<Episode 48>
There is one person standing here that is infinitely embarrassed and bewildered by having to face an unknown culture without notice.
Her name is Daisy Fager.
That’s me.
“- — – -!”
“- — – -!”
At a glance, suspicious people were greeting Rue. Situations like these require objective thinking and judgment.
I calmly looked around and organized my thoughts.
Where were we?
‘The airship called by Rue. it’s small in size, but it doesn’t look to be one of those mass-produced ones. It must be expensive.’
The time?
‘2:30 pm. We’re on our way back to Midwinterre.’
What’s the situation?
‘When I got on the airship, people were kneeling down and saying something to Rue.’
Who’s here?
‘Approximately thirty people. Foreigners. They’re wearing Northern-style clothes with white veils, so only their chins are visible. Mostly men. There are about two women.’
Northern style garments.
‘…Indeed. When I look closely, they’re all wearing clothing from the Northern Continental Union.’
The clothing looked more like the traditional clothing style I used to read about in books, not modern garments.
It had long and wide sleeves, enough to cover the hands, and a narrow waistline. There was a waistband and earrings adorned with pearls and gold. Furthermore, with all thirty people dressed in the same white color, it felt like they were all going to participate in some religious ceremony or ritual.
Let’s make sense of it.
‘Thirty people are gathered in one space looking like they’re going to perform a ritual.’
The conclusion I drew was as follows.
‘Conman!’
Oh my goodness, Rue. I’d thought of it, but I hadn’t expected him to actually be a Cult Leader!
I looked at Rue, burning with a desire to confirm my most logical conclusion.
Contrary to my expectations, however, Rue showed no response to the extreme hospitality displayed here. If he’d looked upon the people here with an arrogant expression, as if this display of devotion was only natural, then he would have added credibility to my reasoning.
He passed quietly between the masked men on both sides, as if he could see nothing.
His walking style felt neither arrogant nor pleased.
Was my guess wrong?
“Then what are these people?”
What was with the big welcome?
For some reason, I felt a little uncomfortable. No, not just a little, I felt this was very weird.
A military-like atmosphere filled the air, with an aura of rigidity. There were fervent cries, as if blindly calling upon a hero in turbulent times. It felt as if everyone was demonstrating a submissive posture before a conqueror.
All of these elements coexisted in this one space. How could it be anything but strange?
And above all,
“Calepa! Calepa!”
At some point, I made out the word they kept chanting.
‘Calepa?’
Was that Rue’s real name?
I turned my head and looked at Rue again.
As he leisurely walked ahead, I noticed he’d returned to his original form.
Swoosh.
Following Rue, I picked up a white cloth embroidered with golden threads that came to me with the wind and moved deeper into the airship. After passing by four more corridors adorned with paintings, the atmosphere instantly became quiet.
Then I saw an enchanting scenery, nothing like anything I’d seen before.
Shielded with a glass wall stood a greenhouse.
“Wow.”
A little bird with a red tail flew overhead.
I could hear the sound of a nearby flowing stream along with the tiny bird’s cry.
The airship was clearly a confined space, and yet even with the presence of a flowing body of water, there was no excessively damp feeling in the air.
Beyond the glass wall was a vast expanse and forest.
At my feet seemed to be the door to a garden like that of heaven’s.
“How much money did he put into this ship?”
Perhaps Rue was much richer than I expected.
At that moment, a strange crowd began to gather around Rue.
There were three people who came in silently like shadows.
Armed in white from head to toe, like those who welcomed Rue, they approached him and started to fidget with his hands.
Then they started to undress him.
“Are they crazy?”
Why were they taking it all off in front of me?
Rue didn’t even seem to bother paying them any attention as he continued to walk, not caring whether they were peeling his clothes off or not.
It looked like this kind of conduct was natural.
‘I guess it’s just his way. I can’t be offended that Rue’s leaving me all alone.’
I wasn’t in a position to get off this ship right now anyway.
I didn’t like watching people take off their clothes, so I turned my attention to the greenhouse.
But even with that thought, I couldn’t take my eyes off Rue for a long while.
‘What…’
This was because they even touched the part where Rue’s- his little one might be…
They took off his clothing articles one by one carefully, as if he were a child who couldn’t take care of himself.
‘They’re really going that far?’
Is Rue the type of child in the family who even gets hand-fed?
Rue didn’t seem like he cared at all where and how the perverts touched him. It didn’t seem like this was something he’d gone through just once or twice.
If it was a family tradition, since I’m an outsider, I should have tried to understand.
‘I don’t want to understand.’
It was very unpleasant for some reason. I hated it, and that bothered me even more.
Why was it so unpleasant? Was it because I felt it would all be uncomfortable if I was in Rue’s shoes? Or did I just hate seeing a grown man being treated like a child?
“I don’t know.”
Only one thing was clear.
I didn’t like it. I wanted to stop it.
Then I had only one choice.
“Hand.”
The three people, men and women, stopped and looked back at me.
I declared to them.
“I’ll take it off.”
“…….”
“From now on, I’ll take care of changing Rue’s clothes. Like a payback for the free airship ride. Refusal is not an option.”
Oh, right. These people were foreigners. Could they understand me?
My worries were overshadowed. The man who was taking off Rue’s clothes most enthusiastically looked at me, chewed on his lips as he spoke,
“You ungrateful woman. To say something so disrespectful in front of Calepa…”
Disrespect?
‘Is it impolite for outsiders to take off Rue’s clothes here?’
They had all sort of weird rules.
But the man didn’t stop short of criticizing me.
“Repay for the disrespect with your death!”
Death?
“No, that’s too much.”
The man came at me. I reflexively smacked him on the cheek.
This was self-defense. It’s not like I can just die if you tell me to, right?
“Ugh!”
The pervert’s body faltered slightly.
However, he didn’t lose his grit, considering he pretended to fall and then tried to reach for my neck. So I slapped him on the other cheek too.
The man fainted.
“…….”
“…….”
“…….”
In the prolonged silence, I defended myself in a somewhat guilty voice.
“Self-defense.”
The remaining two individuals looked at me with eyes of disbelief before quickly turning their heads, shaking their shoulders. All they could do was hold onto the half-removed sleeves of Rue’s shirt, and dry swallow.
“……Ha.”
It was a short burst of laughter that replaced the silence.
No, to be exact, the laughter was supposed to be short, but it’d become a longer one.
I stared blankly at Rue’s face as his shoulders shook and he laughed uncontrollably.
I’d never seen Rue laugh so defenselessly – it made me wonder if I was seeing alright.
Rue, after having let out his emotions to his heart’s content, stopped after one point.
He looked at me with a strange expression, leisurely brushing his lips before flinging his shirt, which hung reluctantly from his arm, far into the distance.
After taking off his top so confidently, Rue turned his body to my side and then…
“Miss Daisy.”
As our eyes met, a shiver ran down my spine. With a crazed and blissful expression, he turned into eyes filled with intense joy and happiness, brushing his fingers against my cheek.
“If you wanted to undress me so badly, you should have just said so.”
Shyness and madness intertwined. When faced with that captivating beauty, my words were momentarily caught in my throat.
‘You’re not Morian right now. Why are you making that face when you’re not Morian?!’
What was this? It felt like I’d uncovered some unnecessary secret.
When I faltered and stepped back, Rue looked back.
Turning his head, he pointed his chin to the two remaining people. It was clearly a sign telling them to get out.
“But Calepa.”
“We’re here to serve Calepa…….”
The reluctance of the man and woman faded when Rue silently stared at them.
In an instant, they gasped and quickly lowered their heads. After briefly kneeling and giving a hasty greeting, they disappeared from the greenhouse.
A bird chirped somewhere.
Rue, who was staring at something expressionlessly, slowly turned back to me. Then, he spread his arms and said,
“Well, I’m ready, so take off the rest.”
I confirmed it again today.
He was a madman.
He wasn’t even worth the bother of spelling out madman properly
I’ll just call him mi from now on.
“You mi, Mr. Rue. Take it off yourself.”
The word Calepa doesn’t seem to mean anything in korean, and it’s definitely a title from what it looks. I wonder if the author is trying to say khalifa, the Arabic word for ruler or successor. This seems most likely to be it, but I’ll only change it after we get a little more information. Just wanted to lay it out.
The original nickname is Mi, since the korean word for crazy is Michin 미친
Also, daisy,, you must keep your promises. Take it offf hehee
😭Hahahaha
Thank you for the chapter!
I am with Daisy on this one. They are all crazy!
Daisy, you should have just turned your head. Now she has to undress Rue. Lol. It shouldn’t be too difficult, she used to be a man too. Thank you for the translation.
I’ve never said this before but Rue really has this kink of wanting to dominate someone he likes and fluster them, and honestly I’d be weak to it but I’m glad Daisy’s staying strong HAHAHA
I also would like to add how dynamic Rue and Daisy are in this story so this novel is truly a diamond mine. I wish to read more stories similar to this one.
Thank you for the tl!
I’m going crazy. I literally screamed when Daisy said she’d take his clothes off. Has she gone mad? Are we finally getting to those romantic moments or not? Btw Rue is the Dominant Bradtamer sadist type.
I love how random Daisy’s through process can ber at most ofnthe times. 🤣
