Chapter 110:
The music played, and Leon and I danced hand in hand.
I was anxious on one side of my mind, but I still didn’t want to miss this time.
“Leon, you have to be patient no matter what happens later.”
“…I was going to say it first.”
Don’t tell me we’re both thinking the same thing.
I got anxious and pulled Leon then whispered in his ear.
“You can’t run rampant. It’s dangerous to reveal your identity.”
“I know. Don’t worry.”
Leon smiled lightly, his ears tickled.
“Be gentle with others…. No. You don’t have to.”
I know that the eyes of the young ladies would fall even if he didn’t.
The dance with Leon is over.
Unfortunately, it was a law to take turns dancing, so I had to let him go.
Next up is…My God.
It’s the crown prince!
I rolled my eyes to find a way out.
However, I was forced to hold the crown prince’s hand because it looked like I was taking it out with anyone’s eyes.
“It looks like you gave up trying to figure out how to get out.”
“Well, yes.”
At my blunt reply, Delther sneered at me.
“I am not surprised anymore. You make things endless.”
“Isn’t that a good thing for your Highness? Did you really think that the princess only prepared for the appointment of the saintess today?”
“No way. She made a deal with my father.”
“I stopped it. Shouldn’t you rather be grateful?”
“That’s funny.”
Delther’s expression turned stern. I gently stepped on his foot without missing a break.
“Oh, I made a mistake.”
“You better not scratch my nerves.”
“It’s a mistake. Your Highness forgives me, right?”
I stared at Delther with a big smile. I’m a little scared, so I’ll stay away for a while.
“The music is over. Can you please let me go?”
I was still tied to the spot by Delther, who still did not let go of my hand.
“I mean it, Lady. I hate people who get on my nerves.”
Who likes it.
I nodded.
“So don’t scratch my nerves.”
“I’ll try.”
I grabbed his hand and pulled it off because he didn’t seem to be able to communicate.
Why are you giving so much power? It hurts.
Delther looked absurd as he saw that my hand had fallen off.
“…Did you take it off just now?”
“The music is over, so we need to change partners.”
Before I was caught again, I quickly get away from him.
I didn’t feel like dancing anymore, so I headed to the terrace.
* * *
Leon was anxious when Elle suddenly was nowhere to be seen.
‘Where did she go again?’
She must have been dancing with Delther earlier. Whatever the two of them were talking about, it probably wasn’t a very good conversation.
After Elle’s engagement with me aas announced, Janice’s cold expression came to mind.
He think he’ll feel at ease when he’s with Elle.
Leon immediately turned to find Elle.
But he was stopped by a hand holding his wrist.
“Sir Leon, it’s your turn to dance with me.”
“…Can’t I refuse?”
“You will have a hard time. Because it’s my first dance.”
Come to think of it, Princess Janice was not dancing all the time.
Did she wait to dance with him?
How can she point him out as her first dance partner so that he can’t even say no.
“I don’t think I can either.”
Leon refused again, because finding Elle was the priority.
But Janice didn’t step aside.
“Think carefully, if you just go like this, it will get Lady Elle in trouble.”
Leon had no choice but to hold Janice’s hand.
He bit his lip even harder at the emotions that kept coming out even though he tried to suppress his heart.
He could feel the fishy taste of blood, but he didn’t stop.
“If you try to go against it, you will get sick.”
Janice looked at Leon’s lips with a sad expression on her face.
Still, his red lips looked even redder as they soaked in blood.
“Are you going to kill me?”
“If necessary.”
“You’re cruel. How can you say that to your companion?”
She had a wounded face, but her voice was cold.
Perhaps today’s events has changed her mind. That’s what Leon wanted.
“If you want to leave the royal family, do it on your own. Don’t think of leaning on me.”
Elle climbed up on her own from beginning to end.
In order not to die at Edgar’s hand, and to become independent. She reach to this place after going through a lot of trial and error.
But what is Janice doing.
Isn’t she tried to solve something by relying on her companion and leaning on him.
That was a pity.
“A person’s heart is not obtained just by wanting it.”
Leon has unleashed his magic so as not to be distracted by Janice again.
The veins popped up and he was suffocated, but he held it in.
He quickly felt too much because it was a work of overusing his body over and over again.
And yet he didn’t stop.
He was able to treat Janice with his whole mind when it was going crazy.
“How…is that possible?”
Janice was confused. Why doesn’t Leon shake even though he has a companion symbol?
There was no affection in the way he looked at her.
Rather, her heart warmed up even more at the gaze of Delther, who was staring at her.
“No way.”
Is it the magic coming out of Leon’s body that’s feeling strong?
It was a ridiculous amount. If he keep going, his body can not endure and break.
“Stop it!”
“I will protect either me or Elle from you.”
Janice’s heart was broken again by Leon’s words.
“…I envy you that kind of heart. I want it.”
Absolute obedience, and absolute commitment.
An unquestioned mind.
She was envious. Janice wanted to have someone like Leon.
So she got greedy.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to back down either.”
Janice embraced Leon and amplified her strength.
“You got caught.”
Leon’s black eyes were red and his focus began to blur.
Delther, who was looking at it all, went straight to find Elle.
If he don’t stop Leon now, Janice was in danger.
Others are not feeling it, but he has noticed that Janice is in danger as a companion.
She was doing something forcefully.
It’s probably to infuse her power to distract Leon’s mind.
Delther then headed towards the curtained terrace.
* * *
“Oh, it’s much better.”
I looked at the garden and caught my breath.
I wasn’t going to come out as far as the terrace, but there was no place to rest.
My father’s shadow will be looking at me, so everything will be fine.
I was relieved that I also had the power.
Given that the music continues to play, it seems that the dance is still not over.
“Will Leon be okay?”
I was worried, but I think it’s okay because he held out well.
We still have a long way to go before the banquet ends, so we must not relax.
After taking a short breath, I had to enter the banquet hall.
My father will be here too, and I’ll be worried if I don’t see him.
I got up from my seat and brushed my dress.
“There you are.”
But soon after, the curtain was opened and the whole plan fell apart.
“…Your Highness.”
This is difficult.
It was a very, very difficult situation.
Isn’t this scene very much alike to my death.
As expected, it would have been better to be in the banquet hall even if I was just beaten by people.
“There was a curtain down, but you came in. Your Highness seems to have forgotten the basic manners.”
“Did I come here without knowing?”
He pulled out his sword without changing his expression.
“It’s worse if you’ve known. From what you got in your hand, I can see the situation is bad.”
My mouth was burning, but I responded peacefully.
The blue sword wrapped around his waist kept stepping on my eyes.
It may not have been for this day, but how could it be so shiny?
Is Delther trying to harm me here and now?
I wondered why it led him to be so inconsolable.
“If you try to kill me here now, the royal family will be in trouble.”
“I don’t care.”
Delther picked up his sword and pointed it at my neck.
“Will there be any difference if I kill you?”
“A lot changes. I’m not who I used to be.”
I could feel the pain of the sharp sword pressing down on my skin.
I hurriedly raised my hand to block the shadow.
If they intervene, the offer of the deal is also thwarted.
“Your Highness, don’t you want to be an emperor?”
“You must be frightened, seeing you say useless things.”
“The royal family is already rotten to the core. You may not know that.”
“…Do you really want to die?”
“You’re going to kill me anyway.”
“Ha.”
Even in this situation, I would be ridiculous to be confident.
However, I thought of this scene many times. While working on measures to get out of this situation.
“Do you know what His Majesty did to Janice’s mother?”
I’m sure you don’t know.
And he know what kind of relationship she have with me.
“I think the story will change a little if your highness becomes the emperor.”
“Do you know what you’re talking about now?”
“I know, but I don’t think there’s anything that the dead can’t say. Her highness is gathering her power.”
“…Janice?”
“Yes, maybe she’s thinking of driving away the emperor and his highness.”
“But, Janice is a saint.”
“Being a saint doesn’t mean you can’t become an emperor. Rather, she’ll have two powers, so she’ll be stronger.”
Delther didn’t look like he wanted to believe.
However, the power of the sword has been relieved a little.
“I have no intention of harming Princess Janice. But I don’t want her to put her shackles on Leon.”
“So?”
“So let’s find a way to make everyone happy. We’re victims anyway.”
Because everything that the emperor did was wrong.
It was the responsibility of the emperor alone.
At my words, Delther’s eyes fluttered violently.
I smiled as he pushed the blade out of his hand.
“It would be a good deal.”
He was still guilty of asking, but he was an ally until we drove out the same enemy.
I’m so angry at Janice! And why the hell did Elle go to the terrace, without Leon and Edgar knowing, when she knows well of the situation?! 😩🤦🏻♀️ And why is he attacking her out of nowhere?! Like, what’s his motivation now?? And so publicly too!! 🤯😵🤬
