At night, Shang You and the others had already gone back, and after dinner, Wei’an was being carried on his brother’s back for digestion.
Quan Fan carried Wei’an, walking slowly in circles on the lawn. The restlessness in his heart finally began to calm down.
Ever since he found out that Wei’an had gotten injured without his knowledge, he had been feeling an overwhelming sense of anxiety and violence. The urge to rush back and stay by Wei’an’s side was so strong that he couldn’t endure it for even a second.
“Brother.” Wei’an wrapped his small hands around his brother’s neck, lifting himself to whisper in his ear.
“Hmm?”
“I’ll tell you a secret, Wei’an came back because he missed brother.”
Quan Fan turned his head to look at the little head resting on his shoulder, his dark green eyes indifferent. “I thought you came back because you heard that Quan Yu is about to break out of his shell.”
“I did hear that my younger brother is about to hatch, but I also missed my brother, so I came back,” Wei’an said seriously, counting on his small fingers.
Quan Fan gave him a shake upward. “Hold on tight, or you’ll fall.”
After obediently securing his grip, Wei’an rested his head again to look at Quan Fan’s expression. “Brother, don’t you believe me?”
“I believe you,” Quan Fan replied.
He calls him three times a day during meals, like clockwork—there’s no way not to believe him.
“Hehe.” Wei’an, satisfied, gave his brother a quick kiss on the cheek, then kicked his little legs happily.
Seeing Wei’an so happy, even Quan Fan felt a bit of joy sprout in his heart.
The weight on his back wasn’t heavy, but that small bundle seemed to weigh on his heart in the best possible way. He thought that maybe he could carry him for a long time, until he grew up and no longer needed him.
Suddenly, Quan Fan’s eyes turned sharp as he looked back, immediately catching sight of Quan Yan(the second brother), who had been standing not far away for who knows how long.
Catching Quan Fan’s attention, Quan Yan smiled and approached, praising, “Good alertness.”
“Brother!” Wei’an, excitedly sitting up on Quan Fan’s back, hadn’t seen Quan Yan in a long time and couldn’t wait to throw himself into his arms. “Hug!”
Quan Yan took him off Quan Fan’s back and held him close, inhaling deeply from his shoulder. Along with the familiar scent of milk, there was a sharp medicinal smell, which left Quan Yan slightly displeased.
He raised his hand to pinch Wei’an’s cheek. “I heard you got into a fight with other male cubs?”
Wei’an, embarrassed, covered his face with his little hands and admitted obediently, “I did.”
Quan Yan’s dark green eyes, bloodshot from rushing over and not resting properly, showed concern. “Tomorrow, I’ll have Quan Fan teach you how to fight. Winning or losing doesn’t matter, but you should at least know how to avoid getting hurt.”
“Fighting is bad,” Wei’an shook his head.
Amused, Quan Yan ruffled his hair. “You even know that fighting is bad?”
“Of course!” Wei’an leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, then offered his own injured cheek. “Kiss me too.”
Defeated by his little brother’s antics, Quan Yan pressed a hard kiss to Wei’an’s chubby cheek.
Wei’an, with his head tilted from the forceful kiss, touched his face in confusion.
He slid off Quan Yan’s lap and grabbed Quan Fan’s clothes, rising onto his tiptoes to offer the other side of his face. “Kiss me too,” he added, “but gently.”
It seemed that Quan Yan’s earlier kiss had left quite an impression on him.
Quan Fan glanced at his second brother, who wore a gentle expression, and awkwardly turned his head away, refusing to kiss him.
Seeing this, Wei’an grew anxious, chasing after him and jumping up for a kiss.
In the end, Quan Fan gave in to Wei’an’s pleading and whining, reluctantly giving him a kiss. With that success, Wei’an’s eyes squinted in joy as Quan Yan chuckled and whisked him away.
In the bathroom, since Wei’an couldn’t bathe due to his injuries, he sat on a stool in his underwear, waiting for his brother to wipe him down.
His small, soft body was white with a hint of pink, really like a small dumpling made of jade.
“Giggle… itchy… Brother, it tickles~” Wei’an laughed, dodging his brother’s hands as they wiped him.
With a smile, Quan Yan held the squirming child still, stopping him from hopping off the stool. “Stay still.”
“It tickles~”
“If it tickles, I’ll use a bit more force, and it won’t tickle anymore,” Quan Yan said, applying a bit more pressure.
Finding it less ticklish, Wei’an finally stayed still.
After a while, Wei’an lifted his little foot. “Brother, I can spread my toes like this. Can you?”
Quan Yan glanced at his spread toes, thinking that if he said yes, Wei’an would undoubtedly pester him to show it.
“No, I can’t,” he replied directly.
Wei’an immediately smiled happily, “Wei’an can~”
“Yeah, it’s amazing.” Quan Yan said, indulging him while drying his hair. After dressing him in his pajamas, he prepared to carry his little brother to bed. But as he turned, he bumped into Alhandra.
Arriving right on time, Alhandra took Wei’an from his arms and turned to leave, leaving behind three words: “Thanks for your help.”
Watching his empty arms, Quan Yan sighed in regret. He’d rarely had the chance to steal away this little dumpling to sleep with him, but once again, it didn’t work out.
Here, Alhandra had just hugged Wei’an and was about to go to bed when an emergency message came through.
After receiving the message, his expression was a little complicated. Shalou Kuer, who fought with Wei’an this morning, was ill and showed signs of death. All the males from Kato had already left.
Perhaps because they were all males, he knew clearly what they would face when they grew up, so even though he was very angry about what happened in the morning, he still asked Wei’an, who was lying on the bed and playing with his little feet, “This morning, the male cub you were fighting with is sick. Do you want to see him?”
When Wei’an heard this, his face wrinkled and he shook his head, “No,”
Alhandra nodded after getting the answer. Although he knew that the little male cub had a higher chance of surviving if Wei’an went there, he wouldn’t force Wei’an to do something like that if he didn’t want to.
Wei’an is his only selfish concern, and he will always be selfish when it comes to him.
He told Wei’an that he was going out for a while and asked him to go to bed first.
Hearing that male father was about to go out, Wei’an sat up from the bed, opened his blue eyes and said in a sweet voice, “Male father, be careful.”
Alhandra smiled and felt warm in his heart, “Okay.”
When he packed up and opened the door to go out, Wei’an’s little hesitant voice came from behind him, “Is he seriously ill?”
“Yes, very serious.”
When he heard that he was seriously ill, Wei ‘an’s eyes widened. In his little mind, being seriously ill meant being in pain.
Although he hated Shalou Kuer, he was already in a lot of pain. And Wei’an was a little curious about what it was like to be seriously ill.
He raised his little hand to show a small distance, and said a little awkwardly, “Wei’an just go and take a look.”
Alhandra smiled and stepped forward to hug him, “Okay, let’s go and take a look. ”
No matter what, the male cub is very important to the Zerg, and the best result is not to lose it.
When they came out, they met Papar Xing waiting in the corridor.
Papar Xing smiled after seeing Wei’an, “Aren’t you angry with him?”
“Hmph, angry.” Wei’an puffed out his cheeks and hugged his male father’s neck and snorted heavily to express his anger.
That cute expression made Papar Xing smile.

When they arrived at Shalou Kuer’s house, the menacing male cub in the morning was already lying on the bed dying. His originally healthy face looked extremely pale. If his chest were not still rising and falling slightly, he would really look like he was dead.
Seeing this scene, Wei’an tightened his grip on his male father’s clothes and asked innocently and blankly, “Why is he like this?”
Alhandra’s expression was very bad. This scene was what he was most afraid of since having Wei’an. This scene has appeared in several nightmares.
It’s no joke that nearly half of the male cubs will die in infancy. If they come into contact with the EY substance at any time and cannot control their mental power to allow it to absorb and grow on its own, their still young bodies will not be able to support their mental power that has reached their limits.
The first lesson for the Zerg male cubs when they break out of their shells is how to control their mental power, so they are given several storage accessories that are not very large in space early on, in order to allow them to skillfully control their own mental power.
Of course, there are still accidents. For example, male cubs like Shalou Kuer who are very mentally active and ready to break through the threshold are most likely to die prematurely.
Shalou Kuer’s mental power is still increasing. His mental power is very active and he is unconscious. He can only let his mental power crazily plunder nutrients from the air.
His male father Shaluo Kuyu blocked his spiritual tentacles while controlling his spiritual power to absorb EY, trying to reduce the EY substance in this area to a minimum.
This method is undoubtedly at the expense of one’s own life, but it is the only way.
Shang Ying, Cliff, and several other males who arrived earlier than them had already joined him.
Afraid that he would not be able to spare the energy to take care of Wei’an’s emotions later, Alhandra handed him into Papar Xing’s arms, and he also added in his spiritual tentacles.
Papar Xing held Wei’an gently, watching from the side. They all said that the Zerg were madmen, but in reality, the true mad ones among them were the males, driven to insanity from deep within their bones.
“Does Wei’an want to help?” Papar Xing asked softly.
“Yes,” Wei’an replied, his little heart racing as if sensing something important.
Papar Xing smiled slowly. Young cubs weren’t clueless, in fact, they were often sharper and more perceptive than the adults gave them credit for.
Just when Shalou Kuer’s condition was getting worse and worse, with internal bleeding setting in, a chubby spiritual tentacle approached him, carefully injecting a mass of red mist into his body. Afterward, the same tentacle playfully smacked Shalou Kuer’s spiritual tentacle as if to teach him a lesson, which quickly recoiled in grievance.
The other males, noticing this, turned their attention toward him, and under the influence of the red mist, Shalou Kuer’s condition, though dire, temporarily stabilized.
Even though they had long known Wei’an was different, they couldn’t help but feel shocked and amazed.
Farison Enger’s gaze became particularly complex. When he first met Wei’an, the last thing he expected was that this soft and adorable little male cub would possess such powers.
Perhaps it truly was the Zerg God’s blessing!
Let the Zerg race give birth to such an existence.
He walked forward and gently patted Wei’an’s head. “Do you still remember who I am?”
Wei’an, tears welling in his eyes from bitterness, looked up at him and softly said, “I remember, Uncle Farison Enger.”
Farison Enger jumped in surprise. “Why are you crying?”
“Bitter,” Wei’an said, wrinkling his nose.
Shalou Kuer had only absorbed half of the red mist, and the remainder had returned to Wei’an through the spiritual tentacles.
“If it’s bitter, have some candy. I remember you had a lot of candy in your little pouch,” Cliff and Shang Ying said as they approached.
“Male father doesn’t allow me to eat it,” Wei’an responded, looking incredibly pitiful.
“Tsk! When did Alhandra become so stingy, not even letting you have candy?” Shang Ying said as he fished out a candy from Wei’an’s pouch, unwrapped it, and brought it to his lips, and said domineeringly, “Eat it.”
Wei’an shook his head, behaving so obediently. “I promised male father, I won’t eat it.”
Tsk! After such a long time, what should I do if I still want to steal him back to raise him when we meet again?
The other males, including Shalou Kuyu, didn’t step forward. They watched Wei’an with a mix of astonishment and relief. With his presence, the number of male cubs in the Zerg race might have died a lot less.
There is no other idea or ulterior motives. Wei’an represented another version of themselves, and they will not put any shackles or ropes on this free soul.
This is their only selfishness since they faced the entire Zerg race.
Alhandra came forward and scooped up the tearful Wei’an, casually slipping a candy into his mouth.
Wei’an, now with candy, immediately smiled happily. “Thank you, male father.”
Alhandra pinched his nose lightly. If it weren’t for Papar Xing, he wouldn’t have known that Wei’an’s only side effect from absorbing EY matter was its bitterness. No wonder Wei’an had often complained about things being bitter before.
…
The next day, Quan Yan and Quan Fan, who had just recovered from Wei’an’s injury, were shocked to learn of Cen Wei breaking out of his shell.
Each year, many Zerg eggs were deemed dead eggs—eggs even male Zerg could not bring to life. Most of these eggs came from female-female households, though occasionally from male-female households as well.
Even if these eggs are forcibly broken out of the shell, they can only be the corpses of zerg cubs that have stopped developing long ago.
The Zerg had researched this for years but never found an explanation or solution.
Who would have thought Wei’an could actually revive it, even allowing him to break their shell?
This was a huge blessing for the Zerg, but not necessarily a good thing for the still-young Wei’an.
When Wei’an woke up, he found his two brothers staring at him in surprise. He blinked, confused. “Why are you looking at Wei’an like that?”
Quan Yan picked him up, laughing, “We’re just marveling at how amazing our Wei’an is.”
Wei’an immediately brightened at the praise, patting his small chest. “Wei’an is amazing, yes.”
Seeing this side of him after so long, Quan Yan couldn’t resist rubbing his hair with his chin. “Yes, yes, very amazing.”
However, as he prepared for the next topic, Quan Yan’s expression grew serious. Though it might burden Wei’an with responsibilities too early, he feared that if they didn’t tell him now, he might later feel guilty for the lives he couldn’t save without knowing.
It was a dilemma, but they had to carefully explain everything to Wei’an, leaving the choice to him.
What surprised Quan Yan was that the male father Alhandra didn’t stop him. Given Alhandra’s usual dislike for females and how much he pampered Wei’an, the chances of him refusing to let such a young cub take on these responsibilities should’ve been high.
Papar Xing smiled gently. Everything was to be done according to Wei’an’s wishes—words spoken by Alhandra himself. His love for Wei’an was truly extreme.
Having been taught a lot about EY matter by Papar Xing, Wei’an quickly understood after hearing his brother’s explanation that only he could help trapped Zerg cubs break their shells, just as he had done for Cen Wei.
It’s just like letting brother Cen Wei break out of his shell, it’s very simple.
Wei’an puffed out his little chest and said with a serious face, “Leave it to the great Wei’an!”
“Alright, we’ll leave it to Wei’an,” Quan Yan replied, as if entrusting him with an important mission.
Feeling the weight of responsibility, Wei’an straightened his posture and said in his baby voice, “Don’t worry!”
…
On the Zerg capital star, Alhandra Zangshi was stunned when he got the news that Cen Wei had broken out of his shell. He lifted a glass of water from the table to take a sip, but the hands that had once manipulated the most sophisticated instruments were shaking violently for no reason.
Broken out of the shell!
This iron-blooded female, hardened by decades of fighting, leaned back in his chair, and for just a fleeting moment, his always-intimidating gray eyes dimmed.
He stood up silently, not rushing to Kato Star to visit the cub who had broken its shell more than twenty years later, but instead heading toward the Zerg tomb star to tell his long-departed mate, Cen Lai.
By the time he arrived, Cen Wei, Cen Sui, and Cen Yan had already been there for a while.
They shifted slightly, making space for their father.
Alhandra Zangshi stood silently for a long time before finally uttering, “Cen Wei had broken out of his shell. I’ll bring him to see you next time.”
Looking at his female father who had been holding back for a long time and could only say one sentence, Cen Sui’s eyes showed a hint of disdain.
When he had handed the egg to Wei’an, it had been with a sense of closure. After all, the one who had shared his burden—the male father who couldn’t let go, like him—had already passed. It was time for him to move on too.
But who would’ve thought that the adorable little male cub could actually help Cen Wei break out of his shell?
He really had to thank him!
Though, considering he had spent all his money buying a gift to apologize last time, he couldn’t afford to buy another. Well, he could at least stop teasing Wei’an from now on
