not a big deal.”

Leon said it would take a while.

“One… two… two… Three… Four… five…….”

How long is that? 1 minute? 10 minutes? Or an hour?

All sorts of miscellaneous thoughts made my head dizzy. Nevertheless, I gave a lot of strength to the hand covering my ears.

“Thirty… thirty one…….”

I kept spitting out numbers with my mouth. I thought that the anxiety would go away.

“Oh, it took longer than I thought.”

And in less than a minute Leon came before me. A hand that felt warm on my body took my hand and took it off my ear.

“I found you.”

“……I know.”

“I told you. I’ll find you wherever you go.”

Leon’s red eyes folded in a line.

Swoosh

He caressed my cheek with his finger, narrowed his brow, and took out a handkerchief.

Something that might be sweat or tears flowed down my face.

Leon wiped it off casually and got up from his seat and reached out to me.

“It’s no use hiding now.”

“What?”

“Your face, your voice, your body scent, I memorized everything about you.”

I stared at the hand that stuck out to me.

Can I grab this? Can I… can I?

My shaky gaze reached Leon’s hand and soon slowly went up.

“It’s no use refusing, because you’ve already been imprinted deep in my heart.”

Leon’s hand wrapped around my waist and lifted me lightly. I gasped and stopped breathing in an instant.

“If you want to run away, run away.”

Leon’s face, which came about a mile away, made my heart beat violently.

“But are you still going to push me away?”

Leon’s head tilted at an angle and his breath suddenly touched me.

“……Actually, it was you who I wanted to kiss.”

Leon lowered his eyes and stared at my lips.

My mouth burned at the blatant and bizarre gaze.

  1. Nony says:

Things are falling into place (or falling apart?). I hope Elle gets the happiness she deserves.

  2. Cathe says:

Why did her father made her hide? I still don’t understand why do that… to protect her from her “companion”? But inside her own house wouldn’t be much more safe?
