The Ruined Ending made by a Baby

TREMBAB 60

Why is Arthur behaving like this?

Shekina was somewhat perplexed.

Arthur likes children. You could tell that he loved children just by looking at how he treated not only her but also the twins, and Nisha. What’s more, he was proud to say that he was the father of two children!

However,

“Shall we believe in the miracle of the gods?”

“If he truly has divine protection, something miraculous should happen to save the child, no matter what.”

Making such irresponsible remarks?

Shekina looked at Arthur with shaky eyes, but Arthur didn’t retract his words.

“Try praying once. Maybe that mighty god of yours can lend a hand?”

Yuriel’s face contorted. He glared at Arthur with a wrinkled expression.

“Your words… are quite severe…”

Arthur chuckled and shrugged his shoulders.

“Please save his life. My baby saved that child. Are you still angry because I said it too harshly? Is this the attitude a priest would show?”

Shekina felt something was off.

No matter how much demons disliked priest, there was no way Arthur would act like this. Could there be some reason behind it? Sekina firmly grabbed Arthur’s clothes.

“I… I…”

Yuriel’s eyes trembled slightly. As if he had something to say, he hesitated for a moment, then closed his eyes, gently placed Dehan in his arms, and clasped his hands together. He began to pray.

Shekina could feel her heart pounding.

Would the god they believed in really respond?

Or would the system trying to save Dehan create some kind of situation?

If a miracle happened, they would undoubtedly worship the priest even more.

But if nothing happened…

‘Is it in our favor?’

Did Arthur anticipate such a situation when he spoke? Shekina’s gaze turned to Arthur.

That’s when it happened.

A snowstorm began not far away.

It wasn’t a naturally occurring snowstorm. It was a snowstorm created by something extraordinary. Shekina squinted her eyes, trying to focus, and soon saw someone pulling a massive sleigh.

“Arthur! You bast*ard, how can you knock me out and then go away!”

He was running towards them, making thunderous sounds.

“It’s Calvin. Division Commander of the 4th Legion.”

Arthur whispered Calvin’s identity into Shekina’s ear.

“Ugh… But why is he here?”

“After I told him I was going to fight the priest, I knocked him unconscious. When he came to his senses, he followed me. Because he didn’t want me to kill the priest.”

“…….”

Arthur seemed unfamiliar.

It felt like the sunlight had turned into a deceptive shadow.

Not bad, but somehow unsettling. Shekina made a mental note to avoid provoking Arthur again.

“Do you see him?”

Arthur addressed Yuriel, who was sitting absentmindedly.

“He’s a member of Margrave Daimon’s family. He came to pick us up.”

“…. Ah!”

Yuriel, finally grasping the situation while still holding Dehan, abruptly stood up. Calvin, who had approached, glared at Arthur, reins in hand.

“Hey. You dragged this filthy sled all the way here, and you don’t even say a word of thanks?”

“Well, priest? Get on the sled with the child. We’ll take you to our territory.”

“You insolent brat.”

Calvin grumbled as he took the reins again. Yuriel, still holding Dehan tightly, sat on the sled.

“Priest, remember.”

Arthur pressed the edge of the sled with his palm, locking eyes with Yuriel.

“There’s no response from God.”

“Th-that’s…”

“I’m the one who saved your lives.”

Yuriel’s face turned pale, but Arthur remained indifferent. He signaled Calvin to send them off first.

“They won’t be coming to our castle, will they?”

“Calvin will decide that.”

“Hmph.”

Well, even if they come, it would probably be the main residence, not the annex. Shekina found it more shocking and fascinating that Arthur planned and orchestrated this situation.

“Why did you set up this scenario?”

So Shekina asked Arthur, who responded with his characteristic twinkle in his eyes.

“It’s entertaining.”

He blushed slightly.

“Those who believe in God were abandoned by God and saved by demons. What if they find out about this later? Will they blame God? Will they praise us?”

“No matter what happened today, Yuriel’s faith must have cracked.”

“Exactly. That’s what makes it more interesting.”

“You find pleasure in the strangest things.”

Shekina lightly tapped Arthur’s head, who chuckled.

“Your temperament is really something.”

“Not with you, lady Shekina.”

Well, that settles it.

Shekina decided to stop pondering any further.

After arriving in his own room at the demon castle through Arthur’s magic, Shekina left immediately. Since Arthur also left to report this to Lucart, there was no problem for Shekina.

Then Shekina went straight to Nisha’s room, of course.

This time, without wandering the corridors, Shekina boldly opened the door and entered.

“I’m in!”

Nisha, sitting at her desk, frowned as soon as she saw Shekina.

“Don’t you know how to knock? Have you completely forgotten about manners?”

Oops, sis. You expect too much from this younger sister.”

“You’re such a nutcase.”

Nisha slammed shut the book she was reading and glanced at Shekina.

She had just talked about retrieval magic four hours ago. It seemed like a short time since she left so confidently, proclaiming she would bring back something she liked. So Nisha naturally thought Shekina had given up and returned.

“So, did you give up? Couldn’t find anything worthy of my eyes?”

Shekina chuckled.

“Do you see me as a quitter? I’m here already. Don’t cry when you see it. This is really, really impressive.”

“…….”

What’s wrong with this kid?

She wasn’t like this when she was a baby… Well, she couldn’t understand her then, but somehow it seems similar to now. It feels like she talked more back then.

Nisha sighed and gestured, indicating to show her what she brought.

“Ta-da!”

Shekina placed the artifact she retrieved from her embrace on the desk. It was a butterfly-shaped hairpin with an aurora pattern on a black background.

Nisha looked at the hairpin and then back at Shekina.

“Hmm.”

Nisha’s expression seemed to ask,

And then Nisha, seems like she want to say ‘What is this, idi*ot.’ It was an expression like that.

Shekina hurriedly added,

“This is an artifact. I went all the way to the Frozen Northern canyon to find it. I thought I was freezing back then.”

Of course, thanks to the heating spell provided by Martin and Sebastian’s scroll, there was a dual heating spell applied, but she had to play along for the other party to appreciate it.

Shekina grinned broadly and pushed the hairpin towards Nisha. However, Nisha’s expression was not particularly pleased.

“Are you stupid?”

Nisha shook her head disapprovingly and clicked her tongue.

“Don’t you know that we can’t use artifacts? Maybe you can because you have the ability to bind, but I can’t. Did you bring this without knowing that or are you trying to tease me?”

“Why are you so tangled up?”

Shekina grumbled for a moment, then straightened her shoulders and continued.

“I calculated all that and brought it. I bound it temporarily, so you can wear it too.”

“Really?”

“Yep, really.”

Nisha still didn’t seem completely satisfied.

“It seems impossible.”

“Why are you so negative? Just pretend for a moment. It will surprise you.”

Nisha, who was hesitating, tightly grasped the hairpin at Shekina’s urging.

Right. Let’s overlook it this time, pretending to be deceived.

But if there’s no change even after wearing it, there will be consequences.

With that in mind, Nisha pinned the hairpin in her hair and focused her magical energy on it.

“… Crazy.”

An unexpected ability unfolded that no one could have imagined.
