“How’s the situation?” Quan Fei asked Calvi, the team’s best at gathering information.
“The situation is bad. He has already transformed,” Calvi said, his face looking equally grim.
Quan Fei’s expression didn’t change, but the cup in her hand was deformed by her grip. “When will he be sent to the battlefield?”
“He still has a bit of sanity left. They will wait until he loses it completely before sending him to the battlefield. It shouldn’t be long now,” Calvin said, with an unmistakable sadness and admiration in his eyes.
To retain sanity after undergoing insect transformation requires an unimaginable strength of will!
Yet, no matter how powerful, in the face of EY substance, they were nothing more than prisoners aware of their fate.
From the moment they hatched, they knew clearly how they would die.
This was the destiny of female Zergs, though not of high-ranking ones.
The half of their bloodline inherited from the male fathers clearly told them that as long as they were willing to lead an ordinary life, they could live safely.
But they stubbornly refused to bow their proud heads, as if their spines were born to remain straight, leaving no choice but for them to break instead of bend.
They flaunted their disdain for destiny’s attempt to force them into mediocrity, with reckless abandon.
Quan Fei nonchalantly stretched, her drooping eyelids hiding the slight sadness and sneer in her light green eyes.
Still retaining sanity? He’s really ruthless to himself!
Even at this point, he won’t let himself off!
This wasn’t the first time she had faced the loss of a close Zerg. When Quan Quan, Quan He, and Quan Fang died in battle, she had been on a mission.
It wasn’t until she returned that she found out her three younger brothers had died.
From a young age, she had always been wild at heart, unable to stand the atmosphere at home, so she had left early. She hadn’t spent much time with her brothers, so when they died, all she felt was a bit of regret and pity—nothing more.
But she hadn’t expected that her elder brother, who seemed the most fierce and ruthless, would carry the weight of their deaths in his heart.
Over the years, the small guilt of not having taken care of his younger brothers had slowly but surely crushed him.
His cruel and cold appearance was really in vain.

Behind the military compound was a massive city known as Prison City. It was an extraordinarily large and unique place where Zerg soldiers, upon nearing full transformation, were locked away. As the highest-ranking commander of the army, Quan Yan was no exception.
Even though it was under the same sky, the atmosphere here always felt gloomy, as if even the light refused to touch this place.
Accompanied by roars, Quan Fei walked to the last room and stood in front of a huge window. The first thing she saw was a pair of enormous, sharp bone wings, nearly filling her entire field of vision.
The insect beasts are all kept in solitary confinement, because they are so huge that a room as big as a shopping mall can barely accommodate them.
Even so, their bone wings couldn’t fully stretch out, forced to curl up in restraint.
Aside from the wings, she saw a bone tail bound by several thick chains, capable of easily piercing the hardest interstellar battleship, along with the massive, terrifying body, wrapped entirely in hundreds of chains.
It was a creature that seemed to have emerged from the abyss, a nightmare to any sentient being who caught a glimpse of it.
Just by looking at it through the room, a chilling sense of danger crawled up her spine.
The black scales were covered with dark green Zerg markings that resembled thick snakes crawling all over its body. The massive blood-red pupils were filled with rage, and its rough breathing beat down heavily, as if threatening to crush anyone at any moment.
There are very few female zergs in the Zerg tribe that are willing to completely transform into insect form. Even if they are in the most intense fighting state, they will at best fight in a semi-insect state with bone wings and bone tails spread out.
Because the completely transformed Zerg race is too terrifying, even a timid race would be frightened to death by just looking at it.
Whenever they transformed, the looks from other races would shift from fear and submission due to their power, to revulsion and rejection.
No sentient being, not even the Zerg themselves, liked that kind of gaze.
Quan Fei stood quietly outside, watching the scene. The destructive power of Zerg beasts, driven to transformation by the Zerg riots, was terrifying.
Yet the Zergs did not, like other races, slaughter their mindless kin. Instead, they spent enormous Zerg resources and energy to send them to the battlefield, giving them the dignity of dying in the battlefield.
They had been powerful and proud their entire lives. We should allow them a dignified, heroic farewell.
A female Zerg’s spine will only bow to a male Zerg!
Nothing else in existence can force them to bend!
This was the decision made and the words spoken by Sotamifei, the supreme male Zerg leader a thousand years ago.
…………
On Kato Star, Wei’an had bathed early and fallen asleep next to his male father. The male father had promised that if he went to bed early, they would go to the capital star tomorrow to visit his uncle. His brothers and female father would be there too.
Excited, Wei’an closed his eyes early but couldn’t fall asleep, his eyes darting back and forth under his eyelids.
Amused, Alhandra opened the terminal and recorded the scene, sending it to the family chat group, which immediately stirred up the quiet group.
Alhandra: “Pretending to be asleep just so he can go to the capital star early.”
Alhandra Zangshi: “Don’t tease the cub.”
Alhandra Rongyu: “After all these years, can you please tone down your mischievousness?”
Zang Yan: “Agreed.”
Zang Su: “Agreed.”
Alhandra Zijing: “How can you tease such a cute cub? Why not give him to me to raise!”
While gently patting Wei’an’s back to coax him to sleep, Alhandra selectively ignored their replies, only paying attention to what he wanted to see.
As Wei’an gradually fell asleep, he entered a strange dream, where everything was dark, and the occasional sound of chains dragging could be heard. Holding a black knife with silver patterns, he curiously followed the sound forward.
At the end of the path, it was still pitch black, but the strange noise came from there.
Just as he tilted his head in confusion, the black mist suddenly cleared, and a pair of massive, blood-red pupils locked onto his.
“Waaah…” A young cry echoed throughout the room, waking Alhandra, who had just fallen asleep.
“What’s wrong? What’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare?” He held the crying Wei’an, comforting him endlessly.
Large, heavy tears dripped from the corners of Wei’an’s eyes as his small hands tightly gripped the front of his father’s pajamas. His small head shook continuously, and amidst his sobs, the words “Brother… brother…” escaped repeatedly.
In the largest prison cell of Prison City, a fully transformed Zerg beast had a momentary flash of confusion in its blood-red eyes.
He dreamed of the little cub from Alhandra Manor. In the dream, that little cub wasn’t scared of his terrifying appearance at all and clumsily climbed onto his massive Zerg body, waving a small knife in an attempt to cut through the chains that bound him.
That little male cub… seemed to be called… Wei’an.
A furious, mindless roar filled with rage echoed through all of Prison City.
At that moment, the military Zergs of the First Army on Fermi Star awoke, looking toward the towering prison walls in the distance. They knew their commander had completely lost his mind.
Only now did they finally acknowledge that the First Army no longer had a commander.
The once unbeatable figure had collapsed with the deafening roars.
Silent grief seeped into their hearts as the iron-blooded military Zergs, invincible on interstellar battlefields, quietly reddened their eyes. Their hands hung at their sides, trembling weakly.
Inside the prison cell, the terrifying Zerg beast lifted its head high, only to be forcefully dragged down by the chains around its neck. It was like a fish floundering helplessly in the sand, with no dignity, at the mercy of others.
At dawn, Wei’an had cried throughout the entire night at Alhandra Manor. His voice, once childish, had become hoarse from the continuous crying. No matter how much they tried to console him, it was useless. His face grew increasingly pale from the relentless crying, and Alhandra, both heartbroken and anxious, was on the verge of tears, urging Qiao Song with a violent tone to hurry and treat him.
Qiao Song was at a loss. He had tried using a mild sedative, but it hadn’t worked, and he didn’t dare to increase the dosage.
Quan Yan, Quan Ci, Quan Lu, Quan Fe, and Quan Fan, who had all rushed overnight via the warp point, were shocked when they saw Wei’an’s pale face from all the crying. Immediately, their instincts flared, sensing that a male Zerg was in distress, and their inner turmoil turned into anger and discomfort.
“Brother’s here, brother’s here. What’s wrong, Wei’an? Don’t cry. When you cry, I feel bad.” Quan Yan took Wei’an from Alhandra’s arms immediately, suppressing the distress in his heart as he gently comforted him.
Seeing the young cub he had carefully protected now in such distress, his heart ached terribly.
Wei’an, whose sobs were growing weaker, opened his teary eyes and looked up at his brother. Recognizing him, Wei’an reached out, grabbed Quan Yan’s face, and kissed him messily before continuing to cry.
The familiar Zerg scent rooted deep within his soul was gradually being stripped away, and though still in a daze, little Wei’an could only cry, overwhelmed by the discomfort.
After he passed out once from crying, the faces of Alhandra and the others turned so grim that they were hard to look at, even the youngest, Quan Fan, feeling so distressed that his eyes turned fierce.
This couldn’t continue. If it did, Wei’an was going to cry himself into serious harm.
…
The interstellar headlines read: “Quan Yan, Commander of the First Army of the Zerg, has fully transformed and is about to be sent to the battlefield.”
As soon as this headline broke, the entire interstellar community exploded.
Zhaoyeming: “Let’s not talk about the warriors of that tribe who risked their lives to get this headline. Didn’t it say that the male worms of the Zerg tribe can suppress the EY substance? How could this happen?”
Solping Fat: “For you to say that, you must not understand how rare male Zergs are.”
Ceiling Plate: “No matter how rare, we’re talking about the commander of the First Army!”
Zhaoyeming: “Exactly! You’d think the commander of the First Army would at least qualify for some male Zerg soothing!”
Yuyuan: “Does that mean the claim that male Zergs can suppress the EY substance is false?”
Youzhong: “Oh my, what a huge secret this is!”
Hualuo: “Would the Zerg need to lie? Remember the great male Zerg plundering war years ago? If it was fake, why would they pay such a high price to fight over them?”
False Broken Moon: “Exactly! The Zerg are still at war with the Parmin Empire to this day.”
Jiaohan: “The Zerg won’t stop until they take the capital of Parmin.”
Suhe: “That’s what they get for calling on the Zerg to hand over male Zergs for research for the sake of the galaxy. It’s not like they don’t know what male Zergs mean to the Zerg. If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate it either.”
Keer: “How can anyone defend a race as selfish and cold-blooded as the Zerg? Nowadays, male Zergs are the only ones who can suppress the EY substance. If they don’t hand them over for research to develop a cure, are they planning to drag the whole galaxy down with them?”
Suhe: “Hmph, aren’t you afraid the Zerg will see that and storm into your capital?”
Keer: “The Parmin Empire will never fear the Zerg’s anti-peace violence.”
False Broken Moon: “Yeah, right. If it weren’t for the Orc Tribe, the Tree Tribe, the Yula, and over ten other races supporting you, the Zerg would’ve wiped out the Parmin Empire ages ago. You wouldn’t be here spouting nonsense.”
Jiaohan: “If the Zerg weren’t focused on guarding the Star Beast Domain, they would have crushed you long ago.”
The Parmin Empire’s reputation across the galaxy was quite poor, mainly because of their obsession with research. They loved studying not only the Zerg but also other unique races, including humans, Mermaid Race, the Ming Race, and the Jade Race. Whenever they encountered a race that wasn’t in their database, they would go to extreme lengths to study them.
Once the Parmin Empire appeared in the galactic web forums, the conversation quickly fizzled out, with other races showing no interest in engaging. However, behind the scenes, many still kept an eye on the Zerg situation, waiting to see if male Zergs could truly suppress the EY substance. All eyes were now on whether the fully transformed Commander Quan Yan could return to the battlefield in his humanoid form.
