The Tyrant Mistook Me for a Companion

Chapter 52:

I was nervous. What if it didn’t come out as much as I thought?

Then I think it would be a waste of money.

I chewed my nails. There is a banquet tomorrow.

I was going to showcase my stuff there, so it had to come out perfectly.

“Calm down.”

“But I’m nervous. It cost a lot of money.”

“Lady Elle. That kind of money is nothing to the Velois family.”

“Is that so?”

But money is money. It would still be a waste.

Edgar wakes up and has it like this? He might nag me.

“If you’re the lady, you’ll do well.”

“I don’t know where that belief came from.”

“Well, I watched and saw it.”

Looking at Lord Hessen, he seemed sincere. I smiled awkwardly at the unshakable straight eyes.

‘if this really doesn’t work out, it’s going to be a disaster.’

It wasn’t such a difficult process, but it’s going to be successful only if it attracts enough people’s attention.

Who would have thought. Accessories to cover the pattern.

In the meantime, the pattern was not meant to be covered. Everyone had no hesitation in revealing, and they were delighted to know that they have companions.

So this product will be quite controversial.

Just in time, I arrived at the Verden Jewellery Shop and got off the carriage with a grim look on my face.

“Relax your expression. Doesn’t it show that you’re nervous?”

“Really? Huuu…….”

I took my breath and raised my head.

Last time we met, we talked about accessories, and this was the second time we met.

An accessory master who is also famous in the Empire.

I’m not doubting what he’s going to make. I felt uneasy because it was my first attempt.

I walked slowly to the jewellery shop.

Ring.

A cheerful sound and colourful ornaments welcomed me.

At a glance, there were many accessories that needed delicate work.

‘That’s why it was quite expensive.’

I knew that, so I left it to Verden to produce it.

“Oh! You’re here?””

Verden, who was wearing glasses, smiled broadly when he found me.

His expression shows that the product came out well.

‘Wow, I feel like I’ve lost 10 years.’

I looked relaxed as if I wasn’t worried.

“It’s ready. Please come this way.”

As I approached Verden, he led me inward.

Following him revealed a secret space. I thought it was a small store, but it doesn’t seem like it.

It seems like a place to work, but for that, it’s quite fancy?

Looking around, I sat on the sofa and saw Verden.

He smiled with satisfaction and came with a box.

“I don’t know if it came out the way you wanted it to, but…….”

Verden put it down on the table and opened the lid.

My eyes were drawn to the design I had never seen before.

It was made of colourful chains and jewels, wrapped around the wrist, and was soon connected to a finger ring to secure it.

“I think you can say that the gentleman’s version is without jewelry. I think it would be okay to make it from leather.”

Verden’s words made me nod.

It came out much better than I imagined.

Considering the aristocrats who wear gloves, I don’t think there’s much resistance to these accessories.

“Try wearing it.”

I took off my gloves and tried them on carefully.

The fit wasn’t as bad as I thought. If you think it’s only used when going outside, this much was considered.

“What do you think?”

“Well, I think it depends on how it goes at the banquet.”

“Only a limited quantity, please. I’ll change my style every season.”

“Yes?”

“What do you think? I don’t think it’ll be bad for the Verden Jewellery Shop either. I’ll give you 10% of the sales.”

“10%?”

“Yes, 10% excluding production costs.”

Verden’s eyes opened at my words. I was only going to pay for the production.

If the business was successful, the price would be fine.

“I am with Velois.”

He didn’t have a single worry. I took out the contract I prepared.

“If you sign here, we’ll be partners from today.”

What I put in was a confidentiality pledge. Keeping a secret about the product.

Since it is a fast-paced society, they often copy hit products.

The more they do that, the more valuable my product will be.

We will provide you with a much better design and product than the products that follow.

It was possible if it was Verden.

He was a craftsman who would become more famous. That’s why I asked him to do it.

“It’s definitely pretty.”

I looked at the wrist. It was not expected how it would be covered because there was no pattern.

“Oh, is there a pen or something I can draw?”

“Here you are.”

Of all things, red. Well, it doesn’t matter?

I drew the moon on my wrist without the accessories.

“My Lady?”

“Let’s see if it can cover a pattern.”

I didn’t feel good because it was red, but I didn’t have a choice.

I’ve been drawing for a while, but what’s the big deal?

“Well, that looks pretty good, doesn’t it? I think it’s covered.”

“It’s more decent than I thought.”

Lord Hessen nodded.

“With a little more variation, you can add a gemstone or something like that that can be matched like a couple, and you can sell it in pairs.”

“Yes?”

“Like a couple items. Even if men say no, women can buy it, right?”

It’s perfect to sell two together.

“First of all, this came out as a sample, so I’ll try it on as a demonstration.”

“Yes, My Lady.”

“I’ll send you a letter for the next order. Oh, I’ll get some more samples tomorrow.”

I left the Verden Jewellery shop with joy.

On our way back to the mansion in a carriage, Lord Hessen inquired.

“Lady, will you be alright?”

“What?”

“I mean, Sir Leon. Can we really trust him…….”

“Sir Hessen.”

I stared straight at Lord Hessen. It wasn’t that I didn’t know what he was worried about.

“It must be because the Count did something to Leon, right?”

“……My Lady.”

“Don’t worry, Leon is not that kind of person who has that in mind.”

He wouldn’t have done me a favour in the first place.

“But I don’t believe him.”

“We’re on our way back to the old house, so you can go and check it out.”

“Alright, but if anything happens to the count…….”

“Well, then I’ll take care of it.”

I am well aware of what Lord Hessen is worried about.

I don’t even know what I can do with Leon.

No, I might not be able to do anything.

Still, I didn’t want anyone else to doubt Leon.

It’s not easy to set foot in a place where you’ve been kicked out.

“But, My Lady”

“Stop, that’s it. Don’t insult Leon anymore.”

I raised my hand to stop Hessen from speaking.

“It’s no use talking about each other, right?”

“……Yes, My Lady.”

Only then did Hessen shut up.

Arriving at the mansion, Hessen and I sighed.

“Straighten your face.”

“It’s dark, too, my lady.”

“This is because of Lord Hessen. Stop and go in.”

“……Yes.”

I tossed the box at Lord Hessen’s chest.

The two of us headed straight to Edgar’s room. He’ll feel better if I let him check.

‘Lion must be tired, too. Did he take a break?’

Healing as soon as you get back from the battlefield.

I asked for a favour, but I didn’t feel at ease. I hate it, but it’s my bloodline.

I felt guilty for not being considerate of Leon.

The more I headed to the room where Edgar was asleep, the heavier I felt.

Should I go check with Leon first to see if he’s okay?

However, I thought it would be comfortable to clear Lord Hessen’s doubts first.

Otherwise, he will continue to doubt Leon.

We stopped in front of Edgar’s room.

Knock, knock, knock.

There was no sign of movement when I knocked on the door.

“I’ll go in first.”

Lord Hessen opened the door and nodded to me.

It seems that someone’s intrusion cannot be ruled out. It’s because he’s so suspicious.

“Why don’t you increase the security at the mansion?”

“I will do so.”

As the door opened and entered with Hessen, I saw Edgar, who was asleep, and Leon, who lay down beside him.

“Sir Leon.”

“Shh.”

I said with my index finger on my lips.

Slowly, I approached Leon and leaned down.

“……He fell asleep.”

He must have been very tired.

He fell into a deep sleep and didn’t wake up even when I approached.

For a moment Edgar’s brow flinched.

“……Father?”

Did he just move? I blinked again.

“Sir Hessen, it seems that Ed, no, my father, moved in a moment.”

“Yes? Is that true?”

Lord Hessen quickly approached and examined Edgar.

“I’ll get the doctor right away.”

“Yes, go on.”

I sat on the bed and held my father’s hand. There was definitely a tremor earlier.

Did it really work?

I didn’t believe it, but if it’s true……. It was that Leon’s power had completely appeared.

Leaning on the bed, I stared at Leon, who was sleeping.

Slowly sweeping over his hair, his eyebrows flinched slightly.

“Thank you, Leon.”

I really shouldn’t be greedy now.

Without realizing it, a bitter smile rose.

  1. Cathe says:

Ha it’s obvious to me that Leon will see the red drawing and believe her pattern appeared… what’s a romance story without misunderstandings, right? 😅
I hope he won’t go on killing everyone with a red pattern… although it’s quite possible…
