The morning sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, illuminating the person sleeping soundly on the bed. Shen Yuyuan was completely wrapped up in the soft blankets, his long, curled eyelashes casting a shadow under his eyes.
Shen Yuyuan shifted slightly and slowly opened his eyes, only to be dazzled by the sunlight. Unable to adjust, he shut them again, dazing out in bed for a moment. His small nose twitched as he caught a lingering floral scent in the air, making him abruptly open his eyes and look toward the source of the smell.
His clothes from last night were placed beside the bed. The memories of what had happened the previous night came flooding back, leaving Shen Yuyuan completely dumbfounded.
Last night, he had been rubbing against Fu Chengyue’s arms and even acting coquettishly, asking for hugs. Shen Yuyuan wished he could slap his past self. Even though he thought that way, his ears and cheeks were burning red, and he felt even more embarrassed looking at the clothes by the bed.
The scent of Fu Chengyue’s pheromones still lingered in the air around his nose, carrying a mix of floral fragrance and icy tea notes.
“So awful, it smells terrible.” Shen Yuyuan threw the clothes onto the floor, even stomping on them twice before heading to wash up.
Looking into the mirror, Shen Yuyuan saw his flushed cheeks, eyes shimmering with moisture, and even a small bite mark on his lips—one he had made himself last night. He looked like someone who had just been thoroughly indulged.
Frustrated, Shen Yuyuan splashed water onto the mirror. How had he ended up like this? It was all that person’s fault. He didn’t even know that alpha’s name—who was he, anyway?!
The memory of Fu Chengyue protecting him last night resurfaced in his mind, making Shen Yuyuan blush for the first time in his life. As he walked out of the bathroom and saw the clothes on the floor, he couldn’t help but pick them up again, catching another whiff of Fu Chengyue’s pheromones.
What kind of flower was this?
Feeling guilty, Shen Yuyuan crept downstairs and saw Shen Yushu watching TV in the living room. Not spotting his father or stepdad, he let out a sigh of relief. He had no idea how he got home last night and was terrified of being scolded.
Shen Yushu noticed him sneaking downstairs and let out a small cough. Seeing the little one freeze in place and slowly turn to look at her, she smirked.
“Sis…” Shen Yuyuan stood obediently, knowing he had done something wrong and not daring to say a word.
“Hmph. Did you have fun? Going to a bar during your heat? You almost got taken advantage of by a bunch of alphas! If Fu Chengyue hadn’t sent you back, I’d love to see how you would’ve gotten out of that mess. You’d be crying by now.”
Shen Yushu poked Shen Yuyuan’s forehead. She had almost exploded from anger when she found out last night. She had already reported the incident to the Song family—Song Muyi was definitely in for a beating.
“Got it, won’t happen again. I forgot about my heat. Otherwise, those guys wouldn’t have been enough to stretch my muscles.” Shen Yuyuan made a few gestures, confident that if he hadn’t been drunk and in heat last night, he would’ve beaten those alphas so badly their parents wouldn’t recognize them.
So his name was Fu Chengyue? Why did that name sound so familiar? Shen Yuyuan thought hard but couldn’t recall. And how did his sister even know who he was?
“Oh, you’re so proud of yourself. Sure, you can fight, but what if they had suppressed you with their pheromones? Shen Yuyuan, if you don’t start protecting yourself, I won’t let you go out alone anymore. I’ll assign you a bodyguard!”
Shen Yuyuan always followed through on her words. If she said she would do something, she definitely would. So, Shen Yuyuan didn’t dare to argue and immediately nodded, showing that he understood.
“Sis, do Dad and Stepdad know…” Shen Yuyuan definitely didn’t want them to find out. Given Little Dad’s personality, he would surely cry while hugging him tightly, calling out, “Yuanyuan, are you okay?”
“They don’t know. If they did, it wouldn’t just be me waiting for you right now. Alright, go eat your meal. I’m heading to work. When you have time, come with me to thank Fu Chengyue. He brought you back safe and sound and even gave you an inhibitor.”
Shen Yushu was also an alpha, and she knew exactly how alphas behaved. An omega like Shen Yuyuan would be irresistible to any alpha, let alone during a heat. It was already fortunate that he wasn’t pinned down and taken advantage of.
“I don’t want to see him.” His words were full of disdain, but deep inside, there was a tiny hint of anticipation.
