Chapter 3: I Don’t Like Being So Naive
After eight years, Fu Chengyue stood once again at the podium of the school’s lecture hall. The last time he stood here, it was two days before the college entrance exams, delivering a speech to motivate the juniors and encourage the next batch of students.
Fu Chengyue had always considered himself quite youthful, but seeing the youthful faces in front of him now made him suddenly feel old.
Shen Yuyuan sat at the back of the lecture hall, chin resting on his hand, watching someone on the stage speaking passionately. His fingers absentmindedly brushed against his gland, which felt a bit warm. Counting the days, it seemed like his heat might be approaching soon.
Shen Yuyuan watched as everyone in front listened to Fu Chengyue’s speech, then quietly stood up and left. The cool breeze brushed against his face as he opened the door, rustling the soft hair on his forehead. Shen Yuyuan’s eyelashes quivered gently; indeed, the outside was much better!
Gu Jiachen stood to the side, listening to Fu Chengyue recite from a monotonous script. With his keen eyes, he noticed a student leaving through the back door. As he got a clear view of their appearance, his eyes lit up.
As Fu Chengyue spoke, he frequently caught Gu Jiachen giving him signals. After years of friendship, Fu Chengyue still didn’t understand Gu Jiachen? He immediately put down the script and started impromptu speaking, ending with a final sentence.
“If you have goals and dreams, strive forward for those dreams, or at least, for the people you care about.”
After uttering this sentence, Fu Chengyue completely ignored the reaction from the audience and simply walked out the door. Gu Jiachen also didn’t continue; he followed Fu Chengyue out.
“What’s wrong? You were signaling me just now.” Fu Chengyue thought something major had happened, rushing to leave.
“I just saw a cute young guy leaving. His face, his build, my god, I’m in awe.” Gu Jiachen came out and started looking around for the cute guy he saw near the back door of the lecture hall.
Fu Chengyue smirked, a playful glint in his eyes, and kicked Gu Jiachen’s behind. Gu Jiachen almost stumbled and fell; there was now a footprint on his black suit.
“Gu Jiachen, are you crazy? Take a look at yourself, how old are you? Twenty-six, and you’re eyeing high schoolers. You’re twisted.” Fu Chengyue clicked his tongue; why was he friends with someone like this?
“Am I crazy? Come on, you don’t know how irresistible kids of this age group are. When they’re in love, they can sweep your soul away. Just the cute guy who left a while ago, I guarantee dating him would be thrilling. You don’t understand; you should try it sometime.”
Gu Jiachen patted his clothes, looking like he had plenty of experience. Fu Chengyue had never tried; he had never experienced that kind of fun. If he did try, he’d definitely get addicted.
“Is it because mature omegas can’t satisfy you anymore? You’re going for these inexperienced ones? Not my style, I’m not into that extreme stuff. I definitely won’t go for someone that young.”
Fu Chengyue said emphatically, almost swearing. He certainly wasn’t that twisted; he wasn’t interested in kids who were eight or nine years younger than him.
“Really? Don’t contradict yourself later.” Gu Jiachen didn’t believe that someone wouldn’t like this kind of thing. They just hadn’t tried it yet; they’d get used to it.
Fu Chengyue grinned in an unserious manner. When there was no one around, Fu Chengyue acted like a completely different person. He truly had the airs of a young master from the capital.
As soon as they turned around, they saw the cute guy Gu Jiachen had been discussing earlier standing behind them. Shen Yuyuan watched the two of them, lips curled in a displeased expression. Even when he looked unhappy, he exuded a different kind of beauty.
“He looks good even when he’s unhappy. Should I get his contact information?” Gu Jiachen said, already starting to walk over, but Fu Chengyue stopped him.
Fu Chengyue had to admit, the moment he laid eyes on Shen Yuyuan, he was astonished. He hadn’t considered that he’d encounter such an omega. Appearance was one thing, but one’s aura was another. Wearing the school uniform, exuding a youthful innocence, yet those eyes were both enchanting and alluring, seeing through people’s desires.
He hadn’t expected the kid he’d seen a few years ago to grow into this… Fu Chengyue suddenly found himself at a loss for words, unable to describe Shen Yuyuan adequately.
“What’s wrong?” Gu Jiachen didn’t understand why Fu Chengyue had stopped him, looking at him in confusion.
Shen Yuyuan didn’t like being discussed like this. The last time he’d been discussed like this, that person had long since left the school. Shen Yuyuan had been about to step forward, but then he saw a school official coming out to look for someone. He had no choice but to give up and leave.
“Hey! He’s gone!” Gu Jiachen watched Shen Yuyuan walk away, unable to believe his eyes. Such a good-looking person, and he let him slip away like that.
“Shen’s grandson, from the military compound. I saw him a few years ago. I almost forgot.” Fu Chengyue stopped talking after saying this. He sighed as he watched Shen Yuyuan’s figure, suddenly feeling wary.
Shen Yuyuan kicked a pebble, arrogance evident in his gaze, lips tightly pursed. If it weren’t for someone arriving just now, he definitely would’ve given these two a piece of his mind. He hated alphas like this; he absolutely, absolutely didn’t want to be matched with such an alpha as his future partner.
