The Tyrant Mistook Me for a Companion

Chapter 48:

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect the crown prince to follow me this far.”

“No, I think I chose the wrong place.”

I couldn’t raise my face when we were in the carriage together.

“I think it’s better to set the place in the mansion from now on.”

“I’ll do that. Well, isn’t that a good thing in a way?”

“What?”

“There’s nothing strange about being together if he looks at us as a lover.”

“Oh…!”

Fortunately, it wasn’t a bad move.

“Then shall we talk about work?”

“Yes, what information do you want?”

“It’s very valuable information, so I’ll pay you a lot.”

I swallowed my dry saliva and nodded.

Whatever it is, we have to figure it out. And I had great sources.

“Please find out who killed those with patterns.”

“……it may take a long time.”

I still haven’t figured this out. It was more like that because I suddenly went underwater.

“I don’t care.”

Duke Sen shrugged his shoulders. If it doesn’t matter how long, I don’t have to say no.

“Okay. I’ll send the contract to the mansion soon.”

I grinned at Duke Sen

He was a valuable guest, so there was no harm in getting along well.

* * *

“Are you okay?”

Leon fell asleep looking at his injured body.

“You don’t have to make a fuss.”

“But you’ve been hurt a lot.”

Sigh, I can’t do this to her.

Leon didn’t want to delay here any longer.

The clearer the pattern was, the more confused his mind was.

“Janice.”

“What? Uh, now…….”

Did he call my name?

Janice opened her eyes in amazement.

“Didn’t you listen when I said not to come near me?”

“I’m treating you.”

“You don’t have to, ugh.”

I felt dizzy.

I thought I could hear her tinnitus, but Janice’s appearance in front of me was blurred.

‘Ha, damn it again…….’

Will I be engulfed by the pattern again?

I’ve been feeling like this happens a lot lately.

So I was trying to distance myself from Janice.

“Look at you!”

“Ha……. Janice.”

Leon recited a low note.

Even if I hit my thigh hard, my mouth wouldn’t stop.

“You, my…….”

Damn it, stop it. Knock it off.

Janice backed away at his struggle.

Leon seized his breath, clenching the bracelet on his wrist.

“Okay, I’ll go. But if it hurts, you have to tell me.”

It was only when Janice disappeared from view that he felt more relaxed.

“Ha, ha. Damn!”

At this rate, I’ll really forget Elle.

I was in a hurry.

Leon looked at the pattern on his wrist.

The pattern, which became darker than the first, was clearly gold.

“No, no…….”

I was engulfed in despair and my reason was clouded.

It was suffocating and difficult to come to my senses.

I couldn’t get away from it. It was like a shackle that tied me up.

“Elle, I don’t think I can do it anymore.”

Leon’s eyes were filled with color. I wanted to finish this before I was no longer myself.

I wanted to see Elle again and capture her when he was a little better.

Because Elle was the only one he loved.

Twenty-two strong auras appeared around Leon’s body.

He soon led his cleared body out of the barracks.

* * *

Leon stared at the blood on his hand.

He invaded the enemy camp alone, killed everyone, and secretly returned to the barracks during the night.

Fortunately, no one found him.

“Sir Leon?”

For a moment, Leon’s body moved reflexively due to the person calling his name.

“Oh my god!”

Janice, who was caught by the neck and trembled, caught his eye.

“Janice? Why are you here?”

“That’s… I was worried, so I just came to check your condition for a while.”

Janice’s eyes grew bigger and bigger.

Leon’s heart beat violently at the deep wounds and bloodstains seen on his body.

“Are you okay? The blood!”

“Be quiet. If you don’t want to let others know.”

Janice nodded straight away.

He reached out and began to heal Leon’s wounds.

Leon finally let Janice go.

I know Janice. Did I see her……?

Leon’s eyes shook loudly.

How can I recognize someone other than Elle at once?

Really? Because of that sickening pattern?

I felt like I was falling down there again. Even though I struggled, it was in place.

“Huh…”

Janice, while healing Leon’s wound, found a blurred pattern on his wrist.

The bracelet that he always wears.

‘This is the same as me… … It looks like a pattern.’

No way. I don’t think so.

Then Leon wouldn’t have come out hostile to me.

‘I’m checking again.’

Janice again moved her hand to Leon’s wrist as she treated it.

She doesn’t know what’s going on, but he was a little distracted.

“Is it because he got hurt a lot?”

But he didn’t mind these wounds.

As soon as she was about to look at his wrist again, Leon caught Janice’s hand.

“What are you doing?”

“Oh! I’m sorry!”

“I’ll take care of it.”

“Are you okay? You don’t look good.”

“It’s all right, so go to your barracks.”

Janice grasped the hem of her dress. The pattern on the wrist was not mistaken.

“I saw it.”

“What do you mean?”

“The pattern on your wrist.”

“What does that have to do with you?”

Leon’s eyes suddenly turned violent.

Janice closed her lips tightly.

‘Yes, my companion wouldn’t be like this.’

She tried hard to smile.

“No. I was just curious because the patterns are showing up these days.”

“Please leave me alone. Because I’ll be back in the Empire by tomorrow.”

“Going back?”

The war isn’t over yet. By what means?

Janice blinked at Leon’s words.

Besides, Delther will visit here soon.

It was also before the end of the war.

But why is Leon talking as if it’s over.

Janice’s curiosity rose again.

“By any chance, ah…. You won’t answer me if I ask you, will you?”

Leon lightly ignored Janice’s words.

He just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.

It was hard for him to think completely because she was in front of him.

Leon grabbed Janice by the wrist and dragged her out of the barracks.

“Please, go to where you are from.”

“Sir Leon…”

“Don’t call my name like that.”

Contrary to my heart, I hated the beating heart.

She won’t know. How I’m facing Janice.

He endured the desire to kill again and again.

“I resent you and hate you. It feels terrible, please get out of my sight.”

Janice’s eyes were filled with tears at Leon’s words.

“Did you have to say that?”

Why is he so harsh to me? The only person I knew here was Leon.

“Okay, I won’t bother you anymore.”

However, I had no intention of backing down.

If you’re really my companion, the only way to get me out of it is hell.

Janice clenched her fists as she left Leon’s barracks.

‘The war is over. My freedom has come to an end…….’

I had to go back to the palace again. I didn’t want to die for that.

* * *

“Everyone, Commander!”

The sun rose and it was noisy.

Everyone had confused eyes, but Leon calmly left the barracks.

“The enemy last night….”

“I don’t know what the hell it was.”

“It’s called annihilation. The soldier looked around and saw no one. However, there is a man of great power left…….”

“How am I supposed to report this to the superior?”

I couldn’t just be happy.

It was hard to say that they won because they did not fight and win.

“First of all, Your Highness the Crown Prince is supposed to come today, so I’m on standby.”

“Since the enemy is wiped out, can’t we go back to the empire now?”

Let’s see, was that outfit the groom?

Leon turned and put his hand on his waist and said to the captain.

Then the general manager’s eyes opened wide.

I can’t believe this guy who doesn’t even get involved in this kind of thing reacts to the news that it’s going to end.

“Oh, yes, you might know. I heard that there are signs of magic use. Is there anything you can tell?”

He stared at Leon.

Did he notice something?

Leon smoothed his chin with a suspicious stare.

Then it’s a problem. I glanced at Janice. She was staring at me, too.

‘I don’t think she will open her mouth.’

Leon scratched his head and shrugged his shoulders.

“I don’t know. Isn’t that a good thing?”

I think it’s getting on the wrong side of the stick. I was in trouble if he noticed.

Because I can’t kill everyone here.

The crown prince is coming? Then it would be quick to go back to the empire.

“Well… it’s not good to have such a monster. It’s quite difficult.”

Leon’s eyebrows fluttered at the word monster.

“It’s a monster. I thought you’d be happy, but I don’t think so.”

“I heard he killed it quite brutally. Does our wizard really know nothing?”

“Do you mean I attacked the enemy’s camp alone last night and killed the enemy and came back again?”

The leader, who was staring straight into Leon’s eyes, avoided his eyes.

‘I got goosebumps.’

He gives off a mysterious atmosphere.

It was awkward to face him.

He was not interested in anyone else, and above all, he did not come forward except for war.

“All right, Commander! I think you should come for a moment.”

The Commander’s head turned to the urgent cry.

Leon’s expression turned calm at the gaze that fell from him.

“What’s going on?”

“Oh, everyone seems to be making a fuss, so I came here right away.”

Delther tilted his head at the soldiers gathered.

“Why is everyone so confused during the war?”

“That, that.”

The leader rolled his head and tried to come up with an answer.

“Where is Princess Janice?”

“Oh, I’ll bring her!”

At the Commander’s gesture, the soldiers rushed to bring Princess Janice.

“Well, Your Highness, you are here. I didn’t expect you to come early.”

Janice smiled awkwardly and welcomed Delther.

Then a face popped out from behind Delther.

“Long time no see. Princess Janice.”

“Huh? Lady Elle?”

Janice’s eyes opened wide at the unexpected visit.

And as soon as the name “Elle” was heard, Leon’s head turned itself.

There was really the image of Elle who came with Delther.

  1. Nova says:

I feel sorry for Leon, It must have been really nauseating to have felt an unwanted emotion from someone you know you don’t want in the first place.

I like this story so far even though it’s very hard to understand at times because of some translation issues. Even then, it’s very refreshing to read a story where you could really see/read the struggle of someone going against fate of this kind. It always puts me at the edge of my seat on how Leon would counter this pattern of his.

    Ty for the tl!

Oohh I wasn’t expecting these to happen, how interesting developments!
