It was a cat.
The light purple fur similar to Shekina’s hair, which seemed to be mixed with two spoons of gray, was shiny, and the unique sparkling cat eyes changed color depending on the light, as if they were embedded with jewel opals.
However, it was a little different from other cats in that it had a much longer and fuller tail than its body.
If you look at the body and face alone, it looks like a baby, but because of its tail, its overall size is so large that it looks like an adult cat.
Hmm.
Hmm…
Shekina scratched her cheek and glanced at Nisha.
“Why did you make it a cat? I was expecting something with wings…”
“I didn’t interfere with it.”
Nisha retorted with a sigh.
“As soon as it was endowed with consciousness, it became that appearance. The cat form was chosen by itself… and so was the personality.”
“Personality?”
“It’s a cat.”
“Hmm, a cat, huh?”
“Don’t you know cats?”
“No, I know… But why? What’s the problem?”
Seeing Shekina looking bewildered, Nisha burst into laughter.
“Check it yourself. I’m done here.”
Shekina, still puzzled, reached out towards the cat flicking its tail on the shelf, trying to grasp the situation.
“Nabi-ya. Come here. ”
However, the cat didn’t even look at Shekina, just yawned and gazed into the distance.
“Why isn’t it coming…?”
“Cats are like that by nature.”
“Huh?”
“They’re naturally aloof. If you want to be their master, you have to make them like you.”
“……..”
Shekina felt her head spinning with dizziness.
“But… but it’s my phantom beast, right?”
“Yes.”
“I thought it would be like a servant…?”
“I told you yesterday. It might not always do as you wish.”
“Still, it should at least come when called!”
“You expect a lot from a cat.”
Usually, lower demons employ servitors with the help of higher demons to protect their bodies. However, among them, not a single cat was found. Why?
‘Because it doesn’t serve.’
No matter how much you coax, soothe, or threaten, they won’t do the job properly. They disappear quite often since they aren’t treated well by their masters.
“Seems like it’s quite stubborn too.”
Nisha clicked her tongue again, saying that it seemed like something truly Shekina-like had come out. And she snapped her fingers lightly. As soon as she did that, her cat’s body floated in the air.
“Nyaah!”
Nisha lifted the cat with a gust of wind, tossed it to Shekina, and clapped her hands.
“I’ve done everything, so take it and leave.”
“But. Sister? If you leave me like this, what do you expect me to do?”
“What else do you want to do here. I’m going to sleep now. If you wander around the corridor, I’ll kill you.”
Whoosh!
Nisha raised the wind, and Shekina, holding the cat, was pushed out to the corridor. The door closed with a firm thud, seemingly never to open again.
“Uwaa…”
Shekina touched her forehead and bowed deeply. The cat’s fur was soft and comforting, but she didn’t feel entirely happy. She didn’t know how to tame it.
“What should I do? Seriously, what should I do? Ugh, I expected this, but what now?”
At that moment,
Ring!
A system window appeared before Shekina, who was muttering in frustration.
Sub Quest <Earn Your Master’s Approval!>
Long time no see. Have you been well?
In the time I haven’t seen you, you’ve come up with another peculiar thing. By the way, the residue of resentment is a collection of negative emotions that should not be embraced by resentment. The fact that you considered giving it an identity is truly remarkable!
Anyway, now that you’ve created it, you must take responsibility, right?
Cats repay kindness tenfold, but they hold grudges a hundredfold! Never incur their displeasure!
Content : Make your phantom beast willingly become your servant!
Time Limit: None

1. Subjugation of the Servitude
2. Information on the ‘Another System’
“………”
Are you kidding me?
This fellow stays quiet when I need it and always pops up at the most inconvenient times.
Shekina felt a shiver down her spine and narrowed her eyes. Then she quickly shook her head.
“If this jerk doesn’t consider me as a master right now, can’t I just cast a subjugation spell… No, if I’m going to use it as a servitor, shouldn’t it be enough? Voluntarily…? How?”
While trying to figure out a solution, the cat nestled in Shekina’s arms suddenly sprang out.
“Ouch, it’s hurt. Why are your claws so sharp?”
Shekina gently rubbed her scratched arm, making a slight grimace.
The cat on the floor, after patting its face a few times with its front paws, soon fixed its gaze on Shekina’s face.
The sparkling eyes were quite beauti…
— Do you think you can cast such a pathetic spell on me?
…What?
— Servitor? Hah, what a ridiculous notion. Even if I were to wake up from the dead, I have no intention of becoming your servitor.
Shekina opened her mouth wide and stared at the cat.
“C-C-Can you talk? Do you even know how to talk?”
— Do I look like I’m talking? Your intellectual level is remarkable. This is telepathy, a skill only exceptional beings like me can use.
“……..”
A phantom beast in the demon realm.
Phantom beast, unlike spirits in the human realm, do not have ranks. They float around the demon realm, not closely associating with demons, enjoying a life of leisure. So, no one had ever heard the voice of a phantom beast.
However,
— Bring me some food. By the way, I like chicken legs and bluefin tuna.
Does this make any sense?
Refusing to be a servitor just because it can talk and giving commands?
“This must be a dream… a dream…”
Shekina sat down, burying her face in her hands.
— Is it challenging for you to accept me? Well, creatures like you, small and weak, probably can’t fully embrace my greatness.
At those words, Shekina snapped her head up.
Enduring everything else was fine, but she couldn’t tolerate being called weak. Shekina glared at the cat, eyes wide open.
“What are you talking about? I’m not weak!”
— What nonsense are you spouting? When this body sees the weakest being in this space, it’s you.
The cat said, tapping the floor with its front paws.
— Because you’re human.

Leaning against the large window in the main hallway, Calvin gazed outside.
The weather was rough; the raging wind was anything but gentle. In this condition, even demons would find it challenging to roam freely through the snowy mountains.
But for how long?
A chill ran down Calvin’s spine as he pondered, in that very moment.
Thud.
The door across from Calvin, leading to the demon lord’s office, swung open.
“Yes, yes. I understand. I’ll be careful. Yes. I’ll go in.”
Arthur, bowing and nodding excessively, half extended himself toward the demon lord’s office.
“Yes, yes. Thank you. Yes.”
After fully retreating into the hallway, he closed the door with a firm thud.
“Phew, such a nagging.”
Arthur murmured, scratching his ear, as Calvin’s figure detached from leaning against the window.
“If you didn’t want to be nagged, you shouldn’t have done that in the first place.”
“What’s this. Did you wait for me?”
Arthur widened his eyes, staring at Calvin.
“Tell me honestly. Isn’t it a lie that you don’t like me?”
“…Crazy.”
Calvin trembled and stepped back. He didn’t want to be too close to Arthur.
“Sir Lyat said to go to the priest again. Did you hear the order too?”
Arthur nodded in response to Calvin’s question.
“I find it bothersome, so you go.”
“Why are you passing your problem onto me?”
“That’s the meaning being a good friends.”
“We’re not friends.”
“Whatever.”
Ignoring Arthur’s casually thrown joke, Calvin spoke again.
“Why were you with that homunculus back then?”
“Were you waiting because you were curious?”
“I won’t deny it. So stay away. It’s dirty.”
Stepping five paces back, Calvin glared through Arthur, urging him to answer quickly.
“I don’t know.”
Arthur shrugged his shoulders, lifting his head.
“I don’t know why Shekina was there. I didn’t ask. I’m not particularly curious.”
“What? Why?”
“A good dad doesn’t try to interfere with or find out every little thing. That’s why I just watch. Our Shekina is capable enough to handle everything herself.”
Calvin’s face wrinkled in response.
“Who’s a dad… Forget it. I won’t ask.”
Why bother asking this crazy guy? It’s better if I find out on my own.
With that thought, Calvin promptly plunged into his own shadow. He rose from the shadow on the corridor floor.
“Don’t stop me. Don’t touch me. It’s a matter that needs to be reported to the Demon Lord, so I waited for you because I saw you.”
Missing Calvin, Arthur looked down at his empty palm, making a disapproving sound.
“Then let’s go together.”
“Why?”
“I can’t leave someone like you alone with Shekina.”
“…Do as you please.”
Following Arthur, Calvin touched his forehead. He recalled what the demons had said.
– Shekina? What kind of homunculus is she? Just a cute one?
– Innocent, kind.
– Shekina is truly a wonderful person!
Why does everyone talk about this homunculus in such a way?
Calvin just couldn’t understand.
He decided to observe carefully. And if he noticed anything suspicious, he would immediately…!
That was when they crossed over to the annex.
On the other side of the corridor, not far away, a small figure appeared. Arthur brightly smiled and called out to the child.
“Shekina!”
