The Reason For Divorcing The Villain

CHAPTER 006

“How much whiskey is left?”

“More than half.”

“Give it to me.”

His hand fell away. The warm darkness turned into cold light that stung her eyes. She needed warmth, but she didn’t think she would have the strength to even lift a finger before the alcohol started to pour in. She was handed a bottle of whiskey. Without hesitation, he picked up the bottle and poured the amber liquid into his mouth. Feeling the flavor and all, the inside of his throat burning hot and all. It just went in like water.

“I guess the whiskey here is different from the whiskey I know.”

“Maybe so.”

“Isn’t this strong drink?”

“That is correct.”

She wrinkled her face. She emptied all the remaining whiskey that was sloshing around at the bottom of the bottle.

“It’s not harsh at all. Isn’t this water?”

He grabbed the bottle she was shaking and licked the tip of her tongue against her entrance where his lips had touched, causing her to shake her head.

“If my tongue is not mistaken, it is definitely whiskey.”

“I poured that strong drink on you, but why can’t I calm down?”

He took the whiskey bottle out of her hand. He moved extremely slowly, as if trying not to provoke her. She held out her hand as if not to provoke her as she stared at him.

“Come on.”

She stretched out her hand and her vision suddenly heightened. But she wasn’t surprised and wrapped her arms around his neck in a familiar manner. Because it was always like that in my dreams.

“You’re doing this to put me in bed.”

“Yes.”

He picked her up in one arm without much effort, even though she was not that small, and headed to her bed. He always did this when something bad happened to her in real life, and in her dreams he would calm her down by raving about her excitement. He placed her down on her bed, which was too wide for her alone, and stroked her forehead. Once and again. Little by little, her stiff body relaxed at the dry touch on her forehead. She must have been applying strength without realizing it, and a stiff pain came from the back of her neck and shoulders. She felt a pain that she couldn’t have felt in a dream. Opened her closed eyes. His eyes met hers as he looked down at her.

“Her shoulder hurts.”

“Because the tension is relieved.”

“It hurts.”

Her face distorted as she repeated it again. She held his hand that was stroking her forehead with both hands.

His hands were warm. She felt a vivid warmth. So she just froze. She didn’t even realize it… She was so caught up in the situation that she didn’t even realize it. In the dream, no matter how much she touched him or how much she stayed with him, she felt no warmth at all. To be exact, she couldn’t feel anything. She did not feel any cold or heat, pain or tickling. Because it was a dream. Because the time she spent with him was all just a dream. However, the hand she was holding tightly was warm, and his head and shoulders were sore… At that moment, she pushed his hand away, calling him her source. She knew that it was reality and not a dream.

She knew.

But knowing and accepting were completely different things. Her blue eyes were shaking frantically like reeds caught in the brunt of a strong storm. Soon, her whole body started shaking. She opened her mouth but was met with a hiss. This unrealistic situation, which had been temporarily isolated due to a situation that came out of nowhere, was thrust right in front of her. The world was turned upside down, just as heaven and earth were turned upside down.

Suddenly.

The world she had only heard about through his mouth in her dreams without any preparation, and her memories, which were not real to her, were left behind in a faded book. Rather… It would be better if her original world was destroyed and she was left alone. If that were the case, wouldn’t she have been able to do something? If this was the original world, it would be like this… It wouldn’t have been as daunting as floundering in this endless space.

Asili couldn’t breathe properly. The situation she was in, which she had put aside for a while, was coming in like a tidal wave and was suffocating her. Her hands and feet were shaking even though she was lying on the bed, and it felt like her whole body was falling into a bottomless hole. Falling into a hole with an open black mouth, no idea how far it will fall, falling and just falling…

“Asili!”

He pulled her shoulder strongly. Cold sweat ran down her pale, bloodless cheeks.

“Asili. Look at me. Look at me.”

He suddenly appeared in her unfocused and blurry eyes. His strong strength was pulling her down.

“Eww… Huh. Hehehehehehe.”

She vividly felt the strong force pulling her shoulder and holding her chin. Only then did she manage to let out her suffocated breath. The tears in her eyes mixed with cold sweat and dripped down her chin. He said, looking straight into her eyes as she gasped for breath.

“Look at me. Don’t think about anything, just look at me.”

He filled her field of vision. The empty blue eyes followed him as he said. Her saturated blue eyes were like the clearest sky, making her forget about the black hole that had swallowed her. The arm that was fluttering in the air was caught in his hand. He pulled her down as she fell to the floor where she could not be seen. Thin, trembling arms wrapped around his neck, and her strong arms pulled her around his waist and held her tightly in his arms.

“Pee. Shh. Slowly. Breathe in slowly.”

She heard his voice in her ear. She opened her mouth and barely made a sound.

“Ah… line…”

“Asili.”

His low voice vibrated throughout her body.

“Asili. Asili. Asili. Asili.”

He kept whispering. Her arms around his neck slowly lost strength. She leaned her cheek against his shoulder and let out her long, drawn out breath. A lukewarm breath touched his shoulder and then disappeared. His shoulder, where her wet cheek touched it, also became wet. The tears flowing down his bare skin were cold, but he didn’t move. He just gave his arm around her waist a little more strength. As the flowing tears gradually subsided, he stopped whispering, and only the sound of his slightly choked breathing occasionally echoed in the quiet room. How long has it been? The last teardrop that was hanging dangerously at the corner of my eye flowed down my cheek. Little by little she twisted her body in his arms.

“Asili?”

As her arms around her waist loosened, she lifted her still trembling hand and rubbed the area around her stained eyes. Her itching didn’t go away, so her hand, which was rubbing harder, was caught by him and stopped. He pulled her away from her arms, her wetness clinging to her eyes, and he tucked her bright red hair behind her ear. The tickling had subsided, but I wanted to rub her eyes again with my own hands, so I twisted her hand in his hand.

“If you rub any more, it will bleed.”

At her assertive words, she blinked her eyes rapidly. A harsh cracking sound came out along with the sound of wind leaking.

“Radish… Son… blood?” Asili said, rubbing her eyes with her hands.

Perhaps because she was in a daze, she couldn’t quite understand. He stopped by holding her cheek as she tilted her head several times, and his gaze swept from the corner of her eyes to the cheek he held, and then to her shoulder.

“You have weak skin.”

Weak skin? Did she have weak skin? What did that even mean? Her head didn’t turn at all. Instead of giving the answer she wanted, she gave him a completely incomprehensible expression.

“I think I’m going to bruise. Sorry. If I had known that my skin was weak, I would have adjusted my strength.”

“No.”

She shook her head. The voice was still horribly cracked, but it was a clear denial. Perhaps it was because she had shed tears from her, but it helped her to strengthen her watery eyes.

“You caught me.”

Did they say that falling has no wings? But as she fell, he stretched out his hands and became her wings. Because he held her, she was able to get out of the black pit with no end in sight. No, maybe it’s still falling, but still. Still, he caught it.

“It’s okay now.”

It was okay. It will be fine. She repeated to herself.

Something happened that she couldn’t accept. A situation she couldn’t accept, but must accept, was right under her nose. So it will be okay. Because it has to be okay.

She clenched her fists so tightly that blue veins appeared on the backs of her hands. He looked at her quietly and then opened her mouth. But she couldn’t say anything.

She was a woman he only met in his dreams. A relationship that only meets in dreams and then breaks up. That she did became her reality. Her dream has become a reality for both him and her. But unlike him, she crossed the world. She doesn’t know how she crossed or why she crossed, but one thing is certain. This was his world, not hers. By all accounts, the woman in her bedroom did not look like she had come here because she wanted to.

‘Why?’

‘Why? Why… Rani, I don’t know… la…’

The fear that arose the moment his and her eyes met quickly mixed with anxiety, nervousness, and bewilderment, and soon turned into confusion.

‘You caught me.’

What could he say in front of her sincerity that seems to have come out as if it were being scraped out? He held it, she said. He wouldn’t have simply said that he grabbed her chin or shoulder. It wasn’t difficult to interpret her words, which were thrown out without context. Her conversations with her were always like that, so it was familiar. Her world has been turned upside down, and she has lost all of the support she was standing on… Was she falling? Falling into a place with no end and no direction. He couldn’t even imagine her fear, her anxiety, her bewilderment and despair that she felt now.

“It’s okay… It’ll be okay… going to be. It was okay.”

She was constantly saying the same thing and catching her breath. He couldn’t tell her that. Saying it’s okay, saying it’ll be okay. Neither of them could say anything. He knew she’s not okay right now. He didn’t know if she would be okay in the future.

If you want to offer empty consolation, you can do whatever you want.

He was a notorious Grand Duke and cunning politician. It’s easier for him to dig a hole to escape from and at the same time say something meaningless than to drink cold soup.

But…
