The Sickly Youngest Member of the Villainous Family

“The young lady stopped Evan’s rampage.”

Rowen just informed Recardo of the news that had just come in.

“Several servants, including the main physician, have been injured.”

Sasha managed to halt Evan Tailor’s rampage.

To do something so dangerous, when no one, not even Jin and Othello, were willing to go near him during his adjustment period…….

A sigh escaped his lips.

“…..You’ve done something unnecessary.”

With a thud, Recardo closed the book.

“Not like a Winchester.”

Though Recardo’s voice was chilly, his mood didn’t seem bad.

‘Not like a Winchester’ was a phrase used to reprimand the children of the Winchesters, but the tone was oddly different.

“Fortunately, the young miss’s injuries seem to be nothing more than a slight cut on her cheek.”

Rowen reported the details that Recardo would be curious about.

Recardo didn’t have any further response, but Rowen knew that all of the Winchester Duke’s household members were concerned for Sasha’s well-being.

“You even took the initiative to get an apology from Lady Permetis the other day.”

Hearing that there was a disturbance, Rowen had headed straight there.

And there he found Sasha, not far from Permetis, talking to her.

It wasn’t surprising that she had stood up for the maids.

Stories of Sasha sharing her wisdom or helping those below her had already earned her a reputation as an oddball among her kin.

Sasha didn’t care about trivial reputations.

She didn’t seek recognition despite being so intelligent, and she enjoyed the small yet impactful ways she could help others.

“She seems to have a strong sense of justice.”

Indeed, it’s a trait that doesn’t quite fit with the Winchesters.

She could have left the successor from the Taylors alone and let him run amok.

But it’s what makes her the new face of the otherwise grim Winchesters.

“A sense of justice.”

Recardo twisted the corner of his lips.

“Maybe she takes after Trisha.”

He thought of Sasha’s mother.

A woman who had gone into a cold pond for a seven-year-old child struggling with an outburst.

That was how Othello had begun to follow Trisha.

Right now, he cherishes Sasha almost too much.

“Well… However, the appearance is unmistakably like the duke. ”

He could hear Rowen’s appraising voice.

“Such beautiful silver hair belongs to only two people in the world.”

Recardo simply gazed out of the window at the serene landscape.

In his deep green eyes, glimpses of the past flickered by.

Recardo had met Trisha Quenne by a lakeside.

She was a beautiful woman with profound wisdom and knowledge.

She referred to herself as a disciple of Mechius and claimed to have a sacred mission.

Winchester had been chosen by Mechius.

Recardo hadn’t shared a bed with Trisha.

Hence, the occurrence of Trisha becoming pregnant was a mystery.

Trisha had declared that the true parent of the child was Mechius.

She said the child would be born in the form of a human in this world, as the key to Mechius.

– Please, protect the child until then.

Truthfully, he hadn’t paid much attention to the child until a certain moment.

He had merely agreed to Trisha’s request to raise the child as his own.

The ancient promises made by the Winchester ancestors were not significant.

However, watching the child’s growth was a genuinely pleasurable endeavor.

Like clothes drenched in a downpour, it was hard to look away.

“…Yeah.”

Recardo’s response came a long while later.

A cool yet intense smile briefly appeared and vanished from his lips.

* * *

As a consequence of my reckless action, I was sentenced to two weeks probation this morning for doing something dangerous.

The doctor came and confirmed that Evan’s abilities had stabilized before leaving, and Evan himself mentioned he wouldn’t be leaving his room for a while.

Maya got a stern scolding from the head maid for not stopping me.

She had to spend a week in the laundry room, buried under a pile of laundry, as punishment…….

I felt guilty for Maya, but she assured me she was fine.

‘ For some reason, I just felt like you would handle it.

Like she believed in me more than she ever had before.

Evan’s rampage was massive.

The room was a mess, doors flew off their hinges – if I hadn’t intervened, the mansion might have been destroyed.

‘By the way, isn’t…… he weaker than he used to be?’

It was certainly a possibility.

A twelve-year-old manifesting his powers when he should have been four. If Evan is weaker than he was in his previous regression, is there any hope for him this time?

I shook my head, reminding myself not to think negatively.

As a result of the waiting, perhaps he has actually improved.

Anyway, I don’t want to die early, whether it’s from illness or the world’s end.

Knock, knock.

While writing a letter to Grandfather Hector after a long time, someone knocked on my door.

Who could it be while I’m on probation?

“Come in.”

In response to my words, the maid outside the room opened the door, revealing Jin in a neat appearance.

I blinked once and lowered myself from the chair.

The last time I saw Jin was in front of Evan’s room last night.

From what I heard; he’d requested communication with Akada to find a way to control Evan.

In the meantime, I had managed to calm Evan down.

Before the connection was established, the situation had concluded, no one outside of our family knew of Evan’s outbursts.

Not even the Taylors.

As soon as I saw Jin’s face after hearing the news, I fainted, and I don’t remember anything after that.

“Apple pie.”

It was only then, at Jin’s words, that I looked at Jin’s hand.

“I was hungry. Thank you, brother!”

It was inevitable for a smile to form on its own.

I couldn’t help but smile, because Maya was on a punishment and therefore, I had no access to fancy snacks.

As a substitute for Maya, an older maid who was temporarily working in her place prevented me from eating sweet things, saying it would ruin my teeth.

Though other maids brought them to me bit by bit, it wasn’t enough!

I longed for Maya at times like this.

“I’ll enjoy it.”

One can’t help but feel delighted by an apple pie, especially with honey tea.

“Together…”

“…….”

Jin’s expression, with no intention of opening his mouth, was expected.

I picked up the pie cheerfully and asked.

“By the way, are you feeling better? You seemed injured last time.”

I remembered there had been blood on Jin’s clothes.

“…It was that guy’s blood.”

“Ah… I’m relieved.”

Just as I was smiling with relief, about to take a bite of the pie, Jin’s voice came, interrupting me.

“What are you relieved about?”.

Pausing, I turned to look at Jin, and I realized from his cold stare that he was angry.

Unlike before, I hadn’t paid much attention to the black flame that didn’t emanate from Jin’s body.

“I’ve never tried regretting, but seeing you like this…”

Considering the change in the weight of the atmosphere from earlier, he might be genuinely upset.

‘As expected,… you must be angry, right?’

Maybe he is, because it’s true that I acted selfishly…… I was too blinded by the pie.

Jin took a step closer to me and bent his knees a little.

He raised his hand toward me, and I instinctively stiffened my shoulders in response.

“I’m so furious, it’s driving me crazy.”

Soon, Jin’s hand made contact with my cheek.

The wound where the clear light blade had made a shallow cut hadn’t yet fully healed.

The black flame, which I had been trying so hard to restrain, spread out into the atmosphere along with a cold sensation.

“…I should have killed him on the Training Ground. I genuinely regret it.”

Jin’s voice sounded harsh, accompanied by a fierce glare.

“If I had done that, you wouldn’t have been hurt.”

My heart sank as I noticed that the ruthless and rational Jin seemed to have disappeared.

  1. eternal perspective says:

    Thanks for chap
This kid is legendary 😂 , she thought the apple pie was the issue?? 0 reflections done at all

But wow so she really ISN’T BLOOD RELATED at all…. Dam all kinds of crazy ships are possible now. Heck I’m amazed they accepted her jesus like description for how sasha was conceived considering they’re winchesters.

Wait this means there’s a non zero probability that if recardo didn’t ignore his oath the regressions wouldn’t ever have happened?
