Nisha Daimon.
Created as the twelfth homunculus by Lyat’s hand.
Initially feeble upon creation, but displaying prowess in elemental magic after awakening.
Nisha unconsciously touched her pointed ears and gazed below at Shekina on the lower floor.
‘She definitely demonstrated the ability to bind artifacts.’
The power of the demon king sealed within an artifact, the ability to track it.
Using this, finding the sealed power of the demon king would be more manageable.
That’s why the 1st Legion of demons clings to this little one, and Lyat isn’t hiding his pride. But Nisha…
‘Annoying.’
She flashed her violet eyes and shot a glance at Shekina.
The immature twin brothers might not know, but she does. The fact that homunculus like her will be abandoned when the demon king’s power returns.
Other homunculus don’t know. No, most demons don’t know. That’s because Lyat decided to keep it a secret.
When Nisha first summoned an elemental, she wanted to brag about it immediately and sent the elemental to Lyat. At the time, Lyat was in his office, engaged in a conversation.
– Sir, shouldn’t we teach the homunculus the power to adapt to the demon realm?
The other party was the vice commander of the 1st Legion. He seemed concerned in his own way, but Lyat’s response was chilling.
– What are you talking about? Why teach useless things to those guys? We have no intention of taking them to the demon realm. They’ll be disposed of as soon as we find the Demon Lord’s power.
She thought she had misheard. No, she wanted to believe it wasn’t true.
But…
Could it really not be true?
Nisha recalled how Lyat had treated her until now and soon accepted it.
I’m going to be discarded, she accepted it that way.
‘Ignorance must have been a blessing.’
If she had known nothing, she would have remained loyal to the Demon King as in the past, working for them. Then she would have gained a sense of achievement and pride.
‘I want to kill them all.’
Nisha suddenly realized it.
But now she couldn’t do anything. Even if she had talent in elemental magic, her opponents were high-ranking demons.
At best, she could only kill one or two of them.
So she devoted herself to training, lowering her body flat. Stronger, stronger, she had to get stronger. She would become strong enough to escape from this detestable Demon King’s castle and kill them all.
But an unexpected complication arose.
The last homunculus created, Shekina Daimon.
Shekina, who could handle artifacts, would make a significant contribution to breaking the Demon King’s seal. If that happened, she might be killed before she could truly acquire power.
‘So this can’t be allowed.’
At least the seal had to be maintained until she became a top-tier elemental mage. Only then could she seek revenge against them.
“Lady Nisha, are you alright?”
Nisha was silently gripping the stair railing, and when Arthur asked with a puzzled expression, she said nothing.
Arthur had been in opposition to Lyat’s words, but Nisha didn’t trust him. Her face grew even colder.
“Get lost with that little bug.”
Nisha replied with a disdainful tone. Arthur was slightly taken aback, but remembering that Nisha had always been hostile to everyone, he just nodded.
“Now, lady Shekina, shall we go?”
Arthur reassured Shekina with a gentle tone.
Based on his conversation with Lyat in the past, he knew that these homunculus would eventually die.
The demons who knew this fact were himself, Lyat, and perhaps Calvin… and, Martin, to some extent. Other demons were unaware, even the homunculus who would face death.
Arthur wanted to take care of them while they were still alive, before they were discarded.
He wanted to make their short lives as pleasant as possible, so he treated all the homunculus kindly and affectionately. It was the least he could do.
“I’ve prepared extra-special milk for today. Let’s go now.”
Arthur tried to hide the bitterness on his face as he comforted Shekina.
Just as they were about to leave…
“Byak!”
Suddenly, Shekina screamed.
“Uh, uh? Lady Shekina, are you alright?”
“B-byak! Byaaaaah! Aaaah!”
Why is she acting like this?
Arthur was used to Shekina being somewhat peculiar, so he didn’t easily get startled by minor events. But this was different.
Wasn’t Shekina, who had been calm while being held, now struggling to get down.
“D-Do you want me to put you down?”
“Mmph! Byak!”
“Oh, alright…”
Arthur reluctantly put Shekina down on the floor.
Immediately, Shekina moved faster than anyone else and approached Nisha in a different way.
“What, what is it? Whats wrong with this little one?”
Why is she so fast? Nisha swayed slightly as she looked at Shekina, who had come right up to her feet.
And when Shekina placed her hand on Nisha’s body…
“Byahahaha!”
Shekina laughed more enthusiastically and cheerfully than ever before, nuzzling her head.
‘Here’s the little bug you’ve said a sec ago will comes to you’
While thingking like that.
***
Naturally, I was offended at being called a bug.
But what could I do just because I felt like that? I was a newborn baby, and that little one was quite a big homunculus.
‘She was the one who summoned the elemental, right?’
I squinted my eyes and looked at Nisha, the summoned homunculus.
She had jet-black hair tied up in a high ponytail, slanted eyes, pointed ears, and somewhat disheveled skin, resembling a dark elf.
‘Does appearance affect magic as well?’
I was curious but not curious enough to bother confirming.
“Go away with that little bugs.”
I didn’t need to be with this guy even if I had to hear such words.
So I was about to leave Arthur’s embrace quietly.
That’s when it happened.
Sub-mission <Learn Summoning Magic!>
You don’t even know the ‘summon’ in summoning magic! But for the future, you should definitely learn, right?
Nisha Daimon has a talent for summoning magic. Try learning summoning magic by sticking with her!
Objective: Successfully summon something!
Time limit: 168 hours
Reward: Automated System
Failure: Death (Hint: If you’re in the same bowl, you all look the same. Perhaps you can get something by staying close?)
I was annoyed that there was still a death penalty for not knowing even the ‘sum’ in summoning magic, but the hint that hadn’t been there before eased my mind a bit.
I figured I had to compromise to this extent.
At this point, the content was more important.
So I glanced through the content with a twinkle in my eye and soon realized what the system was trying to tell me.
“Byak! (Put me down!)”
“Uh, uh? Lady Shekina?”
“Byak! Byaaaaah! Aaaah! (Put me down! Now!)”
After some struggling, Arthur gently put me down on the floor, and I quickly approached Nisha and placed my hand on her ankle.
As soon as I did, I felt an angry sensation, and a black light emanated from my fingertip.
‘Wow.’
The light that passed through my fingertips, up my arm, and to my heart gave my body a strong shock.
It felt similar to when I received magic from the demons, but it was different. A bit more intricate and a bit heavier…
‘The power of the Demon King?’
I widened my eyes.
Homunculus were created with the power of the Demon King.
But I hadn’t expected to be able to absorb power like this. There hadn’t been such an opportunity when I was with the twins, had there?
‘What’s going on? Is Nisha somehow different?’
I found it puzzling, but for now, I decided to think about it later and firmly held Nisha’s ankle. I had to suck more and more.
“Hey! Aren’t you leaving?”
I was in the middle of draining her strength when Nisha pushed me away.
Darn, what a waste. I looked up at Nisha with a pout.
“Why are you sticking to me like this? Just go before I throw you away. Right now!”
Nisha shouted at me in a very startled manner, but I wasn’t scared at all.
What’s scary is the death upon quest failure, not a kid like this.
“Byak! (No! I have to be by your side!)”
So I grabbed onto Nisha’s thigh and yelled. The added strength was a bonus.
“What, what’s going on? Why are you like this? Kid, what’s the matter? It won’t come off?”
Nisha shook the leg I clung to while shouting.
“Hey! Arthur! Why is this one acting like this?”
Then Arthur, who was below, answered with a complicated expression.
“I guess……”
He said, swiping at his slightly moisturized eyes.
“I think lady Shekina likes lady Nisha though.”
I don’t like this kid.
I’ll never like her in the future either.
“Are you said that s-she likes me?”
Nisha, unaware of my thoughts, looked down at me with wide eyes.
It seemed like her cheeks might have reddened briefly. But it was a momentary thing.
“Hey! Don’t you know that I hate you so much? I really want to kill you, you know?”
Nisha grabbed my struggling nape and lifted me up.
“So, go away. Don’t try to catch my eye!”
Then she threw me towards Arthur.
Ah… it was just fine a moment ago… Give me more strength…
“Byaaah! (My mission target! Don’t go!)”
I shouted with regret, but Nisha…
“W-what, there are such things!”
She grumbled and left.
Hmph. What a waste.
I looked at the hands that had received Nisha’s power and licked my lips.
“Lady Shekina, do you like Nisha?”
Arthur, who held me again, smiled faintly and patted my head.
“Byaaah! (It’s not about liking, it’s about being useful!)”
“I see. Lady Shekina, you’re quite peculiar in many ways.”
Arthur mumbled some incomprehensible words and then patted my back.
“Get along later, not now.”
I didn’t understand the meaning of this either, but it didn’t matter.
I’ll die if I don’t finish the quest within a week.
There’s no time for later.
‘Anyway, I have to learn summoning magic while being with Nisha…’
I quickly rolled my head and soon came up with a plan.
